I like these clamps. For eight clamps and four squaring aids the value of the deluxe package is good. The squaring blocks are larger than I expected which makes it hard to use for small boxes, using them for larger boxes and cabinet frames provides a very rigid clamping point.

I've used my Clamp-Its for many projects, but the craziest was assembling these 5'x6' picture frames, which are constructed something like a torsion box. Keeping them square was an important priority, and I don't know how else I might have done it. To be honest, I resisted buying these things for a long time, but I like them so much I'm in the process of designing a case for them!

My first impression was not good but I was wrong. This kit is VERY useful for holding 3/4" material for cabinets. It may not be suited for picture frames and is not suited for face frames. I'm using these clamps to assemble a good many plywood cabinets for the garage. The standard size for my project is a 32 x 32 x 16 box of 3/4 birch. Butt jointed using 2.5" screws. I clamp four inside corners and then screw them. I flip the cabinet over and clamp the remaining inside corners and screw them. I can then add the remaining screws and any fixed shelf. The cabinet will be nearly square and easily pulled into perfect alignment with a backer sheet. The clamp it kit works very well to align the sides and to prevent slipping when the screw holes are drilled or nails driven in.

Like the other comment stated, they were good at establishing a 90 degree angle but I didn't care for the clamps. They were rather small and kind of cheap. The project I was working on was only 3/4" wood which worked quite well but using anything bigger than 3/4" wood may cause you to look at other options. I also used other clamps that I had to hold them in place which worked as well. All in all a good product.

I found the 90 degree corners most useful but the larger slide clamps are useless. I had to use other clamps. The clamps supplied are not deep enough and if they were they still do not work, will not tighten up at all they just keep sliding no matter how you hold them to make them work. I should have just purchased the corners. I certainly would not purchase the kit again.

This kit works okay on small projects. However, I have found to get good quality picture frames or boxes you will have to have two sets and do the whole unit at once to keep your corners square.

I am not an experienced wood worker, so it may have just been me. But figuring out which clamps went with which braces in specific situations was not intuitive. There were no instructions in the box at all. Based on the obvious expertise of the company in general I expected a more immediately useful package. For example, I was building a storage box for dining room table leaves. Pretty good size, but because of the way the braces and clamps are designed, I ended up using the small braces and the large clamps for my work...just didn't make sense. The clamps need a broader range of adjustment.

The Clamp-It Assembly squares work good to establish a 90 degree corner, but the included clamps are almost useless. The throat depth of the clamps are too shallow, they don't even reach to the center of the Assembly squares so you are always having to clamp off-center of the Assembly squares. If you are trying to use these on a picture frame, which is usually not as wide as the Assembly square, then the clamps won't even reach the picture if the frame is laying flat on the work bench. I was very disappointed with the included clamps and to make matters worse I actually bought additional clamps which was a waste of money. I would suggest just buying the Assembly Squares individually and then buy some better clamps with a deeper throat capacity.

The 90 degree angles are excellant helpers when assembling a project. However, I gave this product only a fair rating because the moveable jaw clamps will not hold anything when pressure is applied. The clamps are worthless which makes the 90 degree blocks very pricey in this kit. I'm sorry I bought the kit and certainly wouldn't do it again.

The plastic corners work fine but the smaller clamps are garbage. I make clocks and build many small boxes or cases which the corners work well on. I plan on drilling and adding a fastener to clamp ends to try and salvage the clamps.

Small clamps failed on first project. As they were tightened 2 of the 4 clamps popped out of their end cap. Very poor construction. The large clamps slip unless you hold them at just the right angle. Save your money.
Editor note: our customer service team at 800-376-7856 is available to assist with replacement of the defective clamps you have there.

The squares deserve much better than a 2-star rating, but the clamps are so miserable they brought the rating way down. If it weren't for the fact that the clamps have pads, everything would be wrong. They aren't deep enough or long enough, and simply won't exert enough pressure to hold. I bought this set years ago, and have repeatedly made it a point to lose it... until I forget why I didn't like it. If you're building something with 4 sides, try the Rockler strap clamps instead. Those are worth a 5-star rating, easily.

I would have to agree with Al. The clamps aren't deep enough to provide adequate clamping, although the squares do help to make a good 90 degree corner. I also bought an additional set. I suggest engineering clamps with a deeper throat.
