Very good tool. I used it to tune my tablesaw's blade angle. The pointer was never correct. I found that my saw blade was an 89.5 degree angle from the tabletop. The anjustment was easy. This tool works great for me.

Very easy to use. Have used it to check 45 deg. angle settings on my mitre box, bevel cut settings on my table saw and as a field protractor to measure the angle on a non-square intersection. Great tool.

I just completed a small project that involved some complex mitered cuts and the digital readout was very helpful. It certainly would have been a lot more frustrating and less accurate project without this tool. It was a great help for measuring before cutting, for for checking tool setup and for aligning parts when thy were ready to assemple. It's easy to zero and it's accurate to 1/10th of a degree. the two arms move easily and they're tight enough that the protractor holds its position.
The battery is a fairly common one that you can probably buy in a large drugstore. But one small caution about the battery: I've had other Wixey digital devices that continue to draw a trickle of power even when they're turned off, and that's resulted in a dead battery. You can avoid that if you pull the battery holder out just a bit when you're done for the day so that the battery disconnects from the contacts inside the housing.

I would strongly recommend the digital protractor to anyone who has set problems also to check the accuracy of their table saw or miter saw. Also any jig that may also be checked for accuracy, installing moulding etc.

This has been a fantastic tool, the fact that I can get my saw or other tool exactly at the angle I need. This tool goes beyond others I have bought. I can easily and accurately get the angle I need for such things as compund cuts on trim. I wish I would have had it many years ago.

This is a great tool. I have used it to verify all my squares and cabinet saw and miter saw. I am really glad I got it.

I haven't used the protractor much yet, but I'm impressed with the resolution. I checked the accuracy with my engineer square and it shows 90° dead on.

I expect to find a lot of use for this in the wood shop and the metal shop.

I use this thing about 43 times a day when making small rails for tapered lag tables.

This thing is just fabulous. It shows NINETY DEGREES. It also shows eighty-nine point 6 degrees, point 7 degrees, point 8 and point nine degrees.

I shall use this thing for any exposed joint on furniture.

I just wish it came with a battery condition indicator. After daily use for two months it's still running, and I just don't know when the batttery will go out.

Buy this thing.

I bought this item because I started making flag boxes and was having an awful time with the 22 1/2 degree angles that I needed to make the boxes fit the flag perfectly. This was a wonderful tool to use on this project. I will also be using it when I start back on
the picture frames.

The quality, accuracy and repeatability of this instrument are excellent. The ability to zero the reading at any position adds great flexibility. It would be nice if it could be locked tightly in position to more securely hold the reading while moving to a new position.

Editor's note: As per Wixey, this feature it is designed to achieve maximum tightening at about halfway. (forcing it any further does not increase the "tightness"). The design is intentional to allow for any fatigue due to long term use. The design intent is for holding measurements rather than for locking of the blade. Intent for use is to only hold angle reading for the blade so one can set or repeat the angle to transfer.

Did a small project with my brother-in-law using this the other day and we both found this thing to be awesome. Particularly during layout, checking cuts needed and cuts performed. I have the 8" model which is great for the items listed but a little large for setting up the bandsaw and some other smaller tools. I may pick up the 3" model for that. The magnetic edges help hold it to the saw table while making adjustments. Wished it would lock the angle but overall love it!

I bought this protractor becasuse it will read out fractions of an angle. It is a perfect match for drawing programs (like Corel Draw) that draw (and measure) extremely accurate angles. It is accurate, easy to use, and an excellent value for the money. The only thing about this protractor that doesn't work well is the lock on the swivel. It is hard to use and allows some slippage even when fully engaged. One addition that would have been great on this tool is a bubble level as a reference point.

Excellent tool. The powerful magnets grab onto the blade and the protractor tilts with the blade. Very simple operation and accurate.

I purchased this protractor to help me make boxes and bowls that have compound angles. Cutting 5,6 or 8 sided boxes in 1/8 or 1/4 material is difficult for me. This product helped tremendously. I am quite pleased with it.

This digital protractor is exactly what I needed as a companion to the Wixey digital angle gauge. As an amateur remodeler and woodworking hobbyist I am often confronted with projects where angles are far from true. These two tools allow me to make pieces that fit exactly.

