Too many clamps? Not on your life. These are certainly a great addition to my shop. 8" are perfect. Handles are sturdy. Got them on sale and with "free shipping" it was the perfect. Very satisfied with this purchase. Go Rockler. You're #1.

I am very pleased. I bought several at competitor for $2 more each and although they work, the handle isn't as good and the metal was tarnished. Deciding I needed more I found that they were on sale at Rockler and with the amount of my order I got free shipping! They arrived in perfect condition, look and feel great.

I ordered the product because the price was right. The clamps were better than expected and I would recommend them to any woodworker. Hand screws' best asset is that they allow clamping at odd angles were C or bar clamps won't do the job. Very satified with purchase.

Very sturdy clamps and are at a super price. Although they do not clamp down as tight as the more expensive Jorgenson brand. Not sure if Jorgenson uses a finer treaded rod or machined smoother or higher quality metal.

The old comment of "you can never have enough clamps" is very true. These might not be my first choice for a project but they are certainly of good quality and work as they should. I have other "off brands" and they don't work so well. I would recommend these to anyone and would buy them again.

Great buy for the special price offered. I bought 4 pair and have used them all. One cannot have too many clamps. The threads are clean, the wood is blemish free, and although I could almost feel one of the grips twist, it didn't and held fine. For me, I wouldn't get the rubber grips. I would wonder about applying too much torque. These clamps are a tool for holding with a steady even pressure. They are not bar clamps. For their purpose, they are great.

I have used these clamps for many projects over the years and have found that when holding something down for machining the wooden handscrew clamps don't seem to slip or vibrate loose. I have also used them to hold something together while gluing and seems to hold well and tight as well as doesn't dent your wood like metal clamps. In all it is a very good inveatment.

I'm a woodworking hobbiest. I had several other types of clamps but no wooden handscrew clamps. I'd read the reviews before and was concerned with the quality but when Rockler offered the 12" clamps at half price I decided to buy a couple. I can say that I'm very happy with the clamps. The wood is free of knots and nicely finished. The screws are sharp with minimal play. They'll definitely do the job. I also bought the rubber hand grips since I have some arthritis in my hands. They do make it easier to grip the handles. As I went on line to enter this review I noticed that the 10" clamps are on sale. I just bought 2 of them.

These are excellant hand screws of the best quality at the best price, especially when you buy them on sale. How can you beat two for one? The acme screw is sharp and clear and the wood of the best quality. I've bought other 'cheaper' quality hand screws before and the differance really shows in the screw definition. Rockler's hand screws ROCK!

Got ten of these on special, and for the special price they were exactly what was promised: Basic handscrew clamps.
If I were buying them at regular price I'd consider going with the Jorgensen brand ones, because the Jorgensen's I've got have a harder wood for the jaws, and the pivot rod/nut bits fit with less slop, and the handle connections on the Jorgensen feel a little less quirky.
However, for a big stash of clamps on the wall, this was a great way to stock up.

Bought 4 of the 8" clamps. One was severly misaligned to the point where it would not open or close without major effort. When I did finally get it closed, the jaws were misaligned by about 1/2". The others were OK, but not quite the quality of other wood handclamps I own. Rockler is replacing the bad clamp for free. Bottom line - they are clearly worth the price I paid, but not heirloom quality.

The clamps are a good value but I've found it impossable to get them closed at tight as I'd like them to go. The finish on the handles are very smooth and don't afford a tight enough grip. The handle grips are a must with the clamps if you want your joints tight.

These clamps are a great price, but the quality of the finish leaves some room for improvement. The clamps appear to have glue or wood filler filling in blemishes on the wood. Not a huge deal, but the glue or wood filler was never sanded down and is raised above the surface significantly. After some sanding on my part, they were at the desired quality. Great buy - but be aware that you may have to spend a little elbow grease on it. All in all - good product, great price, ok finished quality.

I bought four of these inexpensive clamps to use on smaller projects and where a deep jaw is helpful. At this price my expectations were not high. However, these are good quality clamps that can take plenty of torque; more than enough for most purposes for which they might be used. I have other small clamps also, but the jaw length of these clamps fills an important niche.

