Finally hardware that operates well in applications where doors need to open up- and stay open.
Function: helps lift up door after the initial motion- combine with soft-close for smooth operation when closing.
Installation: use own screws ( which you do anyway ), by location on door and cabinet, select range of motion and power to help the door open and close. Spring can be removed from mounting bracket by ( carefully ) pulling up tension spring with screwdriver.
Great product, thank you Rockler!

I needed to re-engineer two kitchen cabinets from normal operation to a vertical lift open (to accomodate a new refrigerator). I was worried because each door was almost 20 lbs. But the lifts hold the doors very nicely. (I could only install one lift on each door). Assuming these lifts wear well, they are a great product.

After trying several spring loaded & friction type lid supports, I finally found something that works. They are supporting a vertically opening cabinet door that is part of a range hood/cabinet combo. I installed per the included instructions, but realized I didn't need the full 90 degree open angle. It was easily corrected by lowering the bottom attaching position.
Best of all, my wife is extremely happy with the way these function as we've been "fighting" with this cabinet door for five years.

Project used the 150 model to support the opening and closing of a maple lid (panel door) to a audio mixing board enclosure. The lid weighs about 16 pounds. The gas springs work well as expected. They hold the lid upright in a vertical position very well when open. No chance of it falling shut. Requires a bit of a tug to get the lit to begin to close, then the gas springs assist in easing down the lid to about the last foot at which point the gas springs have little effect and gravity takes over. When opening, the gas springs make the lid self opening once it is up about a foot. But you do need to hang onto it so it does not pop open too fast.

These work great. I learned two things others might want to know. When using with a door with glass, the hinges need to be placed directly over the lift-o-mats, otherwise the door will be pulled out of shape. Also the door will close very fast. Blumotion stops solve that problem.(See pic)

My project was to use a pair of the 150 set on a large malamine door 36"x27"x3/4" that hinges at the top and covers a laundry chute. The arms did a credible job but they will not fully extend, presumably because of the weight of the door. There does seem to be a limit as to what you can expect from the arms.

Used it on a set of cabinet doors on top of a very large fish tank. Worked flawlessly.
Very pleased with the look and installation.

I purchased these hinges to install on the lid of a built-in toy box under a bay-window. It was primarily to provide safety for our grandchildren when they open the vertical-opening lid (weight approx. 10 lbs.) A side benefit is that the hinges also restrict the lid from going past 90 degrees and crashing into the plantation shutters mounted in the bay-window. They work well.

It lifts slowly to full extent, then, when closing it catches the last few inches and lightly snaps shut automatically.

If you have overhead cabinet with a door lifting up, these lifts are a must. Expensive, but good choice in the long run.

I installed the Lift-O-Mat N100 Gas Springs on a cabinet door with a mirror on it in my travel trailer. They worked extremely well for more than 2 years, but the springs have weakened over time and now they will not support the door with the mirror and only will hold the door about half way open.

Very quick and easy install. Less that 10 minutes per door. It had a very nice lifting action on the door. My customer was thrilled.

I received good service from Rockler, however, I was disappointed in the gas hinges, for they are way too stiff for the application (cabinet door hinge)and there was no way to adjust the pressure.

I used the shocks on a HEAVY lid for a foyer bench. I did not want my kids to break their fingers. With the Blumotion shock absorbers the lid closes slowly and quietly and opens easily. On problem I had was that the hinge was not very strong so I have to reinforce the hinge.

This is my second set. The original set was purchased several years, but they both began to leak an no longer held the door up. Let's hope this set lasts longer. Very easy to install and functioned great until they lost their charge. It wasn't on a highly used application either.

I used this product in the application of a lid support for a child's play table. Obviously, the lid was horizontal as opposed to the vertical positioning intended for these per their design. That said, the hold-open capability of these is excellent and perform perfectly with one caveat. When the lid is being closed (which requires downward pressure to do so) the last four inches of travel are unsupported. Thus, the lid "slams" shut from about four inches. In my application, this unsupported travel distance was acceptable.

I used these on an overhead door in our motorhome. They replaced a spring loaded lift that did not allow the door to open all the way. The door now opens all the way providing full access to the cabinet opening. They work great.

The product is fine but I used it on a 23" x 37" by 3/4" mdf door, approx 16 to 17 lbs and it failed to keep the door open at all. I found a 250n strut with help from Rockler and it works fine, although its so powerful it is ripping the euro hinges out . Sometimes architects should be made to build the designs they come up to see if it works so us carpenters in the field don't have to go through all the avenues to find it does not.

They are made in Germany. Will last two years. No way of adjusting the pressure strength. I purchased the strongest gas spring hinges sold for my wife kitchen cabinets. They now only open halfway.

I used these on the lid of a plastic box I mounted on the back of my Honda 4 wheeler. They were easy to install and work great!
