These new 1/4" thick aluminum plates all measure 8-1/4" x 11-3/4" - the exact size of our redesigned HPL router table's plate opening. Each one has a different mounting-hole configuration so that virtually every router on the market will fit one of the four pre-drilled options. The most popular routers on the market have been divided into Groups, with a plate being assigned to each Group. If your router isn't listed in any Group, either of our two un-drilled plates can be easily customized to mount your tool. All plates include an insert with a 1-1/2'' bit opening. Optional inserts sold separately.

Optional Router Plate Leveling and Locking Hardware Pack sold separately. Includes (8) Plate Leveling screws to level the plate and (2) 1/4'' - 20 Threaded Inserts to accept the Lock Down Bolts (included with the plates).

PLEASE NOTE: Because different table top materials (HPL, phenolic or cast iron) require different leveling screws, the leveling screws are included with the table tops. For customers making custom table tops we recommend 22994 Router Plate Leveling and Locking Hardware Pack.

Rated the insert plate 4 out of 5 because I had to enlarge the hole that allows me to be able to adjust the bit height from above the table. I've got a 2 1/2 HP Craftsman, so I went with the group B. Plate is solid, flat and sturdy. For $30 on sale and free shipping, this was a great buy.

This plate is exactly the piece I need for my router table. The plate is flat and stable with my Bosch 1617 installed. I did have to drill a hole in the plate for adjusting my router lift but I knew this when I purchased the plate.

Sturdy and works perfectly with the Rockler router table. My Triton trc001 fits perfectly in the drilled holes. Only reason not to give it a 5 star is that you have to drill your own hole into the plate for the raising crank. But that's pretty easy to do if you have a drill press.

I built a router table to go between the rails of my table saw using the plans from a Wood Craft Magazine.

I chose the Rockler base plate for my project and am very happy with the result. It is a quality product, very strong. I used the blank plate D group. I look forward to many years of use.

No issues what so ever. Would recommend to anyone. Only problem I had was it didn't build its own table and secure itself down.

Recently, I built a router table using Norm Abrahm's plans. I chose the Rockler plate for the table. I use it with my Porter Cable router. I bought the plate, the template, the insert assortment, and the hardware pkg. The template was great when time came to cut the opening for the plate.
I liked the plate enough to order a second one to mount my other routers. The second plate was the blank plate that I drilled out for other routers that I have.
The money spent on these plates and accessories was money well spent. I would recommend these router plates to everyone.

The plate is all it was advertised to be. Made the router table modified the router mounted and working in about 30 minutes. My custom router table was set up for the smaller plate, needed to get all of my routers on the same size Plate.
Great product, would reccoment without hesitation.

I am building a large router table for my garage workshop. My table top is 2 ft X 2 1/2 ft. I wanted a good quality plate for my craftsman router. This plate definitely fits my needs and wants. It is hefty and strong will not warp or deflect after time of a heavy router hanging on it. This seems to be a good product that will out last the router and possible the table. If you are building your own table and not using a lift, consider this plate it will be money well spent.

My garage is rather small, so I was trying to find a way to use the extension table on my table saw as a router table too. Using the matching template and the leveling hardware, installation took maybe 45 minutes and the result was a nice, tight fit that is perfectly level with the table surface. Bit changes and depth adjustments are a bit cumbersome mostly due to the fault of my table, but the design of the plate means you either reach under table to do those or you spend 10 minutes unmounting, changing the bit, and remounting. I would definitely use choose this plate again even with the minor annoyances.

Plate was great. Made my own router table. Used their template. Fits perfect and works great. Big decision on the plate, cutting into Formica little scarey but came out perfect. Thanks to Rockler's template.

Purchased this for my Bosch 1617. Drilling the hole for the height adjusting base was a non issue. The only problem I had was the two mounting holes are not enough. There should be four, one in each corner. Once I had the plate leveled with the table surface, one or two of the height adjusting screws at the corners without the mounting screws were just not quite tight enough against the plate. It would vibrate at a very loud, high pitch when the router was turned on. I drilled two more holes in the other corners and used a blue marker to color in the fresh countersinks. Now it does not vibrate at all and leveling the plate was much, much easier. Buying it on sale was a great deal compared to the competition.

I order the group "C" Plate for my Triton 3HP router. It does not offer the above table adjustment that is offered by the smaller router, but adjustments are easy enough that this is not an issue and this plate works like a charm. I build my own table, so I purchase the matching template to route out the opening and all of the leveling and mounting hardware. It went together perfectly and I have a very useful table and setup thanks to Rockler.

