These are the best designed pipe clamps on the market with the sure foot design, quality build material ready for accurate heavy-duty usage, predrilled holes for mounting wood blocks for pads, etc. I have sixteen of these clamps at various pipe lengths the Zinc pipe is excellent and well worth the investment for my projects.

I especially like the sure foot design. This allows room to turn the handle. I also like the built in hanger for easy storage. I am using the clamps with black pipe and will just cover the pipe when necessary to prevent staining of oak.

I have about half a dozen of these clamps and about to order more. I have a number of the Pony equivalents and the Sure-Foot Plus is superior in every way.
The two more important differentiators for this product are:
1. The larger, reasonably square jaws -- this provides more contact surface and largely self-squares the work. They're also good for reaching over edge treatments, molding, etc.
2. The high and wide bases/feet on the clamp ends make the clamps much more stable during setup and provide more clearance for operating the handle.
The handle also is a little larger that other brands, providing more leverage and control. The locking mechanism is strong and does not slip, even under very high pressure.
These are a great value and, as they say, you can never have too many :)

These are good quality clamps. The feet give you good raised height as another customer said, but for the price, mostly for those of us who bought the pipes as well, it should had included the pads. I can't understand why not.

These are the only type of clamps to buy in my opinion.Especially, if you do not want to have clamps around that will not do the job you're attempting. These clamps and pipe are strong enough to do the job and will not bend or deflect in/outward. These clamps can be actually used to either; clamp together items, or spread them apart. Unlike some other clamps that use something other than a piece of actual pipe.
Wow, are these pipes shiny and great looking. Plus the do not leave marks on light colored woods.

The clamps are good. The wide base keeps it sturdy. My only concern is the accessories that comes with it. I put on the plastic footing and when I tighten the clamp the plastic start to slip off; I use wooden blockes instead. The plates that came with the clamps are reversed(came on both clamps I bought). I had to flip it around in order to tighten, otherwise when I tighten the clamp keep spinning pushing the other piece back. At an angle, you can see the name of the clamp. Other than that, great product.

These clamps are excellent. I have several of the Jorgensen ones as well. I prefer these as they are more stable and you can hang them on a piece of 1x material. As some mentioned they flex somewhat if your gluing up panels. But as any woodworker knows you must put clamps on both sides of lage panels being clamped. This counter acts any flexing which all clamps do. These are top quality clamps, try them you'll love them.

As one famous woodworker said, "You can never have enough clamps." These fit the bill perfectly. I like the largeer jaws for holding material. They can be made flexible, too, by having different lengths of pipe to put the clamp ends on. I would say a must-have addition to one's "collection" of clamps.

It is a good design, not excellent, but darn good. The cleats for hanging are very nice and work well and these clamps are strong enough for the tough jobs. I’d recommend getting the quick release.
If you are gluing up a 12” section of several pieces of wood, there is enough play in the clamps that the wood will dry bowed. If you need that accuracy, use a different clamp.
I’ve got 4 of these clamps, many different lengths of pipe and use them all and often.

I first bought just the clamps, thinking that I would go to my local plumber for the 3/4" pipe. But it turned out he charged significantly more than the zinc-plated pipe from Rockler that are made for the clamps.
The clamps are great because they're very heavy duty. I don't bust my knuckles tightening them.

These clamps have the best features of any pipe clamp I have used in the past. The extra clearance and the hang up is by far the best ever. I also must add that customer service is excellent. The acme screw threads are a quality concern. They are not smooth working and will probably wear in in time.

These are now my best clamps (first bar clamps I've purchased). I was using Irwin quick release clamps which don't clamp as well. I purchased 4 sets to build some kitchen drawer dividers. Unfortunately, I ran out and decided quickly to purchase another 4 sets. I'd highly recommend the zinc-coated bars and clamp pads too. I was looking at Bessey and other brands bar clamps but am extremely glad I picked up these. Quality on these is very high.

I think these clamps are very high quality & well worth the money. I like the SureFoot bases. The ability too add your own pads through the pre-drilled Holes. The great pressure & the fact that you can make a full revolution with the crank handles without hitting anything surrounding them are both great features. I think I need to buy another set.

One of our kitchen cabinet doors developed a crack. I bought a pair of pipe clamps and a glue syringe package. With the syringe I was able to squirt glue all the way down into the crack which was from the top to the bottom of the door and then clamped the door.
You can't tell where the crack was because I was able to clamp it tightly to bring the wood fibers together again.

I recently purchased these clamps with the zinc pipes, pads and e-z clutch. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest) I rate the clamps and zinc pipe as a 9, the pads as a 2 and the e-z clutch as a 1. The pads are very hard and can mar the surface of the wood being clamped. I corrected this problem by adhering a gasket material to the pad. The e-z clutch causes the clamp to malfunction. I believe this is due in part to the zinc pipe.

