Leave shop floors spotless with this innovative 3-piece system. One end of the included Dust Right® Handle attaches directly to standard 4" hose (sold separately), while the other fits tightly over the 36" Extension Wand, which connects to the Floor Nozzle. You’ll need only one metal hose clamp to fix the hose to the handle—everything else goes together tool free! Small risers elevate the Floor Nozzle just enough to provide maximum dust collection. And with a 36" reach, you can get into the tightest spots in the shop. All three components are made with durable ABS plastic that is built to last. For convenient storage, add a few 4" spring clamps (sold separately) and hang the entire system on the wall. Patent pending.

Bought "Ridgid" 14 gal. Pro Vac connected to the Dust Right Vortex. Works great on my table saw and other tools in garage.

Added the floor sweep to my dust collection system and quick connect to my lathe. Both work extremely well. Will be adding quick connects to the rest of my equipment in the near future.

I have a small shop without room for a dust collection system and a shop vac. After trying it one time on my hands and knees with just the hose, the wand jumped from desirable to essential. I'm glad I bought it. It does a good, smooth job of cleaning up and I don't have to buy work pants as often...

Best part of this tool is that it "floats" over my shop floor. My old shop vac would constantly "stick" to the floor if I used it at the wrong angle. This system works as promised. Wish I had bought it years ago!

Very nice to be able tp use this floor sweep. Cuts down on shop clean up time by 1/2 that my shop vac took. Ergonomic and easy to use.
Very good tool. Very impressed with it.

It's nice to be able to use the dust collection system for a floor vacuum. Besides its weight and somewhat cumbersome movement, it really works very well, good job!

I was impressed with the performance of this product. I have added the quick release to my planer and plan to add it to my table saw. I have an Oneida air collection system and this really helped with clean up.

Being able to use the handle portion to connect to dust ports would make this system great and not just ordinary. I have a small workshop and need to roll planers, joiners from their storage position to use. This hose handle would be a great aid as a floor cleaner and a portable vacuum connection to a standard dust port. It makes not sense to have the handle a non-standard size. The person who designed this tool was not very experienced with a woodworkers shop needs.

Editor's note: We have to consider tool ports on woodworking machines. As much as we'd like them to be, the fact is they are NOT standard in size. There are slight variations in size from manufacturer to manufacturer and tool to tool. Note that our Dust Right Tool Ports are not an all plastic mold. They are designed specifically with a rubber boot as an integral part of them, which gives the flex needed to fit the variations of port sizing manufacturers produce. To secure that flexible rubber boot to the molded plastic part of the fitting a minimum depth of lip is needed for a proper grip of rubber to plastic. By offering the Dust Right Tool Ports our designers have come up with a way to bring the non-uniform sizing of machine ports to a uniform size so that one can easily use the Dust Right Handle to switch from machine to machine.

I first bought the bench cleaning attachment to go with my Dust Right System which works excellent by the way, but found myself bending over with it to clean my shop floor. Now with my floor sweep attachment it's smooth sailing. I have a small shop and the width of the floor sweep is perfect for cleaning around tool bases as well as the floor.

I would highly recommend this unit. I was very impressed with it's proformance. I can tell a lot of effort was put into the design. It is ergonomic and fun to use. I like the way it is long enough for me since I am six foot and usually things are shorter. the tube can always be cut shorter if necessary. The hose takes a little getting used to but that is minor. Easy to handle and store.

I waited a long time before I provided this opinion becuase I wanted to provide meaningful input from an extended usage period. Over 3 years ago I bought this sweep system and added a length of the Dust Right hose. In the first few weeks I used it, the handle broke off the Dust Right Handle. The handle is hollow! It is not strong enough to handle the extra stress from the Dust Right  hose. Since the hose compresses to 3 feet or so, the spiral wire inside is very strong so you are constantly placing stress on the handle. In the forward direction it is not a problem, or if you are using the Dust Right Handle to connect the hose to a machine's dust port it should have been fine. And it has been, but in use with the wand, any sideways dust collection motion will twist the handle. I replaced the first handle (I don't remember if Rockler sent me a new one or I bought another) Not shortly after I got the second handle, it cracked at the welding seam. I was able to use it gingerly for the next couple of years by being careful about how much pressure I placed sideways on the handle when in use with the wand. I now write this because it finally broke completely off again. I can no longer vacuum with it, so the wand is useless, but I can still attach it to machines by grabbing the hole adaptor and pushing it onto the dust collection port of any machine. So  the handle is cheap and needs to be a solid one piece casting, not this welded-on piece of hollow plastic. Or maybe I should just get a third handle but abandon use of the Dust Right hose.

I love the whole system. It makes clean-up almost fun. Why someone didn't make this a long time ago I don't understand. I'm able to clean up dust in places I was never able to reach.
I would highly recommend getting some of the more flexible hose. I have the more ridgid hose and it's a little tiring on the arm and wrist after longer periods of dust busting.

