This has proven to be most usefull but should be updated to the newer systems. I find the cd will not work on windows 7 and is somewhat out dated but I use an older computer that I have with windows 98 to get the job done. Still makes the job much easier and quick.

Fast and easy to use. Just fill in the blanks to customize the doors to the cabinets you're making, and they come out perfectly! I just finished up a bunch of new cabinets, including several with double doors. All the doors fit perfectly, and the layout was done in a fraction of the time it would have taken to do all that math by hand!

For the price, this software automatically installs and the learning curve is fairly shallow. Much easier to use this dedicated software for specific projects like wainscotting and cabinet door making.
I looked at a ton of free download trial versions of other software versions. This one works really well for what the designer intended.

I was intimidated to try making raised panel doors. I purchased the woodshop calculator and found it to be extremely easy to use. I made my first door which came out to the perfect size. I'm now making all new doors for my kitchen. Thanks for a great product thats worth its weight in gold!

Very easy to use! It does exactally what is says it will do---but no more. It seems a little "simplistic".
Would be nice if the design could be exported to my CAD program. Ability to save file fo future upddates is missing.
Certainly worth the cost.

The program does a quick job of giving a cut list and labels but falls short of using it on your computer operating systems. Microsoft XL is one, and any newer operating system which is not recommended.

I purchased this software because I was about to build 30 maple cabinet doors for my new workshop. This program is a real time saver and mistake avoider. I made all of the parts on a production basis and was able to keep track because of the labels the program prints out. All measurements the program spit out were accurate. The degree to which this simplifies the process of making doors is amazing. I will use it every time I make even one door.

I was a bit skeptical at first about using this software. With the cost of materials, as everyone is aware, every cut counts. After the first time using the software, the doubt was removed quickly, now I wouldn't make a door without first plugging the numbers in the Woodshop Calculator. This is one of the most used tools I have purchased for my shop. I recently made this small medicine cabinet, the project before this one was a full set of cabinets for a relative's new house which was nearly 75 doors.
This is a small investment with huge dividends.

I have been using this software for several years and find it to be an excellent time saver. I still like to calculate the dimensions manually from time to time to verify my brain is still working. I just purchased a new copy of Woodshop Calculator since I purchased a new computer and could not find the old disk to install on new computer. As soon as I finish this review I am going to my shop and build a couple of raised panel doors calculated from this new software version.

I purchased this product for a small projest and found that it fit very well for a large project that I have been planning. This is excellant software and saves a lot of time. Highly recomended for cabinet and door makers. This is great.

I bought this software about 6 months ago and us it frequently. Any woodshop shop with computer access should not be without it. I not only use it on cabinet doors, but recently used the rail/stile calculating feature for making screen frames for a sunporch at our cottage. I'm sure I will soon find many other uses for this time/worksaver software program. Thanks to Rockler, here's a mini-CAD program anybody can afford.

This program is excellent. It was my first time making kitchen cabinet doors and they came out great. I am a female carpenter. It also helped me figure out how much wood to buy without wasting money and material. I would recommend this CD to anyone who is making cabinet doors.

Outstanding program! I've used it for some cabinet doors in my shop. The learning curve was short and the finished product was wonderful. I don't believe the program was intended for commercial use, but it certainly would be an asset to any cabinet shop.

I have owned this program for several years and have used it off and on over that time. I have come to learn the hard way that cut lengths for stiles and rails need to be double checked against final size wanted. Program sometimes miscalculates. My experience is that stated cut lengths usually result in a larger then desired finish dimension.

This software works wonderfully and accurately. All you have to do is measure the actual cabinet opening, tell the software your desired rail and stile width and door overhang and it calculates exactly the rail and stile length and panel size and prints out a cut list for each piece. I used it to make the first two doors in my kitchen remodel project (one opening, two doors) and they matched exactly. Now on to the rest of the doors. It sure saved a lot of measuring and guessing. I highly recommend it.

I purchased this product and didn't read the requirements for computer systems. Try making the program compatible with a Mac. System. I am disappointed that it is not available.

Program does not work, is being sent back,
frame Measurements work out accurately,
panels do not, way way way off.
Maybe just the Cd I recv'd however I have received other programs that are better.

If you are making only a few doors of the same type, this will be ok. However, I found several serious problems that make it almost useless for real work. You cannot have a mix of overlay and inset, or a mix of different overlays in the same project. If you change any of the overlays, all doors and panels will be changed universally. You cannot use characters not allowed for file naming in the door configuration names, and you cannot change a door configuration and save it to the same name. I also investigated how the data is stored and found that each door parameter is stored in a separate file!?!?!?!?! Not good!!! I had trouble with dimensions changing mysteriously, or the report generator is inconsistent.
It would cost more than it is worth to return it. I would not recommend this software to anyone. Always check the results carefully.
