I have had this set for about a year. I have had no serious issues. Smooth cuts and very sharp. You have to use the shims for standard size cuts1/2", 1/4" etc. Overall great product for the price!

I love this dado set! I bought it to replace a cheapie set I have been using for a couple of years. I haven't experienced any of the arbor fitting issues that some others have. For the price you really can't beat the quality of cut in all types of wood. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone. A case to store the blades would have been nice but its nothing I can't build myself.

Great dado set for the money. I can't believe the expensive sets cut better then this set. Yes they are snug on the arbor but they should fit snug you wouldn't want any slop when cutting dados. Has far as the box I'd rather spend the money on good blades then on a storage container and these are great blades. Dados are flat and exact you can't ask for more.

Same comment as many others: REALLY hard to get off the arbor of my Unisaw...took longer to remove than make the four cuts. But it does cut exceptionally smooth compared to the two previous dado sets I've owned. Super sharp-almost impossible not to nick a finger when getting the blades on and off. Packaging is good for shipping purposes, poor for shop storage.

This blade is awesome! It fits a little snug on the arbor but if it was loose then i'd have a real problem! I recomend this dado to any one with a 2 horse power saw or better thanks.

This blade works very well and is a very good value for the money. The only down side I have found is the packaging and the shims. The shims are undersized when checked with a micrometer. The packing isn't very user freindly when it comes to repacking. If there was a wood case with a center storage pin it would be perfect.

I bought the Oshlund 8" earlier in the year. Recently got around to using it to build a magazine / CD rack to clean up some clutter. Cut a whole bunch of dados for the shelves and was really impressed by the way the dado performed.
The set is terrific, the two side blades have teeth that are set in bunches so that there is a space for the chippers to fit in. Also helps with ripping type cuts. The description of the product indicates that there are "small groves" in the teeth to allow for glue to settle into. The chippers consist of five teeth spaced equally which I think is better than bunching the teeth on ends.
The thing that made it a five star product:
When I made a setup which included the 1/16 inch chipper, the setup wobbled and made a mess of the dado cut. After much musing and re-stacking I discovered that the problem was that the mounting hole in the 1/16 chipper was under size. After reading Oshlund's warranty blurb I girded myself for a headache. I related my problem to Oshlund by email and within a day I got a reply. Bottom line - within a week I received a chipper. No hassle, fanfare, proof of purchase, product return... Just unexpected excellent service! That, my fellow consumers, is great service. I give the whole ball of wax a 10.
They go on special periodically and I plan to buy another set then.

I got this about a week ago. Set it up today for 3/4" & it came out .720. Added.03 shims & was right on .750.It ran very smooth & cut great. I gave it four stars because of burrs on the shims. As a retired machinest I hate burrs. Easy to get off with a file.

Nice spacers, nice box for storage. Fits somewhat tight on the arbor compared to other blades. VERY SHARP. These buggers chew you up even on the slightest drag against the tips.

Have only made a few test cuts so far. This blade cuts nicely, leaving a smooth bottom with a few barely visible ridges. Instructions say it cuts undersized, and it does! Stacked for a 3/4" nominal width, it was almost 3/32" under!

After contemplating purchasing a $250 dado blade set, I decided to try this $59 set (based on the reviews). I am so glad I did! Pulling these babies from the box, I could just tell that this was a quality product. The individual heft and feel of the individual blades felt solid in my hands and gave me that special feeling that only a quality tool delivers. The blades were a little tight on the arbor but I much prefer that to a sloppy fit. I also like the full sized chippers as opposed to the wing design. Cutting dados into 3/4" oak ply, I got flat bottoms and zero tear out!I am very impressed. In all, I am not convinced that the $250 blade set could have delivered much better results. Though I have no problem spending extra for quality, I feel that I got a high quality tool and saved $200 at the same time. What could be better? For the price, I am considering buying a second set as a spare. By the way, I have noted that some people have expressed dissatisfaction with this blade set coming in a cardboard box. For the money you save, you could build a very nice storage box yourself.

Great set for the money! Used for 3 projects so far without any problems. Works well with my Craftsman table saw and gives smooth work without chipout.