I like having the DC power for a vacuum and the bench brush attachment works well, too. This system is a little cumbersome to handle and the grate inside has to be cleaned off frequently if you have stuff other than dust being picked up. The system is an advantage for me because I keep my smaller shop vac hooked up to the miter saw most of the time. It is also a good way to help with the clogging in the end of the vac such as leaves which can be easily removed without taking everything apart. The grate works well in protecting the impeller.

Works great. Only problem I had is with the grate that is supposed to stop oversized particles from entering the dust collector. With the grate the thing continually clogged up. I have one of those dust collection separtors so I just removed the grate and thing works super.

The Dust Right Floor Sweep system works very well. The Dust Right Handle fits tightly over the tube and will not fall off. Depending upon the length of hose, it can be a little bit awkward to use in larger areas, but overall works very good.

This attachment fits too loosely to the handle assembly. It comes off. Otherwise it is so handy. I always tried sweeping the floor with the end of the hose. Not so convenient as this system.

At this juncture I have to give it a fair, only because mine will not stay connnected. The wand is constantly slipping out of the handle, which is nice, by the way. Now it could be that I didn't ram the tube into the handle hard enough. I will try that tonight and see if I can sweep without having it fall out.

It's good product that I've used constantly since purchase. I only rated it a 3 because the long tube does not fit tight in the piece with the handle and has a tendancy to fall out. I do recommend the product especially if it's on sale as mine was.

The only flaw in this system was the fact you can not use the handle (at the hose end) to connect to 4" dust connections on machinery. You also can't connect the floor piece to the handle. It does do floors very well but, workbenches are a pain because the 36" spacer piece has to be used.

In conclusion if you connect the handle to your hose you have to either remove the handle or have a separate attachment (hose) to plug into machinery. If these modifications were addressed my review would be a 5 instead of a 2.

Also if Rockler had addressed this in it's ad I probably would have bought the dust right master. I didn't buy it because I already had the extra parts that are included so I figured I would save the extra expense for duplication of parts.

Very heavy. Awkward to use. Exhausting to use very long. It does do a nice job without the whine of a shop vac. The grate plugs easily if you vac something other than wood dust.

The way I read the product description, I should have been able to attach the handle directly to the 4" dust ports of my table saw, jointer, and thickness planer. I was more excited about that prospect than the floor sweeping feature (although that part works great). However, the handle opening is about 1/8" bigger than the o.d. of the machines' dustports, so it didn't work out of the box. I built up the 3 dust ports with electrical tape for a snug fit and now everything is hunky-dory.

By offering the Dust Right Tool Ports we are supplying a way to bring the non-uniform sizing of machine ports to a uniform size so that one can easily use the Dust Right Handle to switch from machine to machine.

A nice system. Though a bit heavier than I expected with the 4" hose. Also, the connection between the 3' tube and the floor sweep nozzle itself is too loose. Tends to fall off. The bench sweep nozzle works quite well and has no connection problems.

I like this 4-in vacuum set-up better than trying to move the shop-vac around. My shop-vac is always under-foot and the filter has to be cleaned all the time. Yes, the grate gets clogged but I found a huge knot and tear out chip while removing debris. Without the grate, these would have caused some kind of damage to my system. It is the right height for comfort. I would strongly advise flexible clear hose as opposed to grey Delta hose, which tends to be stiff this time of year. A very effective cleaning tool.

It works just like it should. It's nice to be able to really clean up the floor for a change. You get into places that a broom just doesn't work. The down side is that the 4" hose gets heavy to drag around and yes to have to stop and clean out the protective grate built into the floor nozzle every now and then during your clean up routine. I wonder if you could downsize the 4" hose to a 2 1/2" hose making it easier to use? There may be some technical reason why you wouldn't want to.

The floor sweep is a huge improvement over cleaning dust and shavings with a shop vac. The dust is pulled from over 6" away, way better than the shop vac where the nozzle needs to touch the dust before it will grab it.
I cut out most of the inner grate to prevent clogs. I have a cyclone, so I am not worried about clogging the filters. If I had a small DC like the one pictured in the ad, I would want to keep the grate in place.

I was excited when this first came out and ordered immediately. It is a great concept. However I do have a couple of issues. First being the parts don't fit well. The sweep attachment is difficult to fit in the handle and the 36" tube occasionally falls out, too loose. The second is it is awkward to use with one hand. It needs a second handle on the tube extension.

Editor's note: Sweep end is only meant to fit into 36" extension and is not designed to fit handle directly without the 36" tube. The handle fits over the extension, not into it. If handle is reversed and installed backwards this may be the cause of the slipping.

I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet, but I'm sure it will work just fine. I just finished changing my vacuum system from 2-1/4" to 4" and needed something to fit the my new size system to clean saw dust from my shop floor.

I am glad that I purchased this to use at home. I can stand up when I finish sweeping and cleaning up in the basement work shop.
However, the pieces do not fit together well. The first time it was tried out, the handle section just fell out of the 3 foot tube. I ended up using PVC plumbing cement to hold it together more permanently.
A good idea, an almost good product and it could have been better!

Editor's note: We suspect you may have reversed the end on the handle piece as the extension is to slip into the handle rather than the handle slipping into the extension (handle fits over the extension, not into it). If assembled backwards this may be the cause of the slipping.

