I just received this item and have some comments on the instructions, assembly and initial quality. I will defer to the others on its use. Most seem to be pleased with this jig. I was disappointed to find that the handles were made of poplar vs. a more dense and durable wood. I also do not see why the manufacturer does not drill pilot holes for the toggle clamp. I drilled these holes using a 1/16" bit vs. the 1/8" bit recommended. I am glad that I did since, with a coating of beeswax, the screws went in easily. I think that the 1/8" holes would have been much too large to secure the toggle especially in poplar. Next the label on one of the bags indicated that the jog is pre-set for Blum 35mm face frame or frameless concealed hinges. I hope that the jig works with all hinge types. I assume that this is what the slots on the guide plate are for. Finally, I think that 1/4" washers should have been included to place over the end of the T-bolts beneath each knurled plastic knob. This is obviously not absolutely essential but I think that it would be better that way with the softer poplar under the knob. Otherwise the jig seems to be made of top quality components and I look forward to using it.

This jig worked very well and made aligning both parts of the bracket easy. However, I did find that some improvements are in order. The T-slot rail is not really long enough for anything but a small door. Fortunately I had one of the mountable T-slot rails handy, while setting up 30" doors. Also, it would be nice if the jig was reversible to allow for left and right doors. Sometimes it is not possible to place the hinges the same distance from the top and bottom of a door. If the jig would flip and "mirror" it would be perfect, but two smaller gauge blocks would also work.
Finally holes on the mounting plate were too large for the European hinges I had. However, using a centering bit worked fine to drill pilot holes that were re-drilled with the appropriate bit.
Overall the jig improved accuracy of installing European hinges.

As with most Rockler products this too is a good tool. It should be made clear however that the forstner bit [needed is long shank one specific] to the jig. So my project is now delayed as await the arrival of the bit.

After studying this product for some time, I finally decide to buy it. The results using this jig are just exceptionally neat. You don't have to be an expert to produce high quality European hinges installation. The jig goes right the very first time. I recommend this product to anyone installing concealed hinges no matter if you are a pro or weekend woodworker.

I used the multi tool rail jig it on a project I did on my neighbor's kitchen cabinets. I refaced their cabinets and made new doors. they decided to use European concealed hinges. The rail jig made it a snap. I had 18 doors to hang and I was able to drill install hinges and hang the doors in three hours. They were very happy with the results and so was I. I highly recommend this jig to anyone installing concealed hinges. It makes the job quick and easy even for the first timer.

It finally came time to start using concealed hinges and I opted for the Multi-Rail Jig. The jig itself is dynamite. Works wonders for the first timer and any experienced door maker will enjoy the ease of use. The only problem I have with this jig is that is the picture on-line or in the magazine. If you look at the wooden handles in the photo you will notice that they are made of oak, so is the stop. However, the jig handles are poplar which is a very big contrast in durability. Hardwood vs Softwood, but the stop is made of oak.