I ordered this plate to replace a phenolic plate that had started to sag. It fit my Freud router exactly. Installation into my shop-built table was fairly straightforward. I used a custom template and pattern bit to cut the opening. This is a good product.

This is a good solid plate (make that a great plate!).Installation was a breeze. I'm not sure I understand all the complaints about having to drill a through hole in the plate. I don't know why anyone would expect there to be a hole in the plate to match every manufacturers above the table adjustment. The plates would look like Swiss cheese. The plates are made from aluminum, sturdy but very easy to drill. If you are a skilled enough woodworker to use a router table you should easily be able to drill a single hole in an aluminum plate. My Milwaukee 5625 feels right at home hanging under this plate, and I managed to drill a hole for the height adjustment in less than 30 seconds.

The Group A fits my Dewalt 616 perfectly. I also bought the template, and I'm glad I did. It made routing the top easy and a nice fit. I think my hardware kit was missing the threaded inserts for the set screws, though. I have the screws, but nothing to screw them into. Nice plate, though. I'm happy with it.

The design of the router table plate is not the greatest. Only two screws hold the plate down while 8 are used to level it. This makes for a very tedious leveling process. Don't overtighten the hold down screws or the aluminum plate will flex and make leveling impossible.

I also had to order a replacement plate because the first was not drilled properly. 2 of the 6 holes that mount the plastic insert were out of position by almost 0.03". The plastic part was perfect however.

I used this for my home made router table, and it is very sturdy. It fit my Bosch 1617 very well, but as far as I can tell it does not have a hole in the right spot to allow use of Bosch's above the table height adjustment wrench. Not the end of the world, but still inconvenient. It's too bad there couldn't be some kind of standard between the manufacturers.

Bought this for the Porter Cable 7539. Quality is great. Had to make the hole in the table pretty big for my router to fit and it didn't leave much of a lip for the plate. May not be the greatest plate fot the 7539 or maybe I did something wrong (probably not ;)

I purchased the group "B" plate for my 2hp new Craftsman router. The pre-drilled holes would only line up with 2 of the 3 holes on the router base. The folks at the local Rockler store were very helpful and extended the 3rd hole on the plate for me so that it would mount properly. Just an FYI though in case you have a newer model Craftsman router, you may need to adapt the plate to fit your router.

I ordered the blank plate due to Rockler being out of the plate that fit my router. Would have been nice if the hole was centered in the plate. I recommend that you get the plate you need instead of getting the blank and drilling it yourself.

The black 3 1/4" plastic interchangeable insert plate is not at all flush and does not sit anywhere near flush with the blue 8-1/4" x 11 -3/4" aluminum plate. This is a fairly expensive product so I am surprised by this discrepency of 1mm or so. Its difficult to tell whether the problem is with the insert plate or the router table plate opening where the insert plate sits. But either way its hard to see how I can use this without marring and scratching the pieces of wood that I pass across the router table plate. I am sure most people get decent precision machined products but I am saddened by the fit of mine, since it means I will have to either go through the totally bothersome process of ordering returning it, or ordering another plate if I don't want to scuff up my wood pieces.

Editor's note: Inserts cannot be made with a positive manufacturing tolerance without causing a problem, however it is common in this type of design application for the inserts to be manufactured with a negative tolerance to the plate recess. This allows one to fine tune an exact fit of an insert to a plate. The common shop technique would be to simply use tape on the underside lip of the insert as shimming material.

I purchased two blank inserts online because they were out in the local store. You cannot use the DownUnder DustCollector with these inserts. Drilling the hole is a challenge as well. A hole saw at 100 rpm still melts the plastic requiring a lot of cleanup. In the future I'll fabricate my own inserts.

Really a well made plate except the designer apparently never measured the head of a common cap screw and therefore the countersinks are about a 32nd too shallow requiring the heads of the screws to be ground off so they would not sit proud of the plate. Other than that, a nice plate.

