Self-closing hinges are an ideal for cabinets. The built-in spring pulls the door closed and holds it in a closed position, eliminating the need for catches.
Soft-closing hinges have an adjustable action that, when your door is pushed closed, automatically takes over and brings your door to a whisper-soft close.
Free-swing hinges are most often used in furniture applications, rather than cabinet applications. |
|
| Use
the chart to determine how many hinges you'll need for the height and weight
of your door.
A door
that is 43'' high and weighs 14 lbs. requires three hinges. If your door
is only 24'' high but weighs 14 lbs., go with three hinges for maximum
support and stability.
Use
on 5/8'' - 3/4'' doors unless otherwise noted. |

Product worked perfectly as described. Small right angel drill used as screwdriver made installation easier.

I've used these hinges on two different cabinet projects so far and like them. I haven't been able to find any others that are totally concealed for a 3/8 lipped door. Just a couple words of caution, make sure to leave at least 5/8 of an inch between the edge of the face frame and cabinet side. The hinge screws to the back of the face frame and needs this amount of room. One last note, I found that its much easier to screw the hinges to the face frame before you fasten the face frame to the cabinet. One other option is to leave the back of the cabinet off until the hinges are installed so you have a litte more working room. Overall the hinges and the motion they produce are very nice and I will use them again.

I recently retrofitted 38 doors in a kitchen. These were the only concealed hinge I could find to do the job. I took the doors to a cabinet shop, and for much less than I would have spent at the house had the doors properly bored. This made the installation straight forward as every door had the exact distance from top and bottom to center of hinge. I simply made a gauge block to use for mounting the bottom hinge plate to the faceframe, snapped the door in place and screwed off the upper hinge plate.
The hinges work well and have plenty of adjustment. I will use them again.

These hinges are the perfect solution to retrofitting older cabinet doors. I recently installed 15 pair in a kitchen and the result was great. A couple of things to consider:
- The mounting plates work well but the installation is rather tedious. I found if you use a self tapping hexhead screw to mount the bracket to the face frame it makes it a million times easier because you don't need to pre drill or fight to keep the phillips head engaged on the provided screws.
- I found that the mounting brackets are made specifically for 3/4" face frames. I had to drill new mounting holes in the bracket to move the base closer to the face of the cabinet because the face frames were 5/4" material.
- finally, just make sure you have a right angle drill or compact drill for these
Overall these are awesome!

Very good product -- found that the bracket that hooks to the cabinet was very hard to install. Getting tools and hands in the small space was very frustrating.

This is a decent hinge and the only 'Euro' type hinge I could locate for a lipped door. Installation was straightforward and I am certainly pleased.
