Let's face it, no woodworker particularly enjoys cleaning saw blades or router bits, so the easier we can make it, the better. This kit does just that, combining an extremely effective saw blade cleaning solution with two conveniently-sized containers that allow you to soak your blades and bits and let the blade cleaner do the brunt of the work for you. A brass brush is also included to whisk away the more stubborn particles. With clean, cool-running cutters, you'll get more precise cuts, a longer cutter life and spend far less on sharpening costs.

It is amazing! It performed as advertised it took and old dirty blade and refreshed it new condition. It worked so well it took the manufacture label off I would recommend this product to a friend. As retired person who used this basic process in an industrial profession this is perfect for home use after four hours of soaking.

This kit did a good job on all my saw blades. I was hesitant to do any cleanup, but the process was easy. It took just about 15 minutes to clean 2 very dirty saw blades. I used a 3:1 mixture.

I have used this product for a few months , and am very satisfied. I would recommend a 2 to 1 solution as some of the previous reviews did. I liked the convex design as it allows the blade teeth to be surrounded by the cleaning solution. I stored the used solution in the container, and checked after a few days, and noticed the top had come loose. After securing it again, it seems to stay closed. The brass brush does come apart when cleaning the blade. I think a better brush should be included. Over all this a very usefull product and I would recommend it.

Overall, the kit did a very good job cleaning my blades. The only recommendation I have is the next time I use the kit I will use a 2:1 mix versus 3:1 as per instructions. It took two treatments to clean my blade and it wasn't that dirty.

This basic kit does exactly what is needed to quickly clean our framing business' 100 tooth blades quickly 5 minute soak in a 50:50 cleaner/water mix. Another 5 minutes for brush scrubbing and drying the blades, and you are good to go! Twenty minutes time spent for saving $75/set at the machine shop that was sharpening for us, sounds like I'm being paid the equivalent of $225/hr. for this simple task, plus I don't wait 2 weeks to get my blades back from the sharpener. I have used simple green previously, and it works fine, but nowhere near as well as the Rockler provided cleaner.
Great Product, Great Price. Thank You!

I needed to cleam some saw blades and since I was placing an order from Rockler, I decided to take a chance on this product. I was somewhat worried after reading some of the reviews, but those worries disappeared just like the pitch on my blades. I mixed the cleaning solution as directed and left my dirty blades soak for about 10 minutes while I did other work. When I brushed the blade teeth, the pithc just fell off. Within minutes I had a clean blade. The large pan worked great with no problems and the slight ridge in the middle kept both sides exposed to the cleaner. I wasn't planning on storing the cleaner in the plastic pan, so I really didn't care if the lid fit or not, but I also worked great. This stuff was fantastic. Even the brass brush worked great. My only advice is to put an old rag or something in the bottom of the pan when you are brushing off the teeth or else the teeth will tear up the bottom of the pan. Also, I was cleaning Freud blade and some of the coating came off in the solution turned it reddish colored, but that could have been from leaving it in longer than suggested. The blades are all cleam and are working great no more burnig wood on rips. Great product.

This product is the best. It even works better hot. Mix the recommended amount and soak for a minute or two. I heat it in the jar for a couple of minutes then poor it into the pan. You don't even need a brass brush. A good stiff tooth brush works as well. You can even buy a set of three brushes (ie; brass, stainless steel, white bristle) at most hardware stores for $1.00

I had many saw blades that needed cleaning, and was looking for a product that would do a thorough job.
This product came through with flying colors!
I used the concentrate in its undiluted state...and let each blade sit for 10 minutes!wearing a pair of rubber gloves...I raised the blade from the liquid and used to brass brush to go over each tooth,...and did both sides.
I tried out a newly cleaned blade...and no burn and all the pitch was removed. No need to pay for an expensive sharpening. It's mostly the buildup of residue from the wood.
Following the cleanup of 6 blades,I strained the cleaner through some mesh screening plastic available at any box store. It's usually used for replacement of screened doors and windows.
After the first screening to remove the heaviest material,I placed several layers of screening together and poured the cleaner through it.
The process, although a bit time consuming, allowed me to reclaim most of the cleaner, and return it to it's original container.Buy a small set of funnels available at most hardware, auto or box stores.
Simple Green and many of the concentrated cleaners will also do an adequate job as the Rockler cleaner.
Wash the blue blade container with hot soapy water, dry off,and return to it's box...ready for service the next time you need to clean blades.
I highly recommend this product, and the price is very reasonable.

