It does not register as well when compared to my friends better unit and is not useable for real applications. I would not purchase this again. I think an investment into a better unit would be money well spent. In hindsight I would spend $100 or more on another unit rather than purchasing this one.

4) Submitted by Jim Jett, from Loudon, TN on 2/11/2008 Customer Rating: The only place it would give a reading was against my skin,or a piece of green bamboo. It would not give any reading on wood being used in the shop or wood in storage in barn attic. I am returning it.

First unit did not work, the second unit did not work, guess what saved myself a trip took the money back right away. I would go to the better units when the time comes. [] if you do [buy] try it before leaving.

Each time tested readings were higher in moisture than the previous. Check same stack or lumber all cut into lumber on same log same day readings from 6% to28% Would not buy another one.
