Hi, I had a perfect situation that these hinges solved, a simple cabinet that provided a top for a video projector and below ...storage pull out trays (Rockler # 27390) for DVD's, the hinges allowed fine access to storage.

Once again, Rockler comes through with a product that nobody else carries. Works great - and the online catalog provided me with enough information to know that what I was getting was the correct product.

Very satisfied with these hinges. While installing them, two slotted screw holes in each hinge allows for about 1/8" adjustment which comes in very handy.
I would buy them again!

Would have given the highest rating except the screws are destroying the quality of the product. I tried different drill sizes, oiled them before starting them, etc. and the head still strips out out. You can just about forget dry fitting and removing the doors for finishing. Suggest using a steel screw or perhaps a larger screw holes and screws. The hinge itself is great. Easy to install and works fine.

Rockler was the only place that I found these 270 degree hinges that I am using to build a sewing cabinet for my wife. Thanks Rockler.

First, let me start by saying I thought I would save time and money and pick these up at Home Depot. Needless to say you get what you pay for, the hinges where to be for a hood that I made for an out door grill and needed the hinge to work as describe 270 degrees, I had to replace the hinges with the ones I bought at Rockler and they work perfectly, when the hood is fully openned ir sits flush against the back. Rockler has never disappointed me with their hardware.

The hinges worked perfectly on the cabinet we built. They fit well and the doors fold out of the way. I would recommend this company to everyone. The service was very good and the products arrived when they were promised.

While it took me a few minutes to figure out exactly how the hinges went on, once I did they worked perfectly. For the people who had problems with the screws, I just switched to a #1 phillips bit and didn't have any problems. The screws have to be small so that they don't protrude and interfere with the function of the hinge.
I'm so glad that I got these, they've really improved the usefulness of the cabinet I installed them on!

I found the hinges to be very sturdy. I did have an issue with the very tight tolerances. Because the moving part of the hinge is the same depth as the stationary part, I found that it would bind on the face frame when it closed.I had to add thin cardboard shims between the face frame and hinge to correct this issue. Otherwise I thought they were very good hinges.

The 270 degree overlay hinge works very well
on a cabinet in Wood Magazine that I opted to put
doors on that will fold back out of the way
for TV viewing. I did find screws were soft and
I broke some even pre-drilling in oak plywood. Heads
stripped easily. I think the hinge itself is excellent
quality.

Used on my existing TV cabinet, where I ordered 1 pair to try out, then lazily didn't order the 2nd pair 'til a year later. The first pair has held up under constant use, though I did replace the enclosed screws with ones of my own because the heads of the included screws stripped very easily.
Delivery was Rockler's usual timely service, of which they should be proud.

These are great hinges for getting the doors to open fully out of the way, but the head on the attaching screws are just too small and needed to be replaced with larger ones. If this item included a larer screw, it would rank a "5"!

The hinges are excellent but I agree with the other reviewers about not using the screws. They do strip out very easily even when the holes are predrilled.

Although the hinge is well-made -- much better that the one is replaced -- I had trouble with the bend in the inner, smaller leaf contacting the piece when it was closing. It rubbed the frame enough to bind and leave marks, causing me much grief. I can only think it was manufactured slightly out of spec.

The hinges worked well for my application. The only fault I found was the small screws. The phillips head screw driver has to be so small it is very hard to use. I found by wrapping several layers of duct tape around the handle helped.

I ordered these for door on an entertainment center and had it build and found out that they do not work on 2 inch face frame. So had to make another one with only 3/4 inch face frame so the doors would fold all the way back against the sides. Put a better grade screw with them so the heads to not strip out so easily.