Wow, I'd really never considered cleaning my blades before. Purchased the product and used it for the first time yesterday. I was absolutely amazed at how quick and easy it worked. The pitch on my blades just wiped off after a quick soak. This product exceeded my expectation. Thanks Rockler.

I had tried to clean some saw blades with other products, none of which did a good job. They were all messy or dangerous to use. The kit from Rockler was neat, clean, and self-contained. It worked well the first use on some saw blades, and later on some router bits.

I hadn't cleaned my blades in awhile. I put it off because the last product I used was nasty. I had to use it outside the odor was so strong. It was a messy & smelly job.

I was very pleased with Rockler Blade cleaning kit. The pan makes it much easier to clean the blades without the mess. The ring in the bottom keeps the blade from suctioning to the bottom as they use to when I used a cookie sheet. The cleaning solution seems to be very effective and has a nice odor to it as well. It quickly dissolved the build up on the blades with only a gentle scrubbing using the enclosed wire brush.

When I was done I just snapped the top on the pan and put it away until next time. With this kit I won't wait so long between blade cleanings.

This product works very well. I was looking for a fluid container that would not only hold my 10” table saw blades, but also my 12” radial arm saw blades. This container meets the challenge. It is a good solution for cleaning my 12” radial arm saw blades. The slight upward bevel of the bottom, and the larger diameter, makes it easy to lift the blade. I was concerned about the warping and cracking of the container that others had mentioned. After 3 months my container, filled with cleaning solution, is fine and the top stays well sealed. Oh, and the cleaning solution works very well too.

The kit and the cleaning solution work great. Removed very old resin and pitch from very old blades in no time. Made from high quality material similar to tupper-ware or rubber made containers. I gave it four stars becuase the lid has a "memory" and won't stay closed. I set a brick on mine. As always shipping was very fast.

Product works as stated, but I have three gripes: (1) the container warps at the bottom requiring more solution than would otherwise be necessary to cover the blade, (2) the top of the container does not fit well and pops off, making it problematic to store the container with solution in it, (3) there is no indication on the bottle of concentrate as to the nature of its contents, meaning that I am hooked into Rockler for future purchases instead of being able to pick something up at a local hardware store.

Cleaned my 12" blade great. Would have given this item an excellent rating but the container for the blade did not come with a spout for pouring the liquid back into the original jug. :( The product does what it suppose to do though. Hopefully, after each project out comes this cleaning solution for the 10" and 12" blades with my router bits.

Received the product without any damage. I was able to clean some very "cruddy" saw blades, a couple of which I haven't used for years because they were so dirty with pitch build-up. This solution really works and I like the idea that I can save te solution and use it again. Great product that I would recommend to others and will order again when I need it.

I had planned on using a product on hand like oven cleaner or various commercial cleaners such as Simple Green. After investigating the subject on the Internet I found that oven cleaner can weaken the bond holding the carbide teeth to the blade and Simple Green can cause hydrogen embrittlement. Why take a chance? I ordered the saw blade cleaning kit and it worked great! Just a couple minutes soak time and all the burned on resin came right off. The only reason I rated the product 4 stars instead of 5 is the price, seems a little high...but it works and it is safe.

I received the product on the he day the tracking ticket said it would be delivery. No damage at all. I use the cleaning kit after 2 days of arrival. I manage to clean all 12 blades with one solution. I even follow direction on the pitch/resin bottle. Work excellent. I ever use it on my saw guard and router bits; again excellent removable. Some of these blades I been using since 1985 and they came clean!! AGAIN thanks for just a wonderful product and service.

I received this item as a Christmas gift. I will not need to use it for an extended period of time; however, I did open the box to make sure the container was ok. Based on reviews by others for this product, I noted a good many mentioned their containers arrived with a crack or a hole.
Sure enough, my container had a hole in it. Oddly enough, there was no damage to the shipping box. I believe the items that are shipped inside the container caused the damage. They are not secured. Most likely the bottle containing the pitch remover is the primary suspect.
I called Rockler to report the issue. New container to be shipped. Typical Rockler - very good customer service response.

Solution worked well on saw blade and router bits. A bit smelly so use in ventilated area. Container bottom warped nearly 3/8 high in center requiring extra fluid to cover blade. Rockler did send a replacement container, but that suffered from same problem.