Just getting into woodworking and got this based on the reviews here. Couldn't be happier! This is an excellent set and does a wonderful job. The cost of this makes it an even better bargain.

Good set. Seems to work well on some birch plywood tests and cedar stock. A tad tight getting them on my saw arbor. It would have been nice to have a better storage case for them, rather than the cardboard box.

Works well so far on a Shopsmith, which has less than the 1 1/2 HP motor to drive this heavy little dado set. I don't plan to use it day in and day out, however.

I used this dado set just to check out the cut, I can't believe how fine of a cut this set makes. I cut a 1/4" tongue/groove to see the fit. No gaps, spaces and as smooth as glass. Then I cut just cut a whisper off to make a sliding tonque/groove, again, unbelievably smooth. This would make excellent drawer slides. I can't believe that a $150-$300 set could cut any better. A great bargain for $.

Great set. I chose this one because of the full chippers instead of the "wing" type that's out there. Also more teeth per blade which should mean a cleaner cut. There is a lot more "meat" to spin, but they work great on my 3HP saw.

I made a test cut, across the grain on some walnut. Flat bottom, no tearing or chipping, and fed as easily as my regular combination blade.

I can't imagine a better set, esp for the price. I like that they are undersized a bit for plywood. Stacking the two outside blades, and 4x1/8 chippers gave me a 23/32 dado- perfect for plywood. Swap out one of the chippers for the 3/32 and you're dead on 3/4. Not to mention the included shims and 1/16 blade.

Worked great right out of the box. Instructions were simple, and the stack goes together well with lots of variations. Good smooth bottom cuts.

This is a very good Dado set, however it does not adjust narrow enough for the new 1/4" plywood as advertised. The plywood I have is closer to 3/16" and the blade will not cut narrow enough for a snug fit.

The first dado I made with this set was a 3/4" wide dado and it was like cutting through butter. I am quite pleased with the quality & performance of this dado blade set.

This is an excellent dado set that produces a true flat bottom dado. The number of chipper blades and shims enable very precise measurements. They are as good as dado sets costing much more.

I have found this dado set to be of very high quality and adaptable to many cutting widths. The cuts are smooth and the depths are even due to the relatively many carbide teeth. I was justified in the expense of the purchase compared with less expensive makes and models. I can sincerely recommend this dado set.

These Oshlun dato blades are the best that I've ever used. Having more chipper blades on the stacks make for a really nice smooth cut. I really recommend these blades

Excellent quality, flat bottomed cuts with no chip out even without a backer board. Tried pine(2x4), maple and softwood ply and all cuts were excellent. An excellent buy at the regular price, a steal at the sale price.

I'm sorry to disagree with most of the reviews. I might have gotten a bad blade, but a number of the chippers left a ridge on the bottom of the dado. The fit on the arbor was tight as expected and is desirable. The blade ran absolutely smooth. However, when buying a dado you want a flat bottom from all of the chippers.

I purchased this set a couple of years back, took it home, then promptly returned it and got the Freud Super Dado that i should have gottne in the first place. I've used Freud and Forrest blades in the past, and this dado set simply did not compare with the level of quality I have come to expect from my blades. With the set stacked for a 3/4" dado, the saw vibrated quite a lot, and the extra mass of having solid disc chipping cutters makes my 1HP saw take a lot longer to get up to speed than with the Freud set. (That also means the initial current spike on startup (about 34 amps on my saw) lasts longer, which is not generally good for the motor.)

If you need an inexpensive way to make a slot in the wood, this set will probably do it, but if you need a durable, clean cutting, smooth riunning dado set, I recommend the Freud Super Dado.

This blade is an excellent value! I have used stacked dado blades costing 2x or more as much that performed no better than this blade. The day I got it I put it to the test on two different projects that I was working on - one using oak and the other pine - the results were beautiful flat bottoms with NO tear out whatsoever. It does fit snug on my arbor - but I like that versus any slop. At this price - this blade is a must have. For those who weren't happy with the cardboard box it came in...I agree with Jay...Now that you have this great blade, use it to make a new box!
