These stabilized burls drill and turn like the regular exotic wood blanks, but pack a lot more eye candy than any straight-grained wood blank. I saw this one at the store in Orange, CA. It was one of a few in the bin that had streaks where the dye had not penetrated evenly (most were more evenly colored). The blank was a pink color, but I was pleased as I applied the finish to see the color darken to a rich red wine color.