I have cleaned 8 blades so far, mixing a solution of 6 cups of water and 2 cups of claner. This makes it deep enough to place two blades at time into the bath. I used two plastic cold drink straws to place on top of the bottom blade. This prevented the suction between the two blades.
I worked at other things and left them to soak. They came out completely clean after an easy brushing with the provided brush.

The cleaning solution worked well on my first two saw blades. I soaked them longer than recommended (overnight) but the pitch buildup came off easily with the included wire brush. Disappointed with the plastic container. Similar problems as reported by other poster. The lid is warped and appears oversized. Very difficult to get on and pops back off immediately. The container bottom is also warped (high in center) requiring extra cleaning solution to immerse the blade.

I received this kit over a month ago and finally got it out to use this weekend. The pan was damaged, so I called customer service. I expected to have to package the damaged one and return it, but to my surprise a replacement is in the mail. How cool is that? I cleaned a 10" table saw blade and one router bit, both of which came clean in only a few minutes. I'm especially pleased that I can put the lid on and save the solution for the next cleaning. I was using the cut-off bottom of a 5-gallon bucket and the cleaning solution was wasted after one use. This is a much better idea, and worth the price. I also like the small plastic container for router bits - I nice bonus. Two thumbs up!

I did contact customer service as suggested by the Editor below. I felt bad since I allowed the package to sit for over a month before opening and not realising the damage. Mine arrived damaged. I put it on the shelf without examining and a month later go to use it and the container had a nice hole in the side. A shame.
However, I used the Pitch and Resin Remover and it works great! I mixed mine 2 to 1. I had quite a bit of pitch on these blades. They are like new now. The pitch came off like butter. Real good solution.
This is a good kit. The container has a raised bottom so the blade teeth are suspended in the solution allowing all around soaking. I would recommend this kit to anyone.

Does exactly what it should. The pan is just the right size for 10" blades, so you can be economical in mixing the cleaning solution. I use the proportion listed, using a small plastic food box that holds 1/2 cup, and 2:1 makes enough to just cover the blade. In my experience, there is no need to scrub if you're willing to let the blade sit in the pan and maybe shake it from time to time. Last time I used it, I left it for a few hours, and it was shiny clean without using the brush. The only way to improve this kit would be to include a measuring device for mixing the liquids, but you can find that cheaply in the kitchen section of any department store (don't use it for food though!).

The solution did help get my saw blades clean, but only after soaking the blade for at least several hours (much longer than the directions) and briskly scrubbing the blade teeth. During the scrubbing process the brass brush included was damaged by the blade teeth and is no longer functional. The container for cleaning router bits was broken in the shipment and has since been replaced by Rockler. The included blade bath container is great for saw blades, but I've used better cleaning solutions. The brass brush only lasted for the 4 blades I cleaned after getting the kit.

Great Product. High Quality Materials that will last. The included solution did wonders removing 4+ years of pitch from my 12" miter saw blade, used exclusively for cutting 2X4s. It took a little elbow grease, but the blade cuts like new again.
I echo the other reviews that called for a spout or a drain plug. This would be a nice addition, and I'm suprised they didn't design it that way initially.
This product worked great on my router bits, a pruning saw, and a chain saw chain, as well.

I used this kit to clean 1 10" Freud red-coated 60 tooth blade & 2 uncoated Freud blades. I mixed the solution as directed, put the red coated blade in it, left the shop for about 30 minutes. When I returned I found liquid on the worktable, discovered an almost invisible crack in the sidewall of the pan. Managed to get enough tape over the crack to stop the leak. Tried to clean the 1st blade with the brass brush after about a 1 hour soak, in 30 minutes I got both sides reasonable clean, used a snall file handle to poke out the softened gum between the teeth. I poured the remainder of the concentrate in the pan & stirred it, let it soak another hour, dried it. I let the 2 other blades soak for 24 & 48 hours, finally gave up & quit. Both were reasonably clean. I examined the shipping box & found no damage, dent, etc.leading me to conclude the pan was cracked before shipping. This is the 1st time I have received anything from Rockler that was not perfect & shipped promptly.

Worked great. I had been searching [discount stores] and the likes for a plastic container large enough but this was the first, the lid a plus. I diluted the solution but I will try warm water next time. I didn't save the solution this time since I used to clean seven circular saw blades (the good Freud's weren't too bad) but my cheap [] stamped blades had pitch caked on their from cutting up pallets for firewood; with a little elbow grease, 95% of the burnt on pitch came off. I used a tooth brush along with the brass brush that came with the kit.