First, I would like to say this is a very great system. I bought it mainly to connect to my Dewalt Planer, which is about 15’ from my Delta 1.5 hp Dust Collector. I bought the 4” X 21’ hose and the floor sweep system.

Secondly, in actual use the hose does not stretch 21’ only 18’ but if you include the floor sweep system it is 21’. This works great even though it is heavy but by far better than hauling out the shop vac to clean the floor.

Third Tips and tricks: Rather than getting the Dust Right Tool Port I used a 4” schedule 20 PVC drain pipe cut 1 ½” long and cut out a ½” section perpendicular to the length. Slip this over your existing collector outlets at the machine and insert the dust right handle section over this. You will need to use both hands to get it on but it works. This works well with standard 4” L’s and Y’s etc. If you use this on all of your equipment, you can glue a piece of this on at each station. I tried this on the Dewalt Planer and a standard plastics “L’s.” If you buy a 10’ length of PVC it cost less than $14.00 for the tool port, and you can use what ever is left for you dust collection system.

Next, I had a piece of 6” PVC pipe and I cut it 4’ long. I cut a 4 ½” slot down its length and attached it to my Delta 1.5 hp dust collector in the horizontal direction. This is what I use to store the hose. The slot allows me to easily pull out the hose and retract it when not in use. “Necessity is the father of invention.”

The floor sweep is a nice size for cleaning around equipment. The grate to keep big pieces from sucking up and clogging up the lines is a good idea, however curls from the lathe tend to clog the grate. Overall a good product.

This is a good tool. But to be excellent it would have to be equipped with a better handle. I think I will fit a handle to the tube, so it can be used with two hands. That will also keep the tube from falling out of the handle.

I have been using the Dust Right Floor System for some time now. It works great for it's intended use. Unfortunately, the handle broke not long after I got it. I used duct tape to piece it back together and it's doing it's job. I don't know if the handle I received was faulty or just not up to the constant use I give it every day. Either way, I still use it because I haven't seen anything else that would accomplish what I need it to do.

I would say the product works fair. One thing I am certainly not pleased about it the size of the floor sweep. It seems like it needs to be flatter and wider to try and increase the velocity and suction power of the tool. I do not like the grate being in there because of the clogging on chips. I use a separator bin so DC damage is not a concern. A few minutes with a Dremel tool and my grate will be gone. I suppose I will try to frankenstein my own sweep head that will provide more suction by using less internal volume. I would be curious to know why the R&D didn't come up with something with a little stronger suction. I am using a 2hp Grizz and I would think that would be adequate. To be clear I have tested this system connected direct to the DC thinking I was losing seal in the separator bin. If I am very precise I can pick up the sawdust but it's like trying to use the home vac to pick up something and going over it multiple times. You end up just bending over and picking it up with your fingers.

The Dust Right System really is a good concept. However mine was a very poor fit. By just holding it in a verticle position it came apart. As much as I hate to I'll have to cement floor nozzle to the 36" extention because this really is what I need.

It makes a great addition to your already existing dust collection system if you have the matching connectors. I like the fact that it doesn't stick to the floor with the vacuum. It is somehow heavy together with the 4" tube but still glides with ease.
One thing I had to do make it work though was to break out the built-in filter grate to prevent it from getting clogged when picking up the shavings. If you are only picking up dust, it works fine but if you have shavings from planning, it is practically useless. Without the grate, you just have to watch out what you are picking up.
Also, it has a little brush to sweep the dust which is attached to the inside edge. It broke during the first use. It doesn't affect how it works though. I use it often to clean up the floor. I'd rate it fare to good but would be hard press to say very good.

This system works well, comfortable enough to use. I have added ports to my 4" tools, for my 2.5" tools I use a short piece of hose with an adapter - the smaller hose if much easier to connect to these.
The only down side is you can't get the extension pipe or floor attachment by themselves - you have to buy one of these kits to get them. So, if you end up with one of these parts wearing out, or breaking in my case not faulty, there was "an incident" you will need to buy a whole new kit. I foresee myself with several Dust Right handles laying around one day because I had to buy entire kits to replace one part.

Last week I bought a dust collector. I just used it with the Dust Right 4 inch master system for the first time. I am very disappointed. I don't think it works any better than my shop vac did with a clean filter. Can someone tell me what the advantage is of the larger diameter? I am not blaming the components I bought from Rockler, I just don't understand why a 4 inch system is supposed to be better. I know the CFM air flow is way higher with a dust collector, but the larger hose seems to make less affective. I wish I had just spent $70 dollars and got the dust right vortex separator for my shop vac. I now have a huge dust collector, "30 gallon 2nd stage" and no better suction. I have spent so many hours searching the web for info and can't find anything related to my question. I can't be the only one.

I had already purchased the long vac hose and handle, thinking I could use a standard 4 inch ABS pipe to clean my shop floor. I was very disappointed when I found it didn't fit, and that I had to spend again for an extension wand and a second handle. Now I'm happy I did, because the Rockler wand is so much lighter than an ABS pipe- much easier to use.
