Everything all have said plus the nice thickness, the durable material and the the trueness of the angle. For me the thickness & size alone does it. Something you can realy grab and handle without the weight of steel!

These are excellent. They are sturdy enough for their intended purpose, and a set of 4 of these from my local Rockler store got me out of a bind while assembling a large cabinet that needed "help" getting and staying square. Occasionally these have gone on sale and I'd buy 4 more for sure.  For the problem they solved, still worth every penny.

Awesome product! I will have to admit a bit awkward first time insuring use of groove on assembly square.
If material being fitted is deeper than this thickness of square, you must place material below to insure groove is above pieces to fit. This is necessary to insure square only goes to end of each piece, and remains true 90 degrees. Quality of these pieces is excellent.

I was concerned about using a plastic square for assembly but ordered a pair. They are truly square and I now use them more than my home-made squaring pieces. They are very easy to use and speed up construction of projects. I recently ordered more of them. A really good product.

These would be a great product if they were actually square. I was assembling 4 pieces of 3/4" plywood to form an open box and couldn't figure out why the sides weren't lining up correctly. I used a precision square to check these out and was surprised to find they had issues. Because they are molded plastic the ends of each leg have a slight flair to them. What I mean is, the ends are slightly thicker. I used a big file and my 12" disc sander to true them. Be very careful if you use the sander method as the plastic will melt from the heat. Once they were trued, they were quite useful but they should have been made that way in the first place. A good idea, just not executed that well.

I purchased 4 5" and 4 8" and they are fantastic! Extremely accurate, easy to use and save a lot of time. No more trial and error. With the Assembly Squares your glue-up is dead on the first time.

This is a real timesaver and dead-on accurate. I have used this for squaring bookcases and drawers when gluing. Once I clamp these into the corners, my project is square - everytime. No more trying to figure out why my project is out of square. A simple little tool that saved hours on my projects.

I bought 4 of these along with 8 of the 5" clamps that go with them. While I haven't really used them for their intended purpose (I haven't made any boxes recently), they also work well as simple squares.

The 5" clamps however, are perhaps the most useful thing I have bought in a long time. I use them everywhere. Because they so light and small they are very easy to use. You might think the 5" size is too small but you would be surprised by how often you can use these clamps.

I was given 3 pair of these (sans clamps) and I find they are accurate and durable. I use my own clamps. I do recommend these to anyone who gets tired of fabbing their own square assembly "jigs". They're cheaper than I can make my own and a lot more durable also. As a plus, most glues don't want to stick to them.

Assembling drawers with my grandson helping was a mess resulting in 1 out of 6 drawers being out of line. The Assembly Square is working out great. One square worked well, so I ordered a second to square up opposite corners and it made assembly drawers easy. Thanks to the designer.

Thought I would give Clamp-It Assembly Squares a try so I purchased two to use in my shop. I have a very large project to build and clamped the Clamp-it squares to upright 2x4s to act as a third hand. They worked so well that I have just ordered six more. They held everything squair and secure while I worked. I wish I had a set of these a long time ago they would have saved me a lot of time. Could not live without them now.

I make a lot of wood models illustrating basic mechanical principles. They typically require glueing the back mounting base to the horizontal base. I used trial and error to adjust my bar clamps until they were close to 90 degrees. I bought 4 of the big clamps and tried them out. They worked great and reduced the time it takes me to get a 90 degree glue joint.

I like this product very much. The square is very rigid and does not bend under clamping pressure. It greatly simplifies squaring up materials during assembly. Buy the matching clamps, too. The clamps have a very shallow depth which makes them easy to use with this product. Very good product!

The 90* blocks are absolutely rigid and square. It certainly made claming up the frame a much easier prospect than trying to maneuver a framing square wrestling the 2x6's. This product is better than anticipated and well worth the price. A second pair will be going into my 'Wish List'!

Nice and stiff. Plenty of ribbing to keep them from flexing. I recommend purchasing the small bar clamps that fit nicely into the slots on the clamps if you don't have any. You could use most any clamp but these are compact and don't add a lot of weight.

I received a set of two squares as a gift. After using them for a few days, I went and purchased several more in both large and small sizes. They make clamping extremely easy. Alignment is a snap. As an added bonus, because they are made of durable plastic, glue clean up is a snap. I would certainly recommend a set of four or eight for anyone who needs a method to clamp square corners quickly and accurately.

These are like a second hand to me! I grab them whenever I'm building a box or shelf, and you know most of time that's all we're building anyway! I didn't get the clamps in the picture, due to other people's reviews, instead I got the Irwin quick grip minis and they work perfect with them, the mini grips are not strong enough for glue purpose, but are convenient and fit these well. I usually nail or screw with the glue so it's not a problem. These squares are solid, I dropped them a lot of times but they are unscathed. I bought two but may add more in the future. Highly recommended.