Exactly what I have been looking for. There are a lot of products that do a good job cleaning blades, but this one is safer and easier than most. The solution is non-toxic, it works quickly, and the container is a high quality plastic that won't crack or get brittle. The spill proof lid allows you to store the cleaner in the container permanently, always ready for use.
A good product.

Works as advertised, cleans the blade well. I didn't dilute the solution, and when I was done cleaning I poured the solution back into the bottle for reuse. Wish the tub had a pour spout like the other blade cleaning kit from Rockler. I liked this one because it has a lid (so you can soak overnight), and raises the blade up from the bottom. I also wish it had a 'bolt' for the saw to sit on so you could easily rotate the blade in the solution while brushing the gunk off.

I had looked around for a large plastic container to hold cleaning solution plus my 12" saw blade so this really fit the bill. I was somewhat disappointed though that the lid came unsealed after I had left the pan and lid in my un-airconditioned garage overnight. I tried pushing the lid back on but saw that the lid appeared to have expanded more than the pan. The lid color is a slightly different shade of blue than the pan and perhaps this explains the differing thermal properties of the two components.

The solution does a great job and performs as advertised. I'm disapointed with the large blue tub. When purchased, I liked the idea that I could leave the solution in the blue container, and simply close the "tupper ware" like lid. This worked for about 24 hours, then the action of the chemicals on the plastic caused the seal of the lid to relax. Now the lid won't stay on properly, and is curled up to the point where it is not functional as a seal. Every time I clean a blade, I have to empty the contents of the tub into an old milk jug.

The pan works fine for cleaning, but I bought it so I could store the mixed cleaning solution in the pan from one cleaning to the next. Unfortunately, one day on the shelf and the lid opened and curled up leaving a 1/4" gap about 1/3 around the circumference of the pan.
With a gap that large the solution will evaporate in short order. So, now I must pour the solution into another container for storage. Had I known this I would not have purchased this product.

I've had this now for a couple of years. The blade bath is basically a large snap lid food container type that you may find in the kitchen, but with features like a ring to keep the blades off the bottom to allow cleaner to circulate. It is sized perfect. I can clean everything from my 6" dado blades to the 12" blades for my sliding miter saw. Follow the directions, and the most gunked up nasty blades become brand new clean. I cut a lot of southern yellow pine, so pitch is a big problem, blades that I would have thought were dull were actually just dirty. Clean them up and they cut like brand new. I rated this as "Good" and not Very Good or Excellent though because after about 2 years of relatively infrequent hobbyist use, the lid on my container has started to split. I will likely replace it with a new one, but am not very happy this happened. Aside from this one problem, it has worked flawlessly for me...

My wife bought me this kit as a gift. It's a good idea that is executed poorly. The bottom of the large blue plastic pan is so deformed that it sets up about 3/4". This "hump" in the middle then forces you to use much more cleaning solution to cover your saw blade than is necessary. I threw the pan away and got a heavy duty one from Fleet Farm which lies flat. The solution that comes with the kit works all right, but so does a lot of other products. For me this was a waste of money.

The cleaning solution is fine. The blue tub is 14" in diameter, which is very large. That's a fault for two reasons: First, it takes too much fluid to fill for a 12" or 10" blade, let alone for a smaller blade! and second, it is pretty large for storage when shelf space is limited anyway. If you're running a good ol' sawmill, the tub would be too small, but for the normal woodworking shop, better to just get the cleaning solution and find a couple of nesting RubberMaid tubs that fit the blades we normally use.

I diluted the solution as directed and put four blades in sepetated by a plastic lid and let them soke for about 10 min and they came clean with a little scrubing with the included brush. I was suprised at the dado blade that I put in because I had used it to cut a 3 1/2in dato in about 150 4x4's and there was a lot of pitch build up on them. I agree with onther comment that it would be nice to have a poring spot or removeable plug to drain the solution when you are finished cleaning the blades but other wise it works as advertized. A good buy.

"Every time I have been in a Rockler store around the country I have left feeling that I received wonderful service and most always had exactly what I needed in stock at a fair to great price. the only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I have to drive over 45 minutes to reach the nearest Rockler store. My wife probably appreciates that distance, as I am certain that if one was as close as I wished it to be, we would have very little left in our checkbook!"
