Well built and does what it is designed for. However, the pins only have a 1.25 inch "throw" which is fine for smaller contours but way too short for larger carpentry. It would also be very nice for some sort of locking mechanism on the device to prevent the pins from changing position when transferring measurements.

There are two major problems with this tool. 1. The pins do not have much depth of movement, making it of little value when the contours being copied are larger than the travel distance of the pins, and 2. There needs to be a locking device to secoure the pins after conforming to the contour being transfered to the working stock. I found both of these shortcomings annoying.

It is okay, 3 issues. 1. The pins do not have much depth, 2. no locking device to hold the contour in place, 3. the angled/blocky edges do not provide much close detail capability.

It is not fine enough to do fine woodtutning on spindle work.
