Once you've used these, you'll never go back to the hardware store screws. I even recently bought some screws from another woodworking supplier and they are terrible compared to these.
I figure a stripped head or snapped screw cost me an hour's time. For the very small, if any, premium for these screws, buying anything else is false economy.
I also use square drive whenever I can. Positive driving and little cam if any cam out.

Having lived in Canada for twelve years before returning to the USA, I have become a square drive enthusiast. In Canada, square head screws are common and Philips are rare. I did some research and found that around the time the Philips was developed, in 1909 a man named P.L. Robertson patented the square drive. The patent ran out in 1964 so the screws are called square drive now instead of Roberston which they are still known by in Canada. Philips was an American and Roberston a Canadian, so their designs caught on in their respective countries. I avidly dislike the Philips screw. It is lousy for many reasons. The square drive is stronger, easier to hold on the bit and seldom does the bit slip off the screw. The Square X is the best of the best because the bit torques the screw toward the middle of the face of each of the 4 sides of the bit. The bits do not round out as badly with the Square X. I have used these screws for 15 years and have tried other high end screws from other mail order woodworking supplies. The Square X is the best. They are also very strong. I don't remember ever breaking one, even in oak or maple.

Great driving screw. After using the 1-1/2" on a project I ordered 100 of each of the other sizes. No more snapped off heads even in hard boards.

I used these screws to build a toybox for my granddaughter, and I don't want any failures.
This toybox will last her a lifetime.

I got tired of buying screws from the local suppliers and have the heads snap off under the torque of a drill/driver. So I started purchasing these screws from Rockler about 4 years ago, problem solved! Once I got the storage bins,it was easy to keep a good supply on hand. I highly suggest the purchase of these bins, lets you see the number of screws you have left after a project.

Square drive screws is just about all I use, all sizes. They stay on the driver, they don't fall off, and they are for one handed uses. An excellent choice in screws for all types of projects.

Perfect. Experienced woodworkers already know this but these screws are leagues ahead of that at [home centers].

Love the square drive. The screw will stay on the driver so you can get it into awkward places.

I like the square drive and they don't break off even in oak, but the real reason I order them is that I can't buy inch and half screws around here just inch and quarter to inch and five eights and I have never had any trouble with your screws so that is why I order them from you.

Combined with a Insty Drill-Driver Set and a Impact Driver, these screws stand up and drive better than any others that I have tried. Out of about 1000 used, I have broken two of them, my fault. I buy all sizes and in multiple orders.

Don't confuse these with plain old drywall screws. These accommodate either square or phillips drive, and they go in and seat smoothly and cleanly.

I obviously haven't found better screws (or a better deal on them) anywhere or I wouldn't buy so many of them! Rockler's Square-X Lubed screws in my experience are easier to drive and much less likely to split thin grained wood than any other.

My DH is building storage units for our garage. He liked the 6 bags, in 3 sizes, that I ordered for him, that I am about to order 9 more bags, in 3 sizes again.

The square X-Drive Heads screws were used to build an outdoor double glider for use around salt-water. They are very durable, resist corrosion and the heads won't strip out.

The outstanding drive characteristics of these screws makes them almost impossible to strip and are much easier to drive. I highly recommend them.

I've been using these Square-X screws for years and what I really like about them is that if I used them for a client that doesn't have a square driver they can use a regular Phillips bit instead. Good selection of sizes and keeping them on hand at all times makes it much easier than going to the local "big box" store to buy some cheap, import screw.

I used these for butt hinges. The ones that came with the hinges (phillips "brassette) were stripping (heads) like crazy, no matter what bit I used. I never stripped one of these square-drive screws, even after in and out a half a dozen times!

I no longer use nails unless I have to. The X head screws are the best I have used. Matters if I have a sq. head or phillips head bit in my driver. Works great with both, but I really like the sq. head best.

I use these screws for my bird houses and feeders. They work great and hold up outside great. I would reccommend them to anyone who needs a small profile screw with a big bite.
