These bits are made of precision-ground high speed steel (HSS) that keeps a sharp edge longer, resists wear and possible overheating. Center brad point allows accurate positioning and prevents skating. Side cutting edges have relieved backs to reduce friction and produce smooth side walls.

25-Piece HSS Brad Point Bit Set Includes:

  • 25 bits ranging from 1/8" to 1/2" diameter size in 1/64" increments
  • 4 bonus small diameter split point bits: 1/16", 5/64", 3/32", 7/64"
  • Includes convenient storage box

I have now used a variety of these bits on several these bits several occasions and I'm very pleased with the results. I just bored a hole in a piece of 3/4" plywood using my DP . Feeling a bit lazy I didn't use a sacrificial board under my workpiece to prevent tearout at the bottom of the cut. To my pleasant surprise the bottom of the cut was as perfect as the top side. Thumbs up on this product especially at the sale price. Once again Rockler comes through! Also, delivery of my order was lightning speed.

Some of my scroll work is making oval/circular designs that require small holes drilled equidistant around circumference and these brad point drills make sure I hit the mark and they cut cleanly.

These bits cut fairly clean and so far have held up well. For the price, they can't be beat. If you're looking for some brad points, these will do a good job for you.

All of these bits rolled smoothly across my table saw. The ones I have used cut smooth. For the price, especially on sale, you can't beat these.

Have used mostly smaller sizes thus far and am very pleased with quality which has extended by experience to assume that all of the bits will be the same. The comparison to other sets makes these bits superior in all areas.

In the first set I purchased, the 5/32 bit was bent making it useless. I exchanged it for a new set and in this set, the 1/8 bit has a similar bend. Fortunately I can purchase an 1/8 bit as a replacement.

Very good quality bits, and a very nice case as well. When I received mine, it was missing the 1/2 inch bit, but, I sent an email to Rockler, and received the missing bit in a couple days via first class mail.

I had use for these drill bits right after I got them. They are worth every penny. I have a different set of bits nearly as good. Very straight and true. A quality product.

The bits come in a nice plastic case with clearly marked sizes, the bits also come with a thin coat of oil to keep from rusting. Should be plenty of different sizes to cover any hole you want to drill. I did notice these bits like a high speed drill and if you push slowly you will get a VERY nice clean hole but I did get a lot of chip out on exit side even with a backer board. going slow with very light pressure helped stop that a little. My tests were with a larger size bit. But overall this is a very nice set and for the price you can't go wrong!

I bought these a few months ago. I have only used / tried a few of the bits - maybe 5 or 6. Most of them did OK. These were my first “brad points.” I am sold on this kind of bit. It leaves a MUCH neater hole than the standard twist bits I’ve used for years. Contemplating making some furniture for new house and this looks to be very useful. Nice case! allows flip through of 3 or so different tiers progressing from small to larger. One of the bits I used - the 3/8 - had the BAD wobble problem. As another reviewer said, “you will be tempted to check if the bit is chucked properly.” After I checked the chuck, it still wobbled pretty bad. I measured it ... the wobble spanned a little more than 1/8”. I expect I’ll find more as per other reviews. That being said, I got the set on sale for about $30. That’s probably worth it. I expect what I will do is go out now and buy a nice set of these bits in the more common sizes, and this deal will be for rougher work, those odd in-between sizes. Or I might simply replace a few bits here and there depending on how many bad ones I find. I’d buy again for $30 knowing I’ll have to replace some.

I was pleasantly surprised with the good quality of these bits at such a reasonable price, especially since some earlier reviews cited problems with runout. Although I haven't yet used every bit, I have yet to find any that are not good.

I hesitated before ordering these due to the mixed reviews, but finally ordered when they were offered at half price. My only complaint is that I waited so long to order -- these are well worth the money to have such a complete set of brad point bits. The quality of my set is quite good, with none of the out-of-true problems others have seen.

My recommendation is to order this set without hesitation. If you do experience quality issues, use Rockler's generous return policy to your advantage.

This seemed like a good deal, especially at the sale price. They cut nice holes and for the most part perform well. However, a significant number of bits are either not straight or have points that are slightly off-axis. No matter how I chuck these miscreants, I can watch the tip make a little circle around the axis of rotation. That makes it a stab in the dark to locate the point on the workpiece. Worse, holes made with these bits can be as much as 1/64" oversize.
I got tired of fooling around with this set and bought a premium set of lipped brad points. End of problem.
I've kept the set for utility work, Nevertheless, when you buy you should be aware that these bits may limit your precision in drilling.

Have only used a few of the bits so far, those performed fine, straight, clean holes, good speed in hardwood, etc.
After I read some of the reviews I was concerned about trueness so I checked each bit on my table saw table, not a wobble in the bunch so I'm assuming that I won't have any problems

These bits rock! Every woodworker should have a set of these. Much better than the ones for metal. You don't use a screwdriver to chisel wood do you? Then why use drill bits for metal on your fine woodworking projects?

