I purchased walnut, mahogany, maple and cherry for a tumbling block pattern Keepsake Box. All woods were excellent with the exception of the cherry, which had a number of planer marks on the face. I am overall satisfied with the woods I purchased.

I used this walnut for accent with maple to make 3 of these candle centerpieces as Christmas presents. I was very pleased with the pieces that were delivered. A plus was that the sizes delivered were a bit oversize. This allowed me to select the best part of the board for use, though any of it would have been acceptable. And it allowed me to make a couple of extra pieces in case I ruined one.

I ordered this stock for a crib for my upcoming attraction called, baby. The walnut looks great. All of the pieces that I ordered do not have any sap wood. Beautiful color. The only problem, minor, is some sniping and a couple of dinged edges. Nothing that can't be cut or worked around; otherwise very pleased.

I ordered 5 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 pieces 24 inches long to make table legs for an end table. (One extra in case of a mistake). The quality of the wood was excellent. I wish hardwoods weren't so expensive but I can't argue with the quality, it was top notch.

This little crystal radio was made with Rockler 1/2" walnut stock. The wood was fantastic and Rockler makes it possible to purchase it for small projects like this one. I also bought some cherry which will become a crystal radio soon. I believe this to the first dual tracking crystal set ever made.

I ordered 4 - 24 inch walnut boards - but was suprised to find that 1 of the 4 had an unacceptable gouge in it. All my previous wood orders from Rockler were received in outstanding condition. I will be able to use the board in my project despite the flaw. I could have requested 2 sided perfection in my order to ensure my projects success - but I did not need it for this project. I intend to continue using Rockler as my primary source for wood and tools, this is a company I believe in and trust - I know if I needed and asked for a replacement board they would provide it.

This is my first experience with online ordering of wood products, and Rockler did not disappoint! The walnut was milled to perfection, arrived in pristine condition, and was reasonably priced. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a perfect 5 was that there was a small, but undesirable amount of blond sapwood in my shipment. Otherwise it was great! I'll definitely be ordering again for my next project.

Just 5 minutes ago received my second order, since I shorted the first a bit, of this great Walnut. The orders are at least 2 weeks apart and the wood is almost the same. Great!! Except with this order about the last 10 inches of one of the boards looks more like curly walnut, than just plain. Has beautiful very very dark graining. Minimal sanding, on both sides, but the finished side is near finish quality already. Thanks again Rockler another great order.

I ordered 4 pieces of walnut for legs on a demi-lune table that I am building. When the wood arrived, two of the pieces were dark walnut and very nice. The other two were over 40% sapwood. This would look horrible and if I were going to take the time to stain it evenly I could have used a much cheaper wood. When I called I was told that there was only 1 piece in stock and there is no promise on color or grain.
Rockler has a great guarantee and took all of the wood back.

I ordered four 1/4 in thick pieces of walnut, (4 1/2 " by 18") that I requested be closely matched in color so I could glue together. I was disappointed in the color match one piece not close and another with many chips in it. At the price I expected better quality. I used them but project did not turn out as pretty as I would have liked. Will probable gamble again on wood orders in the future.

I bought this wood to make a couple of special wooden trucks and they look awesome. I combined the walnut with maple. The color of the walnut was great with very few imperfections. My only negative comment would be that all the pieces had planer marks requiring additional sanding. I have purchased wood from Rockler in the past and this was the first time I have had this problem. But I will purchase more in the future.
