Beautiful color! I had ordered a 3/4" X 4" X 36" and they were plenty generous with the size. It wasn't perfectly straight and it had a few knots throughout the board, but the section I will use of the board will be excellent! This will make a beautiful looking and sounding guitar neck down here in my shop! Thanks!

As with most thin wood (1/4") there was some bowing and cupping, but for my purpose (ornaments) the wood was fine. The color was great and the finish was excellent.

The wood I was provided, in this case Purple Heart and Walnut, was at the highest possible quality. No splits, cracks, knots (except a few small dense workable ones, which I like) or discolored. I will definately buy from Rockler again. Thanks!

I used the 1/2" purpleheart on the lid of the box. The wood was of good quality and ready to work with, also the shipment was prompt.

I found the Purpleheart to be in excellent condition when received and good to work with. It is a very hard wood and is very attractive when finished.

I used the 1/4 inch purpleheart, walnut, cherry & padauk to make segmented bowels. I use as a contrasting wood, poplar or maple. I use a 24 segment jig. I glue three or four rings at once, then turn on the lathe. I find this easier to do instead of gluing the entire bowl together before starting to turn.
I begin each bowl with a 1 1/2 base which I turn using a three jaw chuk. I usually complete each bowl by adding a LED light source. This makes teriffic night light with an interesting light pattern on the ceiling.

Very nice to work with! I used it for shelves in a medicine cabinet. It is amazing how much strength 1/4" can give!

I used 1/8" African Padauk and Purple Heart for a table top inlay project and am very pleased with the color and quality of the wood.

I ordered the 1/4" thick purpleheart to laminate on the sides and bottom of a transitional woodworking plane that needed some help. :) The purpleheart was nicely dimensioned and very flat.
My board was not quite as purple as I wanted, so I just exposed it to direct sunlight for a couple of days, and it turned a nicer shade of purple. (Don't let this secret get around or everyone will be using the stuff...)
I will definitely be ordering more purpleheart from Rockler.

A beautiful piece of clear purpleheart. I used it to make the keys for a xylophone for my daughter's 3rd grade music project. I was able to tune each key to the precise note by cutting it to a specific length. It has a very fine grain and sands beautifully. All the kids loved the purple color. Quick delivery and well packaged. I will definitely buy again from Rockler.

I used the purpleheart to build my sword handles. It worked excellent. It's very hard, durable & the color is perfect for this project.

The purpleheart I received had more of an open grain then I expected, very hard to sand out, not very smooth to begin with. Didn't have even color with a couple of the peices being extremely dark. The pieces I received were certainly not top quality and of varying widths.
