I needed to re-engineer two kitchen cabinets from normal operation to a vertical lift open (to accomodate a new refrigerator). I was worried because each door was almost 20 lbs. But the lifts hold the doors very nicely. (I could only install one lift on each door). Assuming these lifts wear well, they are a great product.

After trying several spring loaded & friction type lid supports, I finally found something that works. They are supporting a vertically opening cabinet door that is part of a range hood/cabinet combo. I installed per the included instructions, but realized I didn't need the full 90 degree open angle. It was easily corrected by lowering the bottom attaching position.
Best of all, my wife is extremely happy with the way these function as we've been "fighting" with this cabinet door for five years.

Project used the 150 model to support the opening and closing of a maple lid (panel door) to a audio mixing board enclosure. The lid weighs about 16 pounds. The gas springs work well as expected. They hold the lid upright in a vertical position very well when open. No chance of it falling shut. Requires a bit of a tug to get the lit to begin to close, then the gas springs assist in easing down the lid to about the last foot at which point the gas springs have little effect and gravity takes over. When opening, the gas springs make the lid self opening once it is up about a foot. But you do need to hang onto it so it does not pop open too fast.

These work great. I learned two things others might want to know. When using with a door with glass, the hinges need to be placed directly over the lift-o-mats, otherwise the door will be pulled out of shape. Also the door will close very fast. Blumotion stops solve that problem.(See pic)

My project was to use a pair of the 150 set on a large malamine door 36"x27"x3/4" that hinges at the top and covers a laundry chute. The arms did a credible job but they will not fully extend, presumably because of the weight of the door. There does seem to be a limit as to what you can expect from the arms.
