Enjoy simple installation and precise door alignment with these low-profile, one-piece concealed cup hinges by Salice. Three eccentric cams allow you to quickly and easily adjust the doors in every meaningful direction (side-to-side, up-and-down, and in-and-out) for perfect alignment. Twin-screw attachment to the cabinet frame provides superior stability, while zero door protrusion and a low hinge profile allow pull-out shelves to extend without interference. Made of solid steel, Excen-Three hinges feature a beautiful, corrosion-resistant nickel finish for a lifetime of trouble-free operation. Here's something to consider when selecting face frame hinges...
These hinges are not for use on Eurostyle Cabinets, they are for use on your face frame cabinets only.

Overlay
Applications
Use an overlay hinge if the door overlays the face frame completely, with a rabbet. It can be predetermined or variable. If it is variable, you'll be able to mount it anywhere on the widthe of the face frame and determine how much of the frame will be visible.
Inset Applications
Use an inset hinge if the door is completely flush with the face frame. |
|
Self-closing hinges are an ideal for cabinets. The built-in spring pulls the door closed and holds it in a closed position, eliminating the need for catches.
Soft-closing hinges have an adjustable action that, when your door is pushed closed, automatically takes over and brings your door to a whisper-soft close.
Free-swing hinges are most often used in furniture applications, rather than cabinet applications. |
|
| Use
the chart to determine how many hinges you'll need for the height and weight
of your door.
A door
that is 43'' high and weighs 14 lbs. requires three hinges. If your door
is only 24'' high but weighs 14 lbs., go with three hinges for maximum
support and stability.
Use
on 5/8'' - 3/4'' doors unless otherwise noted. |

I had to replace existing hinges with zero clearance hinges on a cabinet in order to install roll-out shelves. These hinges were the perfect replacement for the project, and the standard screw pattern fit the existing holes on the cabinet.

This was the first time I have used hidden hinges. I would have liked a wider ranage on the adjustments like I have on my kitched cabinets but for the price these worked well. I will use them again.

Used these hinges on the first cabinet doors I have ever made. Even with a little mis alignment they can be adjusted into place. They have a nice open and shut feel.

Having installed eight of these units I think they're very comparable in quality to the gold standard Blum units. I chose these over the Blum units because these have two screws mounting the hinge to the faceframe versus Blum's single screw.

I used both the Salice hinge and the entry level Blum hinge. For a garage woodworker, the extra adjustments in the Salice hinge made it easier to correct. The Salice hinge indexes to the front of the face frame (which is nice)the blum indexed to the front and rear (problem because my face frames are evidently thicker than some standard). I am talking about the ears on the hinge.
Although there were no serious problems with the Blum, I intend to keep paying a little extra for the Salice due to its ease of use.

Customer Rating:
Somewhat disappointed by these hinges: while two mounting screws on the frame promised greater rigidity than the old-faithful Blum, I find the hinges rather flimsy. Once installed, a closed door can be pushed in by a good 1/16” by relatively low force. Equally, and open door can be easily 'rocked' around. Two hinges have diffcult time with solid oak 24" wide door...In future, I will switch back to Blum.

I think the hinges are well made and easy to install. I would however caution you not to use them with drawer slides that only use a 1/2" gap between the drawer side and face frame. I used them for this type of application and found you can not pull the drawer out once the hinge is screwed in place.

I build cabinet's as a hobby (mostly kitchen cabinets) and I have used many type of hinges. I recently had to make a cabinet for my daughter's home that was to extend from the existing island. I decided to try the Salice hinges, and it was very easy to install and it works very good. I would say it is as good as the Blum hinges that I have often used.

I'm building cabinets for our kitchen and I compared this hinge and the Blum counter-part. They are both excellent hinges and the Salice hinge has 3 adjustment axis as opposed to 2 with the Blum hinge. I found the 3rd. axis to be unnecessary unless the hinge was installed incorrectly or that the face frame wasn't true or square. I do give the Blum hinge a slight edge in that the self close mechanism is a bit more positive.

Am replacing all 122 hinges our builder installed less than 8 years ago because the closure springs were breaking. Was happy to find these - they fit in the existing hinge holes (only had to drill new holes for mounting screws on the frame) and really like that they mount with 2 screws, not 1. Also like the 3-way adjustment on these hinges. I seriously doubt I'll ever need to replace these.

Dissapointed in the large gap left between the door and stile even after adjustment. Typical cushion pad will not be enough to make door parallel to cabinet. Would probably not use again.

The hinges appear to work just fine, however, I take exception with the instructions. This was my first time constructing a corner cabinet w/lazy susan, and although I consulted many books, I didn't come across one that showed the proper door layout.
If the instructions would have shown a plan view of how the doors look when assembled with the hinges along with comments about clearance allowances, it would have been very helpful. As it turned out, after assembly, I had to make another door panel because one of my doors was 1" too wide and I had already drilled all of the cup holes for the hinges. Thankfully my doors are only slab doors, so it didnt' take too long to make a replacement. Other than that, I would buy these hinges again, but I feel that better instructions may have saved my having to re-do a part of my work.

My son and I do carpenter work along with creative woodworking we are building a bar for a business. We usually use Blum hinges, tried these instead and am satisfied to the point I will use them again. We used the same Rockler hinge boring jig that we use for the Blum, it worked fine for these.
