Variable speed from 10,000-23,000 RPM with advanced electronic feedback to maintain constant cutter speed under load.
Upper and lower power switches.
Low noise vibration.
Above-table bit height adjustment, motor release, collet and bit access, and auto-engaging spindle lock for single wrench bit changes.
Through-the-base dust collection.
Large opening, see-through sub-base with quick-change release for tool-less changeover between router bases and router tables.
Carrying case with bit and accessory storage easily detaches into a pedestal to place the router between cuts.

#63069 Micro-height adjustment knob (sold separately) available for above table bit changing. Fits all 890 series routers and the 8529 router.

Great router that makes superb cuts. It does have two areas that require improvement:
1. Porter Cable needs to supply a vacuum hose / adapter for the tiny handle nozzle the router base comes with. After some looking I found a corrugated hose [a local home center]I was able to adapt to a great vacuum hose.
2. The bushing insert will not allow for use of the vacuum insert. It will fit in, but changing or adjusting bit height is no longer possible. It kind of defeats the idea of having the vacuum attachment.
