Split-ring stop collars clamp around drill bits and hold securely in place. When tightened, they clamp over the complete diameter of the drill bit shaft without marring.
Set includes collars for 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2" size bits.
1/8" hex key also available (two per pack).
Select the proper collar diameter, slide it onto the drill bit, and tighten the
single 1/8" hex screw. The split ring design tightens fully around the drill
bit securing it in place. No damage to the drill's side edges or flutes will occur!
Stop Collars allow you to set precise cutting depths on any countersink
or drill bit with a corresponding diameter.

After reading the reviews I opened my new set of split collars to if if what ither reviews were saying were true. The only collar that there was a problem was the 18", to start off the set screw did not tighten down so by using visegrips and working the screw in and out it finely closed down on the bit and held with no problem, had to use a screw driver to open to take it off, but worked flawlessly after that. I can recommend to others.

These collars are very stiff. Very hard to tighten down. I thought I was going to snap the allen wrench trying to squeeze these down. Once set up though, they work fine. Hopefully once they are wore in a little they will tighten down easier.

Very hard to tighten down, snapped the first set screw 15 minutes out of the package.

Good concept but poor execution. Very stiff to the point of being unusable. Ended up stripping the threads on two collars trying to tighten them up on drill sizes they were spec'ed for. Never could get them tight enough or secure enough to drill with.

Wish I had read the reviews before ordering. Other comments are spot on. Poor quality - stiff, hard to get tight, screws are easy to ruin. Ruined the 1st one I tried to tightened.

Will not recommend these collars. Difficult to use, not user friendly.

These seem fine IF the bit you want to fit is one of the sizes supplied and IF the collar was machined to spec. Unfortunately for me, the one collar I needed the smallest is NOT machined to spec and doesn't have enough give to be usable. None of the collars give AT ALL. In short, for me this set was a waste of money.

The collars don't work all that well. Each collar is very hard and stiff. You could not squeeze them closed with a pair of vice grips. So do not think you will tighten them down a size with that allen wrench. Each collar will basically only fit a single size of drill bit. You could almost call this a drill bit conversion kit. Once you get them on, they work well. They are simply not as flexible as you would think.
