Bought two of these- the clicker mechanism is plastic and wouldn't work properly in either. I'd suggest looking for a kit with more substantial parts.

I bought 6 of these and had two work correctly. Three of the ones that would stick I finally got working better and the one one I never could get to work correctly -it always sticks.

I didn't have a problem with the click mechanism after following the note at the bottom of the instructions. I did find that the bushings had a larger hole than the mandrel and thus the wood and the bushings were hard to align when turning. The only way I could get the threaded collar into the wood part was to thread it onto the cushion part and press all together. The threaded collar was too small to hold in place and align in the pen press. Also, I had to put the larger end of the threaded collar first into the wood rather than the other way around since I couldn't get the collar to thread onto the mating piece. Once all assembled, pen looks and feels great. BTW, I did find a pen clip that wasn't proper for this kit - hole too small.
