Not a bad deal, I wasn't sure if I'd ever get the chance to use it and thought it's better to have it on hand then to wish I had it when I needed it. But low and behold, the opportunity came about when I was fitting some lining to a Humidor. All the lining edges had to be on a 45 degrre angle and using the mirco adjuster made it very easy to fit them, Thanks Rockler!!

When I bought the Micro Adjuster I knew I was going to have to adapt it to my fence bracket. I took a piece of scrap wood and cut to the size I thought would work. I than fastened it with double sided tape to see if the Micro Adjuster would work right. It worked fine. I than removed the block of wood, drilled and counter sunk two #6 screw holes to fasten the block of wood too the saddle of my saw fence. When I need to make fine adjustments, I fasten the Micro Adjuster next to the wood block as seen in the photo and make my fine adjustment.

Bought it before Christmas at great price. Works as advertized, magnets strong enough to hold it on my Biesemeyer fence. My on off switch is in the way so can't use it on cuts below 5 inches until I remount the power switch. Front of micro-adjustr hangs 4 inch below top of fence rail. Still find myself thumping as it is faster then setting up and using the micro-adjuster.

Bravo, Rockler! I recently converted my Craftsman/Ryobi table saw to a Delta fence. I missed my old micro-adjuster which could not be adapted. This micro-adjuster is easy to use, very acurate, and as someone else said, it sure beats tapping the fence!

It was working fine until I bumped the handle and the unit came apart at the seam. After reading other reviews about the same problem, I called Rockler and shared my problem and they are sending me a new one. That's what I call service. Thanks!!!

Very good deal at pre-Christmas discounted price. Works well with my Delta fence. Quality and strength of magnets were better than expected. Goes on and off very easilly and stores on anything metal with its magnets.

Purchasers should check their saw for a non-aluminum front. The product only works on steel table-tops!

If this product had more or stronger magnets it would rate an excellent. As others have noted, with some fences (mine is a Jet XActa fence) it slips because of the fence's resistance. If I help the adjuster by holding it to the fence with my hand it works great. I haven't fiddled with the fence yet to see whether I can make it more moveable.

I have a problem with this product as my front fence is aluminum. Even using it on the table the step in the adjuster won't allow the magnets to work. The next time I'm in Indy I will probably take it back. The product is fine my Jet saw is the problem.

This a great product. My old Ridgid had a fine adjuster built into the fence. I did not think it would work with the fence on my Proshop when I first opened it. I had to extend the right side of the fence to make contact with the adjuster head.

Last year I bought a router table and wound up buying a micro-adjuster for that - and I was very glad I did. When I saw this version of that product I knew I was just anal retentive enough to use this and I have several times since I got it. Since I upgraded to a much better table saw I find myself striving higher quality in my work and this tool fits that perfectly.
Thank you very much, Rockler!!

Great idea and it works well with my Craftsman Cabinet Saw with a Bisemeyer Fence. However, the quality of this adjuster could have been better. Mine split apart right where the screw passes through the body, within the first year of ownership. I repaired it by drilling a small hole through the body and inserting a small bolt with a washer on each side and secured it with a lock washer and nut. Now it is a nice accessory to my table saw. If it had not split apart I could have given it a 5-star rating.

This device would probably work well as described by other customers. However, mine came apart when getting out of the box. I tried to Super Glue it back together, but when attempting to test it the glue joint did not hold. I probably will return it for a refund and absorb the cost for shipping.

This looked like just what I needed to go with my new Biesemeyer fence and Wixey digital readout, but I checked before ordering, and sure enough, the readout rail sticks out too far. Rather than saw the thing off, I'll build my own using Rockler strong magnets and a fine-thread bolt, and make it to mount on top of the fence rail instead of on the front. Seems to me it would work better that way anyway, by putting the thrust line in a better place relative to the fence guide surfaces, so maybe it won't bind as much. Plus, I can make it out of something solid like steel and wood. Re measuring from the handle, wouldn't it be easy to count threads/inch, take the reciprocal to get in./thread, and mark the handle in .001"? Rockler: how about making a durable, top-mountable version with scaled index marks? I'd buy it if I weren't already making one.
Editor's note: Good idea for our product developers Pete.
We don't usually post unrelated photos, however given the breathtaking view we're making an exception.

Okay, this time I'll attach a relevant photo. Here's a fine adjuster that I think will do the job for setups that obstruct a vertical fine adjuster. I made it of oak and apple wood, fine-thread 7/16" rod and 2 nuts, and a pair of $3 hardware store magnets. Cost ~$12 + couple hours work. Mounted on top, the adjuster needs extra reach to clear a Biesemeyer fence, and this version is probably heavier and bulkier than necessary. At 20 tpi and 1.5" knob diameter, 0.001" travel = 3/32" of knob rotation, in case I ever need better resolution than the .005" of the digital readout. Now let's see if I reach for this more often than a rubber mallet or the heel of my hand...

