These worked well, but putting a mortise in the endgrain of the bed rail was not easy. I ended up building a jig and using a 5/8 straight bit to make the mortise. I then used a 1/4" forstner bit in a drill to cut the reliefs for the hooks. The suggestion made in other reviews to recess the plates slightly is a good one.

First - A shout out to Rockler's CS. I ordered the wrong size. Called them up and had no problems with returns. I reordered the right size and was able to keep working on the bed. These pieces are SOLID and give me confidence that my joints M/T will probably fail before these do.

These are required hardware for the New Yankee plan for trundle beds. I am building two for my kids. These make a strong connection between the side rails and the foot/head boards.

These made for a knock down connection that was rock solid for the arts & crafts bed I made for my daughter. I mortised them in just slightly below the surface 1/64" on both the post and bed rails and this created an extra friction fit between the wood parts that made an exceptionally solid connection. This worked out well on the 1-1/2 x 9" rails that I made because of the extra wood around each of the rail brackets. I used #8 x 3" particel board screws with a type 17 point self drilling to mount the hardware for maximum holding power. I tried a #10 screw but the head was too large and interfered with the fit. I just ordered 2 more sets for future projects.

I used this product for a platform bed we built for a client and they worked beautifully! Easy installation, secure fit. Great product!

This product is great! Installed correctly it makes for a very solid connection of bedrail to headboard/footboard. In addition to the sleighbed frame pictured I have used them on a childs twin bedframe and am currently using them on a set of custom bunk beds. Great product!