The assembly clamps are fine for most corner clamping. They are not a perfect 90 degrees, at least according to my shop engineering squares, however, it would be difficult to hold large pieces to a true 90 without tweaking here and there anyway.
I did (do) have a problem with the 5" Clamp-it clamps. I purchased several and right out of the box one of them would not hold a grip when tightened in the asembly. The slide section easily moves back and forth on the rail without gripping.

I am not a professional woodworker but a do-it yourselfer. I am just starting to make cabinets and purchased two of them. I liked them so much that they are on my Christmas wish list for more.

I am building a hope chest, after getting the ends and sides finished to glue & screw the pieces together I almost need two hands, and this is when I ordered your Clamp-it Assembly Square and Clamps. I am glad I did
because it ended up being my third hand. The tool worked so good to hold my work that it made the job so much easier. Now I will have at least two sets in my wood shop. This is A very good product and I will recommend it to all.

I just purchased 8 of these and I will tell you they are a very welcomed addition to my woodworking tool collection. I've never been happier while building my furniture as I am now. I would totally recommend them to everyone but sorry, I won't loan them out. Rockler gets another A+ from me.

I've had four of these for nearly a year and use them regularly.
Uses:
I find they help as follows:
Screwing together drawers - holding the alignment while driving pocket screws
Assembling cabinets (large free-standing book case for example), assures the sides/ends are square during glueing and assembly.
Assembling large picture frames - holding each corner square while glueing.
Assembling anything square - I screw one to my workbench top for a solid corner to drive them into. Makes a nice firm "corner" to work and push against (poor man's bench dog.)
Weaknesses - the 5" clamp-it bar clamps sold with it are very handy in size, but are not "Bessey" quality - they slip during tightening, and the rubber jaw covers come off (I finally superglued mine on.) I use larger bar clamps where the object size permits/requires.
Bottom Line - These are well worth the money in time saved and increased accuracy. They are well made and well designed.

I rate the Clamp-it as a 5 star. They are great for the instant square, just make sure you get enough to cover all of the top and bottom edges!!

However, I have had problems with the clamps. I am not sure if it is a design or QC issue. The friction stops on several of the 8 that I purchased do not catch properly to hold tension at certain place on the clamp. It looks like the grooves were not manufactured deep enough. Also, they can be a little frustrating to work with when you are trying to hold the clamp it and put the clamp on as the ratcheting action may work against you until snug. I prefer my small quick clamps.

I used these clamps for building 2'x 4' bulletin board frames. They worked great...but I used Quick-Grip clamps instead of the bar clamps (which would have required two hands) The clamps held the frame together while I power nailed the mitered corners. I have improvised many times, making something do just what the clamps now allow me to do so quickly and nicely. I highly recommend this product for any woodworker.

The clamps [sold separately] with the system are slow acting and cumbersome. Trying to use the squares provided with 3" spring clamps is possible but ackward due to the thickness of the square. To prove my point, examine the 2 photos supplied in the list of reviews. In neither are the supplied clamps being used.

I cannot share the enthusiasm for the product with other contributors. I found that, yes, once you have the pieces clamped in place it is like having a third hand at least and an assistant at best. However, I find it very difficult to allign the pieces and apply the clamps in the first place. Maybe because I have two left hands but so far I have found the product more frustrating than helpful.

I am using these to help assemble small boxes and chests. They are VERY handy for squaring things up and keep your hands free for making adjustments. I am extremely pleased with them!

I was quite disappointed in the Clamp-It Assembly Square. It is at least 1/32 out of square over the short 6" length. This expands to a much larger error over a 28" length of my cabinet. I will try to square up the Clamp-It but don't feel I should have needed to.

These work well. The slots in the sides are great for keeping clamps in place. You can you Irwin Quick Grips or the smaller clamps offered with the product. My next purchase will be the mini Clamp-It's for small projects.

5" Clamp-It Bar Clamp is a waste of money. The floating head of the clamp does not torque and grip the bar properly due to poor design of the friction & torque system.

The assmbly squares are excellent. The bar clamps leave something to be desired -- better workmanship. I have had two let go in the middle of clamping a project together. The bar just slides out of its holders. One was a "blue" clamp and the other was Black. Very disappointing.

I bought 4 of these clamps thinking that I could use them in my business. Turns out not a one of them is actually square. They are about 1/32" out of square in the length of the leg. They are worthless for use in a professional setting.

Great idea, but unless three of my squares are wrong, each wrong in the same way, then these aren't square. Which would seem to me to be important.
