I have the complete set from Rockler and use the 1/4",3/8" and 1/2" primarily for doweling along with Rockler's doweling jigs. Match set .......... perfect every time.

The 10mm bit cut clean and didn't burn. Hole was a little oversized but was probably due to my setup, not the bit.

The 3/4" bit performed better than I expected, based on it's appearance. Drilled 30, 3/4" deep holes in oak and the last was as clean as the first. Took a break every few holes to keep the bit from overheating.
Cutting geometry different from my other smaller brad-points no cutting spurs but seems to work well in a drill press with wood well clamped.

The bits arrived very fast actually beat an order from another company that was ordered days before. The bits works very good for the barrel hinge.

For the cost, these drills work better than similar or lower cost units on the market. Pay attention to drill speed, feed rate & safely secure your material for good quality results. General rule of thumb: a drill bit will drill an ever so slight oversize hole in wood so expect this in your results and plan accordingly. Drills hold a descent cutting surface. Rated very good for the money and my application! Pen Blank Drilling.

Drills a perfect hole for my duck call blanks. Works so much better than the jobber bits I tried prior to the brad point. Works great for my application!

The bit created a sloppy hole (from a very powerful and accurate floor drill press. The bit also burned badly in every wood I tried (maple, walnut, padauk etc.)

Gave me a perfect hole to mount my barrel hinges.

All the brad point bits I bought produced holes at least 1/32” larger than the bit diameter. This is not precise enough for my application. A 5 mm end mill bit produced holes approximately 0.005” to 0.010” larger than the measured bit diameter in my drill press.

This bit drilled oversized holes. It is not straight and wobbles as you start to drill the hole.

I've had many different sets of bradpoint bits and use them every day in my work. These bits are good, but far from the best I have. These run hotter and do not do a great job of scoring without some minor chips and don't pull the wood from the hole quickly causeing some over heating.

I guess I could have ordered the entire set and brought the cost average down. Pricey for one bit.

Made in China..the size isn't even stamped on it to refer to when using. It does function though but I wouldn't guarantee that for a long time. I think you will be replacing or sharpening it soon. I wouldn't buy another one of this quality again.

I ordered the bit to drill holes for 14mm barrel hinges. The holes were slightly too big rendering it impossible to use the barrel hinges. Thank goodness I tested on scrap pieces first. Also, I would recommend including minumum stock sizes as the bit has a long center point which would not allow you to use the bit in lid stock less than 7/8" for the 14mm hinges.

In my case the holes were way too sloppy for accurate dowel work. In thicker wood, I could turn it upside down and the dowels would drop out!
