Pen Turning Mandrel System
This is the essential tool for pen turning on a lathe! Machined-accurate steel bar is held in the lathe to ensure the pen turns accurately with live center, no drill chuck required!

This Pen Turning Mandrel system includes a #2 morse taper arbor for use with #2 morse taper lathe, mandrel shaft and knurled nut. #1 morse taper arbor attaches to mandrel (#23552) for use with #1 morse taper lathe. 10mm mandrel for use with fountain and rollerball pen bushings. Bushing sets sold separately.

The deco pen is basically a fancy upgrade to the regular 7mm pens, since the internal hardware and the bushings are identical. The pen hardware turns easily and works great, but I find that the pencil hardware has a rather loose fit to the lead at the tip of the pencil, which causes the lead to flex and break easily. Switching to a 2H 0.5mm lead usually fixes this problem. For those who like to engrave the page as they write, use a harder 3H lead.