Who doesn't love the simplicity, usefulness and longevity of a wood handscrew?
The 10" are probably the perfect size for all around use. 2 of them and you've got an adjustable angle bench clamp for smallish parts - they do everything and hold tight and secure. I'd be lost without my 10" handscrews - and I see the price is still not only right but outstanding so it's time to buy more!

The saying "You get what you pay for." doesn't apply here. Compared to the "J" brand's price even at the regular price these clamps are a bargain. These clamps work just as well as the more expensive brand. The quality is great. I think the unfinished wood holds better. I thought maybe these clamps were made with lower quality wood and this would limit the amount of clamping pressure that could be applied. I have used the clamps to hold jigs and stop blocks on my power tools, a place where you want a clamp that you can really tighten and depend on. I have applied as much pressure as I could physically do to these clamps and have had no sign of any failure. I bought four clamps to see how useful they would be in my shop. After a month of use I decided I needed four more. They rarely make it to my clamp rack. They are all over my shop, near the table, miter, band, and radial arm saws. Don't miss out on the chance to add these clamps to your shop an unbelievable price.

The first shipment was missing packing material and 2 of the clamps were damaged, but Rockler replaced them quickly and now the clamps do exactly what they were designed to do... hold wood with out damaging it! Thank you Rockler!

For this price I most say that I was surprised at the quality of these clamps. I only bought two of them, but will send for more. Of course they aren't the best on the market, but they are good enough for home doers like me that do woodworking as a hobby.

Nice clamps. The hardwood is great. The screw hardware is not as nice as the old Jorgensen clamps hardware, but a drop of oil on each screw point when new and these work just fine. Excellent for the price! Allowed me to buy four of them instead of one.

Quality about matches the price. The screws are a bit too coarse and when tightening tend to fall back and not bite. That reduces the amount of clamping pressure of course, and so I have to be careful what I use these for.

I bought these just because they were cheap, but they have come in very useful several times already. I've found they have more holding power than quick grips, but the large wooden jaws let you skip cawls on some things without worrying too much about putting big dents into the piece (compared to C-clamps). The throat is also pretty deep and wide making them suitable for a wide array of tasks. They're a wonderful value, and I definitely will pick up a few more of these in my next order.

I ordered three of these 12" clamps. On arrival, not one would screw up or down full length of threaded rod. I had to inspect and attempt to file burrs off and cleanup the threaded rods. I use regular bar soap to lube most of my threaded rod tools. This did not help with these clamps. I have wooden handscrew clamps from another well know manufacturer. For this particular product I will not buy any additional clamps.

I bought two of these because they were on sale, but even at the sale pricethey are no bargain. Threaded rods are too small, wood jaws are badly sanded and sloppily finished, and the fit of the barrel nuts in the wooden jaws is far too loose. They look pathetic next to the Brinks and Cotton clamps they were based upon. They will go straight to Goodwill.

I now own 4 12", 8 10" and 8 8" versions of these "AWESOME" clamps. They are a great product in any size range even at full price but in the over 50% off category they are a steal. As a matter of fact, once my order of 8 10" clamps was received last year I took them down to our local police substation to have them checked out. I had to be sure they weren't "HOT", all clear by the way. My Priest, on the other hand wasn't quite as forgiving. I told him in confessional and ended up with 4 "Our Father's" and 4 "Hail Mary's" but before handing out my penance he had me write down Rockler's contact information including the coupon code. I'm assuming so that he could forewarn other Parishioners of this temptation before they too fell prey to it's trappings and thereby threatening his entire flock.
Shipping is always extremely fast with Rockler and their customer service is excellant. During my first order with Rockler I had entered my shipping address incorrectly, completely my fault. I didn't notice until the following day and the order had already shipped but Rockler was somehow able to fix this faux pas before it was too late and all of the while making my mistake and problem their own.
Thank you.

The only deficiency in these China made clamps was the crude dimensioning and finish of the elongated holes where the threaded operating screws passed through the wooden jaws. From a practical standpoint this is a cosmetic defect and has no effect on the clamps use.
