Designed to help soft, porous woods such as aspen, pine and cherry accept a stain more evenly.
  • Available in 1/2 Pint, Pint and Quart sizes.
  • Pre-sealing the wood will lighten the color of your stain so test the pre-stain and the color before starting. A second coat of stain may be applied after the first coat has dried to achieve a darker color.

I use this on pine before I stain the project and it really turns out nice and even, without the splotching that is so common with soft woods. General Products are the best, and this pre-conditioner is no exception. An excellent product that will make your next project looking better than you would expect. So take the time to get rid of the blotches. I put this on with a soft cloth, used an old tee shirt. then waited 30 minutes before putting on the stain. It works great.

As with all General Finishes products...first rate!!! Makes blotching on softwoods a thing of the past. Aids in application time when weather conditions are hot. I'll be using this on all my projects from now on!!!
