Wine Box Elder Burl Pen Blank

Create a handsome, natural pen with beautiful figured burl. These blanks are stabilized with resin to ensure smooth turning and can be polished to a gleaming finish. Each blank is sold individually.

Blanks measure at least 5-1/4" long and at least 3/4" square. Made with AcryliWood™ high-tech wood stabilization process. Resin stabilizes the wood, beautifies the grain, and improves turning properties. Boxelder (Manitoba Maple) is a hardwood with excellent turning properties.

1) Submitted by David T., from Cypress, CA on 5/11/2008 Customer Rating: These stabilized burls drill and turn like the regular exotic wood blanks, but pack a lot more eye candy than any straight-grained wood blank. I saw this one at the store in Orange, CA. It was one of a few in the bin that had streaks where the dye had not penetrated evenly (most were more evenly colored). The blank was a pink color, but I was pleased as I applied the finish to see the color darken to a rich red wine color.