I bought 4 sets of these clamps and they work just as advertised. I particulary like the little cleat that alows for easier hanging on wall mounted racks. I also bought the clamp pads, but these are too hard to be useful. I'm concerned about surface marring, so I've replaced them with cork pads which should not mar any surface that I deal with.

I have used a lot of different pipe clamps in my day, but these are the last ones I will ever buy. They are sturdy and high enough I don't hit my knuckles. The larger faces are nice for larger glue ups and attaching cauls for bending glue ups. I found that the zinc pipe offered is nice, but I frequently need more length. I use galvanized pipe ,same as black pipe, but with no spots or rusting. Hanging foot feature is nice for storage.

I have 10 of these and have used them for building cabinets, doors, book shelves, and shadowbox-type frames. I like that they sit off the ground enough to turn the crank without scraping or having to lift the clamp up to clear the ground/workbench. I also like the built-in hook for hanging them out of the way when not in use. Finally, they are simple to use and can be made to any length by buying pipe at the local hardware/home improvement store. I have mine built to range from 6 foot down to 3 foot.

This was my first time using pipe clamps, I did alot of research and price comparsions, Rockler was by far the best. They are very stable and easy to assemble and tighten.

I have about 30 of these in the shop and use them frequently. I've had the threads separate on several of the pipes. One of the best things I have done is cut the pipe in half and threading the second piece so that I have 2' clamps. Those work for a majority of the clamping that I do. I do wish they gave the option of the pipe being like 6' long as I could use that on occasion. Best pipe clamp out there.

These are great pipe clamps. The action is very smooth on both the crank and slide. The feet give you good raised height and a sturdy base that resists tipping. I intend to buy more and replace my other pipe clamps.
The Sure-Foot clamp pads are a nice addition to the pipe clamps (I wish they came with the clamps). They go on tight and won't slip while you're clamping. I haven't experienced any marring.

I bought four clamps based on the clever design and overall high rating. The high feet make them stable and easy to crank. However, I my biggest disappointment was with how much the jaws deflect out of parallel and bow a set of edge-glued boards. In fact, the boards can pop right out of the clamps if you don't clamp them down. I know - put some clamps on top to even out the pressure. OK - but I never had this happen with my Pony clamps.

Very solid clamp, with a large clamping surface and a wide base. The screw (on both my clamps) does bind about 1/2 inch before the full extension of the screw, however. I am using black pipe, and the binding appears to be on the ring around the pipe. Maybe the threads are not quite square to the clamping surface. Otherwise, a big improvement over what I was using before.

I am very impressed with the Sure-Foot clamps. I replaced all of the old pipe clamps (5) in my panel clamping press (to be featured in an upcoming issue of WoodWorker's Journal magazine) with Sure-Foot clamps because the integral hanging bracket simplified the mounting (see photo). Also, the deep jaw face on the tail stop provides increased support for boards while loading into the press.

OK... I have seen these clamps on so many of your catalog covers and have always wandered if they were really any better than the standard "pony" clamps that everyone has used in the past. Well after a few years of thinking about it, I went ahead and bought a pair and now wish that I wouldn't have waited so long to finally try them. They are GREAT! they operate smoothly, they stand off the bench enough to operate the handle without knocking your knuckles on the bench and they are stable by themselves. You don't need any other jig or special blocks to allow them to stay put on the bench. Again I am floored by the quality and innovation of Rockler!

I purchased (4) Sure-Foot Plus 3/4' Pipe Clamps. With them I purchased (2) pair of the 48' Zinc-Plated Iron Pipe Sets. I love them, but I have a problem. When I crank on the handle and it puts pressure on the other end, it slides on the zinc-plated iron pipes. I have used a screw driver to put more pressure on the springs. Some times it holds and some times it does not. I like using them but they are of no value if the clamp does not hold. Is there a solution?
Editor's note: Cleaning the pipe may heavy to remove any substance on the pipe that there might be. If you also have added the E-Z clutches then removal of one of the clutch discs from the clamp itself can give a better gripping action.

The clamps themselves are excellent and I will definitely buy more as the need arises. However, avoid the pipes! I purchased 4 of their zinc pipes and after 3 clampings I already need to replace 3 of the 4 pipes because I actually ripped the pipe apart at the threadings from the force I applied to the clamps. I'm not a big guy, so this is extremely disappointing for that product, and while I have to admit my ego was nicely boosted at the same time, that still doesn't help with my woodworking projects.

I've had a set of four of these clamps for a couple of years. The problem I have always experienced is that they slip. Since none of the other reviewers experienced this problem, I sent an email to Rockler asking, "What am I doing wrong?"
I received a prompt reply, suggesting that I use a clean cloth to wipe oil or residue which might be causing the slippage. Well, I have tried this, to no avail. Two of the clamps slip so badly that they aren't useable.
The favorite clamps for long work in my shop are Jorgensen Pony bar clamps that I've had for 20 years or more. They are lighter duty than the Rockler clamps, but they hold without any slippage.
