This setup seems to be a very good answer for a difficult work table/bench I need to come up with. I've been scouting for some time now to come up with a good reloading bench where I have good control over the dimensions due to limited space, but at the same time a very solid bench is needed due to a heavy press to be mounted near the front edge off to one side. Wheels would be a big plus, as well as a construction such as this one which leads itself to reconfiguring in the future if moved to a location where more space is available {and some new stringers and wood would take care of the rest!}. I've been leaning towards a modular construction kit for this purpose, but had not found exactly what I was looking for until I came across this configuration which is easily adaptable. This rascal definitely has some very good attributes to solve the riddle I've been faced with, so I think I'm now finally honing in on the solution needed! I like what I see, as well as all the positive notes from other purchasers, so this modular unit may just take on a new purpose after I order one!

I have two of these stands! one for a router table and another for a 13" planer. The legs and stretchers go together perfectly and they are extremely rugged and durable. I opted for the locking casters, too. My limited space requires me to move my tools around a lot, and these have worked out perfectly.

I have a workbench, a benchtop planer and a compound miter saw mounted on these stands. They are well built, go together easily, and are very sturdy. Using the different length stretchers allows each stand to be customized. I also have each stand on lockable rollers so they can be moved around my small shop. Additionally, it is very easy to enclose the stands and add shelves and a door for storage. Great product.

I bought a 24" x 18" x 28" high stand to build a replacement base for my bench planer. I am very impressed by how solid the resulting frame is. Two pieces of information for anyone purchasing any of these stands: First, the pre-drilled holes in the stretchers that one would use, for example, to attach a table top, are sized for #12 machine screws. These are not commonly available at the typical local hardware store or at the big-box home center stores, so be sure you have enough of the right-sized hardware. Second, the carriage bolts that come with the legs for attaching the stretchers have a dab of Loctite or some similar compound placed on the bolt threads. If this dab is too close to the end of the bolt, it can make it difficult to properly start the nut on the threads without cross-threading the nut onto the bolt. I know this because I ruined one of my carriage bolts because of this!. I suggest scraping off as much of the Loctite as possible or alternatively, manufacturing could eliminate it altogether. All-in-all, however, I am very pleased with the stand, and expect I will be buying others as I re-configure my shop.

When this arrived, it was obvious that the packaging came appart in transit and the package had been repaired by the shipper. One of the feet was missing, and although I don't need it at this time, I would like to have the complete set.

Editor's note: Our customer service team at 800-376-7856 will be able to assist with getting that missing foot sent to you.

I love this rolling stand. My only problem is the feet come with the leg kit. Since I bought wheels for the stand I now have feet that aren't needed.

I ordered one stand just to see if it was going to work out. I liked it so much I ordered 8 more to build cabinets for my whole shop. If I could change anything, I wish they would pre drill the center of the leg to add a middle stringer but still a great product. No wasted plywood when making 24"x48" benches.

The shop stand bolted together quickly and easily. The adjustable legs made it a snap to adjust to my sloped garage floor. My workbench top is a solid core birch door (30" x 80" cut to 54" length) that I stained and finished with polyurethane. The entire assembly is rock solid and heavy. With the leftover door slab I plan on making another shop stand (with casters) for my scroll saw. Great product!

If you looking for high quality product, look no further than Rockler. What makes it so cool about Rockler stands, was that I could customize the stand to the size I needed. I ended up getting 24" X 48" stand to fit my offset 27" X 53" router table. I made sure to order the hinge set as well, because I plan on building drawers, drown draft cabinet, etc. If Rockler had a set of steel braces for the top I would of ordered those too! In closing if you are debating on a stand to meet your needs, this is the stand to get. Thanks again Rockler for such a fantastic product!

Shop Stand for Miter Saw - I used the simple router stand for this miter saw.
I used this shop stand to build a miter saw station for my miter saw - it's great. I modified plans from ShopSmith (or WoodSmith) Magazine but used the Rockler Shop Stand for the cabinet. It's very strong and very mobile. I can cut an 8 foot piece from either side when the fences are extended. The wings fold down for a very compact storage. I didn't like the Rockler shop stand casters because they're so small and I didn't think they would roll over electric cords in the garage so I opted for larger casters. However, the shop stand is a solid stand. I also used another router stand for my drill press too.

32 bolts included with the leg kit... 32 bolts pitched because they were so far out of tolerance that no nut made or the ones sent would or could ever work.... Had to go to hardware store and buy all new bolts for this. Otherwise made a nice table and I opted for the caster set as well 24x48 with 32" legs.

Editor's note:  This was a packaging error that has been corrected. Our customer service team at 800-376-7856 is able to assist with replacement of proper nuts and bolts.