The micro-adjust attachment works great, but with two important modifications in my case. I use a standard 10" Delta Contractors table saw with a 54" SHOP FOX Classic fence system.
However, due to the addition of a Wixey digital readout system for my fence, the Rockler micro-adjuster had to be modified by cutting the vertical length (where the handle finger-hold is) down by about 1-1/2" so it could be used in conjunction with the readout system.
Without this modification the micro-adjuster wouldn't work since the readout system has its own sensor rail under the table saw fence rail and it sticks out from under the upper fence rail by about 1/2". That made it necessary to shorten the micro-adjuster handle so it could fit in between the upper and lower rail systems.
With both the digital readout and the micro-adjuster, the fence can be adjusted to within an accurately measured .001".
If I had to make one suggestion on this products design, it is that my SHOP FOX fence system is quite heavy and the micro-adjuster, even with three strong magnets, tended to slide sideways to the right, instead of moving the fence to the left (unless I held it in place).
To fix this, I used a piece of self-stick 220 grit sandpaper on the magnetic face so it grips much better. Having made these two modifications makes this unit invaluable. Now if I miscut a piece, it is miscut with greatest of accuracy possible :^)
If you have a digital readout like I have, this tool is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE. If you don't have such a readout, the tool would still allow extremely fine adjustments when you only need to take small cuts when fitting critical parts or fitting dado grooves precisely. Happy woodworking...

I love this thing! If the cursor on your table saw is zeroed, you can sneak up on an adjustment without having to make a test cut (I usually make one anyway). No more bumping the fence back and forth. I just wish that I knew how much distance there was between the index marks on the handle.
Editor's note: The indexing marks on the handle are not designed to represent a specific measure of movement. They are only intended to give one a visual sense of how much one is turning the handle.

I found this micro-adjuster just the thing to tweak the fence on my Powermatic 66 back and forth to achieve precise fits on joints. Like the editor said, be sure that you release the lock on your fence before trying to make the adjustment or you'll just push the adjuster body back along the fence guide rail. As long as the fence is unlocked, I've never had a problem with the magnets on the adjuster not being strong enough to prevent movement. My one gripe with the unit is that it's made of two molded plastic shells glued together around the adjustment screw. A *really minor* knock on the handle of mine cracked the glue joint. It still holds together, but is prone to re-cracking. (Cyanoacrylate doesn't seem to bond the plastic strongly enough, I haven't gotten around to trying another adhesive.) IMHO, there should be some sort of a metal ring press-fit over the two plastic halves to strengthen it. Other than that this ruggedness issue though, I'm very pleased with the operation of this gadget.

I purchased this on sale and I think that it is a good value for that price. I have used the micro adjust many time & it works well and is easy to use. They only complaint that I have is that I was walking by my table saw and slightly bumped the handle on the micro adjust and the entire casing broke in half. After looking at it a little more I noticed that it was only spot glued in about 4 spots. I was able to put it back together with some model glue, but I would have thought it should have been put together better. I hope that it does not break again.

I find the Micro Adjuster very useful but added one simple feature and had to make an adjustment for my saw. The simple feature was to write numbers next to the major graduation marks. The adjustment was required because the index tab on the fence prevented the Micro Adjuster from sitting solidly on the top of the fence rail. I glued a length of old broom stick to the end of the Micro Adjuster bolt and then covered it with shrink tube (See photo).
Here's an example use: Need to make a cut wider than the saw blade, but it's not worth taking the time to set up a dado or router. Set the fence for the first cut, then, for example, rotate the Micro Adjuster 2.5 times to move the fence over just less than a saw blade width. Make the second cut. Repeat as needed.

The micro-adjuster is a good idea, but sometimes, the screw pushes the adjuster back on the fence rail instead of pushing the fence. I solved this problem by putting a clamp against it when adjusting, but that is a bit of a pain.
Editor's note: Readers, be sure to view steps for use under the "Details" folder tab in this offer.
Also, be sure fence is not tightened down when using micro-adjuster to allow for movement.

It's a really great idea but it very cheaply built. Made from light plastic it can crack very easily. If you have a heavy fence the microadjuster tends to not have srong enough magnets to hold it in place. The microadjuster gets pushed back instead of your fence, possibly screwing up your precise fence position. If you get used to using it, and you handle it gently it can pay off, but overall I wasnt impressed.
Editor's note: Readers, be sure to view steps for use under the "More Info" folder tab in this offer.
Also, be sure fence is not tightened down when using micro-adjuster to allow for correct movement.

What part of "Magnet" don't you get?

Ordered this online and then found it too long to hang on the saw fence rail due to my prior installation of a Wixey Table Saw Fence Digital Readout. The rail that the Wixey rides on is just below the table saw fence rail and there is no way to mount the magnetic surface of this adjuster without removing the Wixey rail. My fault for not observing the product pictures more carefully - I'm learning!
The finish on this product is nice. I wonder about the ease of moving the fence to the right with this product in place. Seems it is really all about moving the fence to the left (push and not pull the fence). Wasn't able to test the magnetic force available to hold the adjuster in place while pushing the fence, but seems like it ought to be ample.

Rated it GOOD only because the magnets were not strong enought to hold the micro-adjuster in place. Instead of moving the Biesemeyer type fence on my saw, the micro-adjuster was pushed backward. Otherwise, it might be a good investment for a band saw fence, etc.

I have to ask: Why would anyone buy a product that has the word "MAGNET" in the product name for an aluminum fence? And then blame the product because it won't stick to your aluminum fence? The product name and description make it obvious that it won't work on aluminum, Come on, people!
Personally, I found the product to be outstanding right out of the box. I have a Delta-made Craftsman cabinet saw with a Besemeyer fence and it sticks to it quite well. There is plenty of room on the bottom to drill additional holes to mount additional rare Earth magnets if my fence ever becomes sticky enough or the rail slick enough to make the device move. I give it a 4 instead of a five because I see room for a few minor tweaks, and I just don't give five stars for something unless I can't see any way to tweak it. I'm buying a second one today as a gift for a friend because I like mine so much.
