1) Submitted by John Henson, from Joinerville, TX on 10/27/2009 Customer Rating: As with most thin wood (1/4") there was some bowing and cupping, but for my purpose (ornaments) the wood was fine. The color was great and the finish was excellent.

6) Submitted by William Leal, from Lincoln, CA on 12/29/2008 Customer Rating: I used the 1/4 inch purpleheart, walnut, cherry & padauk to make segmented bowels. I use as a contrasting wood, poplar or maple. I use a 24 segment jig. I glue three or four rings at once, then turn on the lathe. I find this easier to do instead of gluing the entire bowl together before starting to turn. I begin each bowl with a 1 1/2 base which I turn using a three jaw chuk. I usually complete each bowl by adding a LED light source. This makes teriffic night light with an interesting light pattern on the ceiling.
