Safety Tips:
It's easy to prevent mishaps if you take a few simple precautions.
1) Rockler recommends using 1/2'' shank router bits whenever possible.
1/2'' shanks provide better stability with less vibration to produce a smoother
cut and longer cutter life.
2) Make multiple light passes rather than one heavy cut.
3) Install your router bit so that 90% of the shank is inside the
collet. Here's a rule of thumb: fully insert the bit, then pull it back
1/16 to 1/8 of an inch.
4) Use a router table whenever possible.
5) When using large diameter bits, reduce the RPM of your router.
Then test your set-up on scrap lumber.
6) Always follow your router manufacturer's recommendations. |

I've been using Rockler's 1" roundover bits for the last 6 years in one step of the shaping process for guitar necks. These bits are consistently high quality and affordable.

I am repairing the belfry and steeple of a church built in 1881. I have had to repair and replace several parts that were not standard mill pieces. This Rockler bit allowed me to manufacture a structural yet ornate trim to match the existing trim, and maintain the historical integrity of the structure. It has been a tedious yet rewarding project, helped in part by Rockler's inventory of excellent tools.

When adding a 1/16" accent round there's not much room...or time...for chatter. Nothing left to do but light sand & finish. Great bit, Rockler!

Because I make fully functional bows for hunters and target shooters, and I don't laminate or back the bows to reinforce them to guard against failures, Each step of the process demands close attention to detail. Through the series of fixtures I use to shape the bows, each of my 6 routers and their bits need to work perfectly every time and this Rockler Bit functions perfectly. It's heavy, very well made, sharp, and I am very pleased with my purchase. It is a truly great router bit with enough carbide for many sharpenings to come. Thank you Rockler for a great product!

Had to add a 1" radius to a 7/16" board for a precast shape mold I was making. Worked flawlessly. Excellent bit! Very smooth finish...did not have to sand out any chatter marks.

This is one of two end tables built for my customer. The legs are walnut and the rest of the table is cherry. The table top edges were treated using the Rockler 1/16" roundover bit. The finish is Watco Cherry Danish Oil with five coats of wipe on poly.

We are restoring a Victorian home and rather than strip paint from moulding, we prefer to replace with new of an identical pattern. Purchasing from a specialist moulding supplier is expensive, but a pair of Rockler router bits did a perfect job on clear pine stock so they've paid for themselves already, not counting my time.
