I have used one of these for a few years now in my router table. Made changing of the bits much easier and I have not seen any performance issues. I mostly used 1/2" shanks but I do have collet reducers, just haven't used them yet. I try to stick with 1/2" shanks.

The Router Xtreme Xtension is great. I have a Dewalt Router which is a great router. My router is a under the table mount. In order to change out bits, I have to unlatch the router from the base use two wrenchs, change out the bit and replace the router. With the RXX., all I have to do is raise my router, use the allen wrench, change the bit and lower the router to the correct depth. This is a time save and easy to use!

Maybe I am just unlucky and got one that sneaked through quality control, but, I can't fit any of my 1/4" shank router bits into the 1/4" reducer. The bore is too small.
