I recently bought the Kreg jig and did four cabinets with the screws mentioned. Can't give enough thumbs up for the Kreg jig and the screws. Before I decided on the jig, I was going to dowel the joints which would have take a whole lot more time. I have a hardwood project coming up and am itchy to see how the jig and screws work out there.

I used these Kreg screws to build a oak bedroom set and it came out without a flaw. I will use the Kreg screws whenever I use the pocket hole system, they are great.

Great screws. The square drive gives you exact control over the amount of torque you want to apply in any situation.

I used these screws to fasten steam bent oak on a countertop edge. They really sucked it in tight. The head size is not given for #8 screws but a 3/8" counterbore was just right.

Good screws. Although they are sold as self-drilling, they still cause splitting in hickory. Pilot drilling for the screw tip was an additional step necessary.

The hardwood floor that was installed in our "New Construction" home was squeaking very loudly because the installer did not set the staples at the correct angle, reducing the holding power & allowing the floor to float up from the floor. The 1 1/4" Washer head screw was just the right length to install from below, through the 3/4" sub floor and into the 5/8" engineered hardwood laminate without coming through the hardwood top surface.

The Kreg Jig and the self tapping screws provide a quick yet very sturdy way to set up cabinets and shelves. Much faster than glue and great allowance for adjustments during set up. The shelves are very sturdy.

I use the Kreg hole pocket jig all the time, I look for reasons to get it out It works great I got it for Christmas, and was so excited you would have thought I had received a new diamond ring, that jig is worth it's weight in gold, and these screws are the best for the job, just follow the easy instructions for the size wood you are drill into and buy the appropriate length screw, stick with Kreg screws they are really strong and you'll not regret it, the quality is tough and they self tap easily, but the head of the screw it perfect for giving a nice tight joint and not pulling through the wood.

Use of the Kreg Jig and these self tapping screws provides the best possible means of fabricating a face frame for cabinets. Once I had determined where to set the collar for the step bit so that the pilot hole ended at the base of the wood I learned that the 1-1/2" screw is too long for 3/4" wood frames (my first time learning experience). It would be good if the screws mentioned the recommended wood thickness as part of the screw(s) description. My kitchen cabinets were made using the 1-1/4" screws for the rails and stiles and the face frame is rock solid! Highly recommended.

Built a blanket chest, lined with cedar lining, used these for joining parts together where I didn't want to use glue. I wouldn't do without them.

This hardware was purchased for a couple set of cabinets. One kitchen set, and one built in study set. Like all products from Rockler, they do exactly what they are intended to do, and they do it well. I have been very pleased with all my purchases.

I bought the KREG 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" coarse thread screws for a bookshelf project made with poplar. I had used all my regular supply. These screws work great because of the washer head. Solid gripping power and the pieces don't require clamps on glue-up. This is one of the strongest wood joints you can make. I have the Kreg Screw K2 Master system. These screws are a must for face frame construction of cabinets. Use coarse thread screws for soft wood and fine thread screws for hard wood. Use coarse thread for joining plywood.

My only suggestion would be to go back to the black screws. They are less noticable in the pockets. I do not like the plugs.

I bought a box of 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" fine thread screws to use with my Mini Kreg jig. The pilot hole the step bit drills is too big for these screws to work. I put one part of an oak face frame together and the side just flopped around. Now I have 200 screws that won't work for my face frames. If you have a step bit that has a smaller pilot hole you will love this self-tapping screw.
Editor's note: The step bit is used to drill the hole in the first piece of wood only. These screws have self-tapping wood auger tips. As per Kreg the use of self tapping screws eliminates the need to drill the mating workpiece.