An outstanding product. What all the other guys said! Get the casters! They go on sale pretty often. They are amazing. I roll over rubber floor mats and the cords I have beneath them. No problem. I used MDF to enclose them and the cabinets that emerged look like, well, furniture. Workshop furniture. Less garage like and more workshop like. After I got the first set, I ordered three more. Changed the whole look of the shop. Got me down right excited to dive into my woodworking. And I have done woodworking for over 50 years.

This is a great product - I have several of these benches. I decided to add additional strechers to support drawers I was building. When I ordered the strechers I found that Rockler does not sell the carriage bolts to install them. The carrage bolts only come when you buy the legs - and unfortunately the bolts 1/2 inch size make the unique enough that neither [home centers] sell them. The bolts were easily found on-line but I would have preferred one stop shopping.

The unit I built uses the 32" legs, 18 x 24 stretchers and the locking casters. Every part of this assembly is really top quality. I am very pleased with Rockler and this project. I use the finished assembly for a benchtop drill press. I holds the drill press very well and is very secure.

I am assembling a shop to build an experimental airplane. The table legs are excellent quality, well fabricated and sturdy. Makes a great work table, easily moved about on my concrete floor even without casters. I've ordered two more from you.
Thanks for helping me in what looks like a formidable endeavor.

This unit is 36" wide x 24" deep. Also made up another unite that is 24" wide x 24" deep. Both units use 28" legs.
Also, both units are enclosed with compatible Rockler auto shut hinges and interior storage shelving.
Mounted on top of 36" wide unit is a belt/disk sander and a mortisisn jig.
Mounted on top of the 24" wide is a spindle/occulating sander. Used Rockler's Locking caster for storage and mobility puroses. Very useful.

The materials and finish on this stand are excellent, and the designer thought of everything regarding fastener holes and add on accessories.
I was really impressed with the delivery speed. I got my order in less than 24 hours, and paid just the standard shipping costs. Very impressive.

I could not be happier with this these workbenches. I had been searching for sturdy and mobile worktables and these are a great bargain. All of the superstore benches were either too small or did not securely bolt together. I was left with either making my own or buying extruded metal and connectors at well over twice the cost. I ordered a second bench the day I received the first and today will order two more of the same 48" inch square sets with castors for future use. These are ideal assembly tables for everything from my wood working projects to a homebuilt aircaraft.
Thank You for offering this great product.

The in store display tells of dozens of layout that these stands can be configured including a workbench with drawers, doors and shelves. However, no materials list or plans were included in the tube. Sure, assembly is easy, but what if you want to add the features suggested? Need a little help here, fellas!

Editor's note:These shop stands are considered multi-functional items that are offered for the end user to incorporate into their own designs and uses.
The legs and cross members for this have a small holes ( besides the large square holes which are used to assemble the stand) These smaller holes can be used to attached the hinges (using the screws provided with the hinges), and can also be used to attach plywood to serve as sides. These small holes in the cross member are also the ones used to attach a top to the stand from the underside.
For drawers we recommend using a slide such as the following which will have L brackets for mounting to the underside of the work surface:

Dollar for dollar these casters are the BEST on the market. I have purchased in the past and cannot get over their quality. I would highly recommend these over other items you may find on the net or at the big box stores.

I managed to pick up 68834 (Steel Router Table) on one of the deal no deal specials.
While I found no instruction sheet - non was needed.
All the bolts were the same size made putting the table together a snap.
All metal was wrapped in plastic to protect the finish. I made a nice cheap 2x4 table top which I will use until I decide to turn this table into a true router table. - or - I will pick up a longer strechers to convert this small but functional table into a full size table.
I upgraded the table to include the caster set which makes this a very nice portable table useful when I am working on my lathe & drill press.

Extremely solid construction and excellent finish. I really like the carriage bolt holes for the stretchers. Only wish it was drilled for set of 6 stretchers as an option for 2 shelves under the top.

Just bought your stand for a new Sand-Flee sander. Got the 24X36X28 configuration. The ability to customize the size of the stand to meet your needs is a great feature. Assembly was easy with all parts a precision fit. Fasteners were also top quality. I echo a previous comment that when ordering the casters, what do you do with the supplied feet? I hate to throw them away. Maybe you should not send the feet when casters are ordered or make provision to return them. This is a quality piece of equipment which I would highly recommend.

Decent stand system, however the carriage bolts that come with the legs are not worth a hoot...my advice is throw them all away and get some decent ones. Every one I tried broke or rounded the shoulder to where they were unusable.

I also picked this up on a Deal/No-Deal. I was impressed by the sheer mass of the components, all engineered for a life of real work and occasional abuse. I am hoping that more pieces come on future Deal/NoDeal offers because that makes them even more affordable.
I did need to go to the hardware store and buy one nut because the plastic envelope that held the carriage bolts and nuts split open in shipping and the box wasn't sturdy enough to keep things from falling out. But one 23 cent nut isn't going to change my opinion - I'm glad I bought more than one unit!