This is not a no-mortise hinge. I had a small door located near the corner of the bathroom. After going to some trouble to make the door the right size I found after mounting that it was offset by a little over 1/8 inch. If I wanted a flush fit I needed to mortise the hinge. I trimmed to door since you could not see the offset hinge side next to the wall. Also, if you cannot open the door 180 deg. then you will not be able to put in all the screws because of the design. Again I compromised. The hinge pin was very tight so that I had to use pliers to loosen it. The manufacturer needs to retool this hinge to make it no-mortise. Disappointing.
Editor's note: This is a no-mortise hinge design. Reviewer is referring to the reveal on the front edge of the cabinet wall created by the door postioning this hinge gives.

Not happy with these hinges...
Very stiff and hard to open...also dont close all the way. Maybe I just got a bad bunch, but these problems added alot of time to my project. Next time I will spend the extra money on the Hefele Aximat hinges. The time spent mortising the doors will be less than the time spent adjusting (trying to adjust)these hinges. They also are not very attractive on the outside of the cabinet...If you are looking for cheap and annoying, these are the hinges...

I too had problems with the door closing completely against the frame without mortising the hinge, Product seems a bit out of spec in the close position. Other than that the finish and other aspects of this product are fine. These were the only 270 degree hinges that I found and since I like to build cabinets with drawers that pull out these work great. I got them to work but was a bit harder than I anticipated.

I used a pair of these on a jelly cabinet door. I flush mounted the hinges that is what no mortise means, but the door would not shut properly. I had to mortise around the hinge mounting areas so that the mating area would clear. See attached photo.
Other than that, the hinges work fine. I will use these again if needed and with appropriate planning.

I used these on a large TV cabinet, they bend quite easily and the pins will separate. I 've replaced a couple and I'm looking for better quality in this type of hinge. Finding quality tools and materials is the challenge for wood workers. Rockler does sell many good quality items, I usualy like what I buy.

Made in China numerous quality control errors. Inner hinges contacts the wood on all 6 hinges of first order. Customer service sent 6 more only 3 of them didnt contact the wood frame when closing. Screws are two small and strip easily. Made a jig for slight inset with a 1/16 extra space worked great for 4 hinges others were to big!!

These hinges are anything but non-mortise. In order to get the things to swing closed, I had to mortise the cabinet edge under the arm on the door and then cut shallow mortises on the back of the doors so that they would sit flat. In short, they should be avoided. They are not quality made, either.

The 270 overlay hinges are a great idea but installing them was a painful process in my case. The reason is that the stem exceeds the base. As a result the doors do not close completely. I had to prop up the hinge base by using washers. I also used a washer to lift the door from the three hole base into the barrel of the hinge and that enabled the door to normal function. I would recomend to lift the stem at least 1/16.

The fixed leaf's dimensions are wrong for a no-mortise hinge, making it impossible to use as shown in the catalog. The door leaf binds on the front edge of the cabinet because the two leaves are the same size. That's why people are saying that the door won't close all the way. The fixed leaf should be about a 1/16" longer holding the hinge pin further from the edge of the cabinet. Also the door cannot cover the front edge of the cabinet because the middle section of the fixed hinge is about 3/32" too short. The edge of the door and the side of the cabinet must be flush to look right. I'm assuming the standard 23/32" thickness of nominal 3/4" plywood. As work-arounds: You have to shim between the cabinet edge and the hinge to fix the first problem. To fix the second problem you either have to mortise the edge of the door or the inside surface of the cabinet. None of these fixes should be necessary. As a professional, who has to make time when building cabinets, these are not what I need.

I Have had to actually dent my project where the hinges contact the wood up to a shy 16th of an inch just so the hinge would come close to closing. Fantastic idea for the hinge. Horrible construction of the hinge. Maybe Taiwan doesn't understand how to make two pieces fit together the right way.

This is not a no-mortise hinge if you want to use with an overlay door on a 3/4" frame and not end up with a reveal on the outer edge. The part of the fixed leaf that lays across the frame is about 1/16" too short for that. Unfortunately I made the rookie mistake of not discovering this until after I had glued up a cabinet and glued in a fixed shelf - too late to cut a mortise in the cabinet. I also noticed the binding other reviewers have mentioned.
