Accuride’s 3832SC is the industry’s first self-closing, full-extension drawer slide.
|
Accuride’s 3832SC is the industry’s first self-closing, full-extension drawer slide. It features the same smooth movement and flexible mounting tabs found in the popular 3800 series. Requires 1/2" clearance on each side of drawer.
100 lb. load rating.
Self-closing mechanism keeps drawers from bouncing back and holds them securely
in place. Zinc. Price per pair of slides.
For easy installation, see our Accuride Face Brackets.
NOTE: We MAY NOT carry all sizes listed on the Accuride Product Information Sheet.

Customer Rating:
These self closing drawer glides work well. The closing mechanism is spring-loaded and seems a bit too strong. It makes the drawer somewhat stiff to open and the closing is not as smooth as I would like, but none-the-less they were easy to install and definitely satisfactory.

Easy to install. Way too stiff and hard to open. Either does not close or makes too much noise when closing. I would say I am very disappointed in the self closing or lack thereof feature. I don't have alot of arm and hand strength so it makes it hard to use these. Maybe there is some adjustment that I don't know about.

Easy to install but not a smooth easy glide as I had expected and the self-closing feature is not consistant. I hope it will work better after it has been used for a period of time.

These are OK. I normally prefer using the Blum undermount self closing slides, and had some on hand for a particular project I was working on (dining buffet). The customer made a request to change the depth of the buffet slightly, and the Blum slides would have been too long. I ended up going with this since they were the right length and still offered the self closing feature. They are tricky to get in just the right spot, and if they aren't in just the right spot they bind really bad when they open and close. I had 4 drawers to install these on and had trouble on each one. What would normally take about 10 minutes with a Blum took about 30 minutes with these. It's not the end of the world, but it is frustrating. Other reviews are right - these are very stiff. You really have to work the drawers back and forth to break them in, and it takes a few weeks of hard use. I found that a little Vasoline or WD-40 in the slide helps, but it's messy and is one more thing to deal with. I would say these will work in a pinch, but go with Blum if you can.

I have to agree they are easy to install but they are not a smooth easy glide and the self-closing feature is not consistant. I too hope it will work better after it has been used for a period of time. My wife is not satisfied so I'll probably be looking for quality replacements.

Compared to several "stock" cabinet brands, the Accuride slides (while they do work) are not what I expected. The Accuride slides that my custom cabinet maker installed are less than acceptable. They are very hard to open (an inconsistent at that) and when they close, it is not a smooth, glide, quiet close. I think I am going to have them replaced with a better brand before my model is finished! Not a happy camper. I do not recommend this brand.
Editor's note: One can check slides for operation before installing. If the slide operates smoothly before installing but not after, then it will be the installation rather than the slide that is the cause and adjustments to the installation are needed.

I am a professional woodworker and have used many accuride glides, this is the first I have used the "self closing". After much adjustment and fiddling I got the slides to open and close smoothly but I did have one break... the closing mechanism is made of low grade plastic. I would suggest going with the standard Accuride glides and if you want a true self closing glide go with Blum.

Easy to install, instructions were accurate. Hard opening and not smooth closing. Not a good value for the price paid. Will be looking for replacements in near future.

The self closing drawer glides works well but it is very stiff when you open and close the drawer. It snaps shut a little on the loud side. I like the quality of the product but the box it was sent in was not adequate enough and one of the sliders was broken.