Purchased a few months ago with some items needed at that time. Attempted to use thees bits in a drill press in Jan 2013 and found that four out of the first five size bits were not straight. Reset each in chuck and they still wobble. Put my old craftsmans in the chuck and there was no wobble.

I had the runout problem. First bit I tried - 1/4" - bottom was swinging around out of true at the bottom, though twist and Forstner bits run true. Interestingly, when I tried drilling with it anyway, the brad point stopped the wobble dead in a piece of thin construction grade ply, and the hole came out dead round, and exactly 1/4".
I took the bit out and rolled it on the drill press table. It shows a bow in the middle, about 1/32" or less. I'm the kind who just shrugs off these kinds of things, especially for [price]and will probably just tap them or squeeze them with a some wood blocks in a vice back to true myself. Even significantly bent it cut wonderfully enough with no tearout (and no backing under the board - just open air) that any corrections by me will make even better.
Haven't tested the other bits yet, but I'm considering picking up 2 more sets at the current amazing Deal-of-the-Day, and just swapping all the best ones into one set, bending any crooked ones back to true[ish], and keeping the other 2 sets as backups, or as inexpensive gifts or trade items for other woodworkers for whom I might need such things.

Ditto on what Richard Hyer said. If you have been using metal bits for yours wood drilling, you won't believe the difference. Very sharp. Drill through hardwood with ease. The reason I got them was to hit exact center of target on the big bits, but the ease of drilling makes that an after thought. Thanks Rockler, again!

What a great purchase. The bits are great quality and very sharp, the storage case is solid and secure. All the bit sizes you could possibly need and the price was excellent for what I got. Do yourself a favor and get these bits. You won't be disappointed.

If you like nice sharp bits, then these are it. I use all types of wood, so the first thing I tried was oak. Then maple, nothing seemed to slow them down. Everyone should have these in their tool collection, I like having all the different sizes too.

Half of these bits aren't even close to straight. I knew that there would be some sort of quality issue with bits this cheap, but I didn't expect such crooked bits. They're very sharp, and the number of usable bits probably still makes it an OK deal for the money, but I wouldn't buy them again.

I had crooked, out of true bits. I double checked my drill press by trying standard twist drill bits and they spin true. The larger bits, 3/8ths and up, are slightly undersized. Rockler customer service was great when I called about returning bits.

The first one I was going to use was the 3/8 and as soon as it was spinning in the chuck I could tell the end was wobbly. It wasn't just a little either. Don't know how many or if there were others that were similar because I didn't check all of them but that was the one I needed for my current project and the rest didn't matter. Sent them back for a replacement so we'll see how the next set works out. I'm hoping for the best.

Very sharp bits. They cut aggressively and usually cleanly. But there is a significant problem: The smaller bits have a tremendous amount of runout. Most of the bits 1/4" and smaller are unsuitable for drilling a hole if you care much about about the hole's location. There is so much runout in many of the smaller sizes that when using these, you will be tempted to check if the bit is chucked properly.
Just for the record, I use these in a drill press only. Every time I see runout, I check the chuck, only to find confirmation that the bit was chucked properly. I revert to my high quality set of twist drills when I need an accurate hole location. If you use these mostly with a hand drill, you will probably be happier than me.

Glad I finally purchased the Brad Point bits. These make hitting the mark dead-on simple. As a hobbyist I think they should last a long time. The $20.00 gift card, I received on a previous Bosch Jig saw promotion, made these an even better value. Thanks again Rockler!

These were purchased to send to an African wood worker in Togo West Africa. He does a lot of work for a Missionary hospital there and 1st wanted "just some bits" so we sent him some cheap bits, but when I found out how good of work he does I sent him these bits and he just loves them! The only thing I told him was to be extremely careful not to drop them point first on concrete!

The brad point bits cut cleanly and in contrast to other reviews complaining about the bits being off center I have not experienced this. It may be that the manufacturer was made aware of this problem and improved their manufacturing process.

I bought this set needing 3 sizes to complete a project, 1/4, 7!32, & 11,32. All three had some serious run-out. The point was quite obviously wobbling. This set is coming back!

I bought this brad point bit set on sale and am glad I did.  About one in five bits are straight and true. The others are either bent or have points that are ground off center. I would not recommend these drill bits to anyone needing accuracy. Spend the money and buy a better set.

Some of the drills in my set are bent. There is excessive runout at the tip making them useless for drilling accurate holes. The worst quality I have ever seen. I guess you get what you pay for. Save your money.

Very sharp. Cut clean but aren't especially straight or precision ground. When the point engages the work piece wants to oscillate. I've got some other MUCH more expensive bits that don't do this and cut like velvet. A good buy for the money but not perfect.
