The featherboard grips securely in the mitre slot and the 'feathers' supply ample pressure. Push stick has a narrow blade with a comfortable handle. I use them both together when ripping narrow strips on the table saw...helps to keep my hands a safe distance from the blade.

The featherboad works like a charm and is easy to set up and remove. Only gave a 4 because the push stick is next to useless. It does not have enough grip to hold the work to the fence.

I love the fact that the push stick has a strong magnet that allows me to just set the stick on the side and it will not fall nor is it in the way. The feather board locks into place and fits great in the miter slots.I plan to purchase another set in the future.

I find myself using the Bench Dog push stick a lot more than the one that came with this kit though because the Bench Dog puts your hand more to the right of the blade. I didn't buy it for the push stick, for the featherboard and the push blocks and i'm very pleased with the purchase. Cannot beat the sale price of $15.99 each, grab them while you can! Recommend to all.

One of the two bars fits (although tightly) in the track in my Craftsman table saw, but the other one won't fit at all. While this F/B may not have been made for Craftsman saws, it would be nice to have the product available with optional components for different tables (since manufacurers seem bent on doing their own thing with track size and style). There also seems to be a quality control issue with this product, since the two bars seem to be of different widths.

The push stick is ok , It doesn't let you control a large cut of wood, but works fine for thin cuts through the saw. The magnet in the handle is very nice to keep the thing near the saw instead of lost on the work bench somewhere.

I know what the other people are talking about though as far as not fitting onto their router table or table saw slots. I have a Ryobi router table, table saw and it does'nt fit into those either. For some reason you have to buy Jet,Delta,Dewalt,Grizzly, etc. to get the so called "standard size slots". My bandsaw was very expensive and it did come with the "standard" slot of 3/8 deep x 3/4" wide slot which is what the Rockler featherboard requires. Should come with 2 sets of bars so us "not so standard people" can use it too. (:

I had one that I never used becasue it didn't reach far enough on my saw. The featherboard with this kit is a great addition to my tool arsenal and I won't rip without it. In addition I purchasd 2 more kits for my router and shaper tables. A great product at a great value.

My jointer came with a pair and I found them easy to use for large items on my table saw, which I constantly misplaced when I needed them with the jointer. After using the feather board and push stick for a small project, I promptly reutilized my home made board and stick to heat my home. The feather board sets up in less than 30 seconds and takes down in less than 5. The push stick fits my hand perfectly and the magnetic slug in the handle is keeps it readily available.

24) Submitted by Dustin Munchel, from Chesterfield, VA on 2/25/2008 Customer Rating: I probably would have rated it a bit higher but to no fault of it's own, the feather board doesn't fit into my Black & Decker table saw. I'm guessing the slots for the miter gauge are fairly standard for many other table saws but for some reason, Black & Decker (Firestorm to be exact) had to be different with a narrower slot and a "T" groove for the miter gauge. I also would have liked a slightly thicker push stick but I know many folks probably like it to cut thin stock. But I will say the push stick is VERY sturdy since it's metal and the magnets are nice as well to keep it in place. Haven't used the push blocks yet.

The router all of a sudden threw the piece at me and splintered the wood. That was expensive piece of wood. My fingers are expensive too and they were all right. I ordered the paddles and it gave me confidence to continue the project. I vote for safety always but this is the first time I needed extra equipment.

Having used both of these, they're great (handy AND safe) tools - the magnetized handle helps keep the push stick handy, and the featherboard help for safety and quality cuts. I'm happy, my wife is happy, and my finger tips are accounted for.
