I teach in a local high school, I use this blade as my general purpose blade. Softwoods, hardwoods, plywood. Very pleased, leaves little to no splintering, good smooth cuts. I agree there are even higher quality blades out there but this is pretty good bang for your buck!!!

This is hands down the best value blade on the retail market. Freud may have better industrial blades costing several times this price, but these have very special uses. Those other blades, which cost much more suffer by comparison. It sounds to me like Fred Rist's saw needs to be retuned/repaired. If the blade was at fault, Freud will gladly replace it and find out why it failed to perform for Fred. The blade can only perform as well as the saw on which it is used.

I have my own woodworking shop with over 50 years of woodworking experience and have used every quality blade on the market. The Freud 40T Hi ATB Fusion Iin no way compares to the Forrest WWII ATB. The quality of the cross cut and rip of the WWII is unmatched by the Freud Fusion. If you are going to spend $100 on this type of blade, spend somewhat more and purchase the WWII. The results will speak for the superior cutting quality of the WWII.

Please ignore my previous comment -- I dropped my mouse and lost everything.
This blade is very spendy, but well worth it. It cuts as advertised. I did quite a bit of paneling with T & G cedar which is quite soft, and the cuts were like glass, with absolutely no splintering on either the top or bottom of the cut. I recommend it highly.
