The best built, largest opening and strongest slides! Operates smoothly, prevents sagging or binding and allows a wide range of leaf openings. Available in wood or steel. Set consists of two slides.

20'' slides for small rectangular tables. Gives maximum opening of 26 or 50''.

36'' slide for large rectangular tables. Gives maximum opening of 38 or 64''. General rule of thumb - he length of the closed slides should be at least 2/3rds the length of the closed table.

I've installed a few pairs of these slides for customers in both large and smaller tables to replace the original worn wood slides. I've also got one of the huge sets in my own large dining room table. They are really super easy to install. What I do is simply mark the outside of the original slide set to provide myself a good set of parallel lines which eliminates measureing. Then I find and mark the center of the slides and place that mark on the center of the table where it splits also lining up the slide against the long lines I drew. Finally, I install 5/8" screws in all the holes. 5/8ths will hold then just fine without protruding through the surface of even a 3/4" table. All in all it takes about 15 minutes to install. Voila!

Our table had literally crashed on the floor due to wear on the old sliders. Your pro line was very helpful in choosing this product. The job was so easy and we love the look of our table. It works better than ever! Thanks.

Worked great. I still have space to add a 20" homemade leaf in addition to the two I already had. Of course the homemade will be covered with a tablecloth. Easy to install.

Purchased 29678 steel extension slides to replace original wood slides. Replacement was easy and the new slides keep the table top flat, better than when the table was new. I would highly recommend these slides.

Due to the limited selection of sizes I had to choose one larger than needed which required modification of the table, but the sliders were easy to install and worked great.

I purchased the wooden extension slides to repair our dining room table, I don't know age of table as it was my great aunts. The old slides finally fell apart. Upon installing the slides I discovered I would need to make some modifications. After doing modifications the table was sliding as good as new.

We are thrilled. My wife wanted a bigger table, instead we decided to buy the sliders from you to make the table we have bigger. They went on so easy. Now is the hard part making the new leaves. Thanks for the prompt service.

We have a teak, formal dinning room set, which was custom made for us back in the 60's. The table was sagging on one side from extended use with both leafs (36") installed. We removed the old wood sliders and installed the model 25907 sliders and my wife is thrilled with its "new" appearance. The installation directions were also very good which made the conversion easy.

I purchased a set of extension slides: model # 25904 and made 3 extra leafs to increase the size of our kitchen table. The slides work very smoothly and was quite simple to install. It saved me from buying a larger table!

The orginal slides on our table were made of wood and never worked. The Rockler slides arrived promptly and were easily installed. The table now opens easily.

The original slides on my table splintered and stopped sliding. I found these slides to be of better quality, and I'm amazed at much easier my table extends now. This is a great product that allowed me to save my table.

I used the slides to make a solid oak table for my son-in-laws graduation. The table's closed measurement is 42"X60", when opened it measured 42"X92". The instruction that come with the slides was great and made it easier to install. The information available helped me determine what I needed.

Replaced the slides on a dining room table made in 1951, as the old ones were worn out and the table sagged in the middle. Very easy to install. Well pleased as the new slides had a different hole pattern from the old ones so there was no need to fill the old holes. Completed job looks and works great. Good quality slides.

It was very easy to install and works great. Why you do not included the screws that are required for complete the work?? Fortunately I had the old screws and they worked fine.

Editor's note: Screws are not included as you'll want to select length according to the material thickness you are working with.

I needed to increase the seating capacity of my dining room table to accommodate holiday guests. I simply removed the old slides and installed the new ones which now allows for insertion of four leaves instead of two. I found installation extremely simple and even fully extended, there is no bowing at all in the center of the table. The most difficult task was making the two additional leaves.

I have purchased the metal slide rails with the 50" max opening. I am not very impressed with these slides. I am making a 8' long table with 3 - 16" leaves. The table top is made of 1.25" solid cherry wood which makes for a fairly heavy surface. When the table is fully expanded with all three leaves installed the center has about a 1/2" sag in the middle. The design of the sliding rails allows too much slop and this permits too much sag. My only option is to make my own sliding rails that have tighter tolerances made of engineered wood (Baltic birch plywood). Or I could install a fifth leg centered in the middle when the table is fully open. Perhaps I am just asking too much of these sliding rails.
I suggest saving your money and building your own rails per Fine Woodworking #65.

Editor's Note: Yes Joe, you are expecting too much from the slides you bought. The length of the closed slides should be at least 2/3rds the length of the closed table. Therefore the 50" max opeing slides, which have a 20" closed length would be suitable for tables no more than 30" long. These length of slides are typically used on small or 'buffet' style tables. They are not suitable for use on large tables.

Easy enough to install but are clearly not strong enough for a fully extended table at max extension. I bought them for a 90 inch table. The extentions are really only stable enough for a table of about 60-65 inches. I will have to find something else for my project.

Thanks Rockler for your high quality products and great customer service! We bought a used table that used to be a dropleaf. It was now together to stay open, turned 45 degrees on it's base and spray painted black. It was a mess but it was cheap. A good friend of ours, David, stripped it to discover a solid cherry table. He then made removeable leafs out of the dropleafs and new legs and for his first time ever, he installed a set of your wood sliders. They work great and it it an awsome table. We love it,,, and your products too.

Recently I purchased a pair of the metal table slides. I want to make sure that this is about the metal table slides, not the wood slides. I did my research and read the reviews, but I was not expecting to receive this quality of table slides. They are basically made of galvanized sheet metal and spot welded together. Just the feel of the slides was enought to convince me that this was not a good application for a table slide. When I opened the slide up it had a very unpleasant sound of metal on metal rubbing and could not be called "smooth" operating, in any sense of the word. It felt so bad that I never installed them, I just returned them.

I used these on a new table I built. 1.25 thick by 40 wide by 70 long extend to 106. They were very strong and very easy to install. The directions weren't worth much but you don't really need them. As long as it's centered and square to each other and table just screw them in. I bought the metal slides.
