Rockler 12 '' Stainless Steel Hook Rule

Our 12" stainless steel hook rule catches on the end of a board to give you precise measurements. Great for measuring off the end or edge of a board.

1" x 12" rule has permanent etchings in 1/64", 1/32", 1/16" and 1/8". Finished in a satin chrome to stand up to a lifetime of use in all applications.

1) Submitted by WoodPRo, from Boston, MA on 5/30/2009 Customer Rating: Just an average import rule. There are others on the market that you will treasure forever. The hook on this one is riveted in place and will not slide to one side when you need to make a flush measurement. Markings not engraved nicely. I returned mine.

2) Submitted by Hank, from Emory, VA on 1/2/2009 Customer Rating: It's okay, if you can get the hook adjusted. I'd prefer heavier markings on the 1/8 and 1/16 scales. (It's probably not possible to make them darker on the finer scales). I'm wondering if the hook will stay where I put it or if I'll have to check it against another rule before using it for any precision work. It seems expensive for what it is, but rules in general apparently are a lot more expensive than they used to be.

3) Submitted by Otto, from Tulsa, OK on 11/17/2008 Customer Rating: This is a good rule for the money with easy to see markings. The problem I had with it when I first got it is the hook was so tight I wasn't able to side it. I loosened the screw which was very tight and adjusted the black hook retainer slightly which corrected the problem, but after some use the screw came loose. I was able to snug it back down but the screw seems to only be catching by one fine thread and will likely fail in the future.

5) Submitted by Dan, from Boise, ID on 10/16/2008 Customer Rating: Very nice rule. My only objection is that all of the indexes do not start on the hook side. You end up with 1/8" and 1/64" from the hook, but not 1/16" or 1/32". Otherwise a high quality rule for the price.