I purchased the Rockler router plate Group A for use with my Bosch 1617 EVSPK (fixed base and plunge base combo). I mounted it in a table I built based on Norm Abram’s design. I also purchased the Router plate template and the Router Plate Leveling and Locking Hardware Pack.
In general, I am very pleased with the product. The plate is flat, very stiff, and the mounting holes are properly drilled for my router. The plate does not have a pre-drilled hole for the above the table height adjustment built into the Bosch router, but it is not hard to locate and drill one extra hole.
The plate template is very useful, although it is not dead on. I found it to be about 1/16 inch oversized in both directions, but the plate is intended to be secured by two mounting screws, which will keep it from moving. I also found that inserting a strip of edge banding veneer on each side of the plate will compensate for the slightly over sized hole cut with the template.
If you plan to use this router plate for the Bosch router, be aware that the holes in the plate are drilled so that the router handles align along the short axis of the plate, so the handles must be removed in order to drop the plate in the table from the top. However, this alignment makes it very easy to access the locking mechanism on the router, and the under the table height adjustment on the router.
I have seen some complaints that the router plate does not come with installation instructions. This is true, but if you buy the router template, it comes with good instructions for using the template and installing the router plate. I think Rockler should consider supplying these instructions with the plate as well as the template.

It's rather annoying that the 'new larger size' is not compatible with the router table tops provided by Rockler a few years ago. I now have to convert my 3 year old table to handle the new larger size.

The plate worked great in my custom router table. I have the Bosch 1617evs and the pre-drilled mounting screws lined up perfectly in the fixed router base. There wasn't a pre-drilled hole for the height adjustment screw, but 2 minutes on the drill press solved that. The aluminum has held up great and was much better than the Kreg plastic insert I had tried previously.

I specifically ordered this model"D" because it said in the ad that it was predrilled for a number of routers, including my Freud FT2000E. Well it didn't fit. I had to spend about two hours finessing it to fit. I checked a munber of times, and I did order the correct part number. Otherwise, it seems to be as advertised.

I love the router plate.
I also got the inserts and installation hardware pack. It took 2 trys to get the hardware pack and then a trip to the Rockler store to see how to install it.
But I now have a great custom router table with a strong insert.
Just the way I envisioned it.

The top surface of the aluminum base plate was slightly concave although once it was attached to the base of my Triton router, the bow was substantially eliminated. The molded plastic insert that fits into the aluminum plate is manufactured to very poor tolerances. The outer perimeter of this insert was approximately 1/64" higher than the center. I spent a substantial amount of time flat filing the insert to try to make it flat, and then using tape to try to shim it flush with the aluminum plate. Accurate work will not be possible until I make or buy a more precise insert. This is a surprising discrepancy given the price of this product, and do not find the follow-up explanation offered by the editor to be a satisfactory solution. A different manufacturing process needs to be used that allows for better dimensional control.

I only give this a good rating because the plate for group B routers only has a hole of 3 1/4". Beware, if you are planning to make raised panel cabinet doors that the hole is not large enough for the bits. This plate is useless to me as I bought it to make a router table that I could make doors with.

Purchased this as the combination package that included the fence and the table. Everything fit together wonderfully and was simple to assemble. Unfortunately, when trying to attach the Bosch 1617EVSTB router base to the group "A" table plate I ran into the only snag. The router base mounting holes lined up perfectly but the access hole for the lift mechanism is not pre-drilled. I tried every possible mounting position and was unable to get access from above. Oh well, I gotta go, need to make my way to the drill press for some simple modification.

Originally bought this plate about a year ago to mount my Dewalt DW621 into a custom table Cat B. Plate is nice and sturdy but the DW621 is only secured using two screws which was disappointing. Still, flex was minimal and it served its purpose. Fast forward to this week where I needed to do some bushing work. Well, it turns out the router isn't centered and off by about 1/16". I happen to have a Craftsman standard router as well so I mount that up and it is off also so I at least know it is the plate. Now I'm left with the decision to try and modify the plate or chuck it and get something else.

Good plate, came with everything needed. I also got the template to rout the open. Does what it should! The only thing I would complain about and would give the product 4 or 5 stars if it wasn't for this is that the screws that come with the plate used to mount the router to the underside do not sit flush or below the top of the plate....they sit up proud of the plate. This makes for an uneven surface and also causes scratches on wood as it slides over.

I purchsed the router table top, fence with the aluminum insert plate and 2 plastic inserts a year ago. I'm pleased with everything except the plastic inserts. They are both approx. .016 to .02in thicker than the depth of the recess in the alum. plate which means they stick up above the top of the plate. After buying a 3rd insert, which was the same thickness, I decided to make some out of wood. They work great!

This plate is good and strong but I have one problem. I got the plate from Group "A" as I have a Bosch 1618EVS, the mount holes line up great but none of the other holes will line up for the above table height ajustment. If I knew that their was no hole for the height ajustment then I could have ordered the blank plate and drilled my own. The good thing with this plate is that I only have to drill one hole.
