Beautiful color! I had ordered a 3/4" X 4" X 36" and they were plenty generous with the size. It wasn't perfectly straight and it had a few knots throughout the board, but the section I will use of the board will be excellent! This will make a beautiful looking and sounding guitar neck down here in my shop! Thanks!

As with most thin wood (1/4") there was some bowing and cupping, but for my purpose (ornaments) the wood was fine. The color was great and the finish was excellent.

Used 1/8 purple heart and laminated it to aluminum. Wood was straight, great color, packaged well and shipped promptly.

The wood I was provided, in this case Purple Heart and Walnut, was at the highest possible quality. No splits, cracks, knots (except a few small dense workable ones, which I like) or discolored. I will definately buy from Rockler again. Thanks!

I used the 1/2" purpleheart on the lid of the box. The wood was of good quality and ready to work with, also the shipment was prompt.

I found the Purpleheart to be in excellent condition when received and good to work with. It is a very hard wood and is very attractive when finished.

I used the 1/4 inch purpleheart, walnut, cherry & padauk to make segmented bowels. I use as a contrasting wood, poplar or maple. I use a 24 segment jig. I glue three or four rings at once, then turn on the lathe. I find this easier to do instead of gluing the entire bowl together before starting to turn.
I begin each bowl with a 1 1/2 base which I turn using a three jaw chuk. I usually complete each bowl by adding a LED light source. This makes teriffic night light with an interesting light pattern on the ceiling.
