I got this depth gauge to set my table saw blade and fence parallel to my miter gauge slot. I couldn't be more satisfied. It worked great!

It was exactly what I expected and has performed very well. It only took moments to figure out how use it. I have already recommended it to several friends.

It has separate posts that screw into the main post. I'm sure I not clear! In any event, the extra posts can be screwed into the main post extending the depth you are able to measure. This makes the tool not overly long yet able to measure deep into a hole. By main post, I mean the one you see in the photo on this web page.

I bought this to set my table saw and routers. I've not used it much but it does what I expected it to do. It is very accurate, that is what I needed. I give it a thumbs up.

The gauge is very accurate. I compared it to a precision depth gauge and was very surprised at the level of accuracy. The best part is the conversion to fractional readings without going through the longhand math exercises.

Purchased the product online under the impression the tool body was mainly of a cast aluminum. I was surprised to see it is chiefly plastic. No comment on durability because it hasn't been used enough. The design concept is good, I checked it's accuracy against known exact dimensions and found it within 0.0003" in 5 accuracy trials. I would expect it to maintain this level of tolerance with repeated use. As a fussy woodworker, I appreciate having machine shop accuracy, my career was in mechanical engineering. It's scope of use is likely wide, as an immediate example this tool would be a great asset in measuring lateral end plays in shafts, or fine tuning blade height on jointers, and setting a parallel relationships of tablesaw blades and miter slots.

For the price one can't go wrong. Sure it's plastic, but it works well and is accurate too. I do handle it with caution though.

Great addition to my work shop. Quick and easy way to measure board thickness. Easy to adapt to measure blade and router bit height I bought it on sale, what a great buy.

I like the inches/mm/fractions options, and may have to replace some of my other digital calipers to get that lovely third feature, and I don't really mind the plastic parts... the gauge seems to work very nicely. but I'm a bit dismayed by the inclusion of the two "extensions" to the measuring rod. if you add either of the additional ones, "zero" sure as heck isn't when you push the gauge flat to a reference surface, because you can only do that with the original stick in place. with extensions, the sensor won't go down to flush with the "zero base." Maybe some additional directions on how to measure a hole deeper than the original probe would be useful, if it's at all possible... or help me... what did i miss here?

I haven't had this depth gauge very long, but it seems to work flawlessly. In spite of the plastic parts, it seems to work smoothly, and be plenty sturdy for it's designed uses. I don't have the equipment to test the calibration, but it seems to be very accurate, best I can tell. I'm sure it will last a long time if I don't throw it into the bottom of a toolbox and toss other tools on top of it.

The gauge is designed to reset itself so that a fraction of an inch shows on the display instead of 0. Awkward at best.

I've not had any occasion to use it as yet, but I've played with it enough to know that it does a very remarkably accurate job of defining the depth and displaying that information in usable form, whether we're talking metric, inches in fractions or inches in hundredths. Service was great and price was even better.

A great gadget. I'm really happy I made the purchase. The only reason I did not give it an excelletn rating is because the buttons used to turn on and take advantage of the options are a little small.

This is a great for the price and the quality of the tool. Real handy to use and is very user friendly. Much better than using a tape or ruller to get a depth and more accurate. I would recommend this for any shop big or small.

very dissappointed because it is mostly plastic. Makes you wonder what's on the inside. Hope I don't drop it. The picture looks better than it is. The only plus was it was cheap.

I like the new Snap Depth Gauge. I used it the first day I had it to verify the height of my router bit when changing over my stiles and rail cutting heads.
It is small and light weight, I can hang it up on my pegboard to easily find it. And when I am using my CNC router I can quickly check the depths of the bit passes to be certian thay they are cutting correctly.

The device is very accurate, but it would be nice if the lock button locked the shaft in place rather than just the number.

It is good. It could be better. There are two issues beyond the quality of materials that I can think of. First, the probe is too fat for some precision work. Second, use of the hold button can disturb the readings. So it should hold automatically for 2 seconds or something.

Like others, I bought the gauge because of the sale price and it looked useful. I was surprised to see the magnetic base connector on the back, making it much more useful than I expected. I am pleasantly surprised and very pleased.

I have several boxes full of high end machinist tools so I understand the wisdom of good tools. If you were going to use this everyday in an oily machinist environment it probably wouldn't hold up. However, for occasional use in a woodshop, it's a homerun. I'm extemely happy with it. It simply works well, has good repeatability, is easy to use, and is a great value.

Solidly made...some metal parts, some plastic parts. Excellent reproducibility of measurement on rezeroing and remeasuring. Reads out in mm, inches, and fractional inch. A really nice addition to my shop for quick measure of board thickness when planing or setting up material for CNC machining.

A very useful tool that I've used on many occasions. The digital readouts are much more accurate than the mechanical depth tools I've used in the past. It may be light weight, but it's solid and definitely worth the reasonable price.

Good gauge for the price. The true test is going to be how long it last. It is made of plastic & does not seem to be constructed vary well. But like I said for the price it is a nice addition to my shop.

Works slick UNLESS an extension is needed. The gauge cannot be zeroed with an added extension.
To use with an extension, first zero the gauge without the extension! remove the end cap! add the extension! replace the end cap! take the measurement! add the length of the extension! hope the zero set was not disturbed in the process. Cumbersome at best.
Unless I need the accuracy of the gauge, I'll stick with a dowel/rule for holes deeper than 1 3/16".

Worked right out of the box. Set it aside for a month and when I went to use it, I figured I had a bad battery. Changed the battery out and no go.

It's a good product. I use fractional readings most of the time, but I can when a reading in mm would be needed.