The Digital protractor is extremely accurate and easy to use. When I was deciding which size to buy I figured the larger would be better for all applications. When I received it I quickly realized that the larger one was great for layouts but I would have preferred the 3" model for saw blade setting. I will either make an 1/8" parallel to shim past the teeth on my blades for use with the 8" model or purchase the 3" model for setting up the blades of my saws.

I was excited to purchase this digital protractor, and it exceeded my expectations. I use it for setting/double checking my table saw and miter saw, and it gets used almots daily in my shop. I even used it to measure the cut angles when I built my gambrel roof barn this past summer. If you need accurate angles, this is the tool.

Superb product. Simplifies the set up and periodic maintenance of table saws, miter saws and other similar. Now that I've used it for a month I probably couldn't live without it.

This magnetic base protractor has been a great help in obtaining the precise angle on my table saw and miter saw. I have found it very useful in aligning my tools in tenths of a degree to an accuracy I have not been able to achieve in the past. As a retired engineer and an avid woodworker I design and build custom furniture and precision is essential (no gaps).

This is an okay protractor. It does give an accurate digital reading, but the locking mechanism leaves someting to be desired. It is near imposible to lock in an angle without moving it.

The product description states "features a convenient tightening mechanism for holding measurements." Well, the feature is a very small lever, and it's difficult to move to its strongest position, and even it that, the holding power is very little.

Editor's note: As per Wixey, this feature it is designed to achieve maximum tightening at about halfway. (forcing it any further does not increase the "tightness"). The design is intentional to allow for any fatigue due to long term use. The design intent is for holding measurements rather than for locking of the blade. I really like this product to check angles on tools, walls, wood, etc. While I have plenty of nice squares, the ability to check that it is truly 90 degrees quickly or any specific angle is really nice. This product has only really two features - the digital display with the on/off switch and reset to zero buttons and the angle lock. The Digital Display feature is fantastic. However, I really had to lower the rating on this tool until they fix the angle lock on it. If you ever plan on using the angle lock, I would highly suggest you look elsewhere to see if you can find a comparable product at a similiar price. I know the Bosch one is significantly more and the Bosch was out of my price range for this type of tool at this point, but I am completely disappointed in the angle lock. Unless you have steel fingernails, I was unable to move the lock all the way to the lock position, but rather about 3/4 of the way and it was still easy to move. I used a screwdriver to move the switch to the complete lock position, but suprisingly it was still able to move without to much force. If you do not need the locking feature and/or can remember the angle to transfer the measurement later, then I highly recommend getting this product; otherwise, try the angle lock in the store first to see if it fits your need.

Great product. I used it immediately to calibrate my table and miter saw to pinpoint accuracy. I never thought I could get this far. I am currently using it on installing corner trims to get accurate angles prior to cutting. No brainer tool.

This tool is a life saver for 'angle challenged' folks like me. I would have given it a 5 if the lock worked. I can't believe they made such a nice tool and then skrimped on something like the lock.

I love this tool. As some of the reviews have indicated, the lock mechanism is less than perfect but the utility of the tool overcomes this insignificant shortcoming. All my metal and woodworking friends like it a lot. I'll buy another for as gift for a friend once it goes on sale.

This product works great for the inspectors checking a weld angle. Much more conventional and quicker to use than basic protractor for inspection. Only issue we have is that it is hard to lock in place, but not a high priority for us.

Editor's note: As per Wixey, this feature it is designed to achieve maximum tightening at about halfway. (forcing it any further does not increase the "tightness"). The angle lock is just about useless but I did not buy it for that. It works great for setting blade angles and drilling angles. The digital display is easy to read. Being a little old school I still spot check from time to time with my squares and as of yet it's dead on! I have a feeling that habit will stop soon.

This is an over-due instrument. I purchased it to check angles on my table saw. But I use it for matching shapes on wall moldings, etc. The only complaint is that the angle lock is very difficult to engage. Thus, one needs to use care when transferring a measurement from one place to another.

Nice tool, checked against my machinist square repeats 90 degrees every time. However, Wixey tool designers should go back to the drawing board and address the blade locking mechanism. It is not very useful and hard to get to. Blade does not lock well.

Before reading the other comments I thought that I was going to have to send the tool back. Apparently it is working properly. The first thing I noticed was that it was heavier than I thought it would be. Then I tried the lock with the same result as the other reviewers. The way the lock works pretty much renders it impossible to transfer and angle unless you use the tool in conjunction with a level; and that's still not going to be accurate enough for precise work.
