The clear base with 2-1/2" opening is a perfect fit on my PC690. I like the added visibility this base allows and the ability to use large diameter bits.

Threw this on my Porter Cable to do sign routing. The standard black base doesn't allow you to see the outlines of the fonts, where the clear base allows a bigger view of the outlines. Combined with a fore head light to brighten the bit and it worked great. Counter sunk screw holes in the base makes a perfectly flush bottom.

Just what I wanted, like the clear see-thru base and quality material. It fits my PC 890 perfectly. I have an old Craftsman Dovetail Template that has/requires a custom guide .4 inch. I used drill press to drill holes in this base to mount the custom Craftsman guide. It lines up best if you put the dovetail bit in the router and then mark the base for screw holes.

Works like a charm. It's very helpful to see the bit while routing. Rocklers service, price and fast shipping are tops as always. We always check Rocklers first.

I ordered two of these with different size appeture holes and I'm totally happy with the items. They mounted perfectly on my model 690 and the screws recessed as they should. It even came with a set of screws. The Model 690 P/G router has bad visibilty, no light like other units, and with the factory plate, it was very hard to see what you were doing. With these clear plates it made the job of hand routering much more relaxed as you can see your work. Totally recoomend these to anyone that has the Model 690.

I recently purchased a Porter Cable 892 router. The base has a large diameter opening, so if you have one and want to use template bushings, you'll need one of these. The hole pattern is the same as the 690, so it is a perfect fit.

I needed a base for larger bits for my Porter Cable router. This base screwed on in the existing holes, and I finished my project.

It worked well enough, but it would have been nice if the mounting holes were countersunk so that the screws from my router could sit flat against the base. I modified it and it works now, but I'm trying the Porter Cable replacement to see if it's better.

I bought the 1-1/8 plate (88932) which is required for the bushings used in the Porter Cable dovetail jig. The plate fit well and works well. I agree with Mark Noll's review that the original plate has a very large opening. I plan on using this 1-1/8 plate for all but my largest bits.

I needed a new router base plate for a very old Black & Decker router. This one was easy to modify the mounting screws, and worked fine.
