It's fast and easy to work with, I've only made a few cuts so far, but It's a breeze! Totally worth the 16 bucks. However, when making holes in wood too thick for it, made a hole through the center, to line the cutter up on the other side.

I bought this in order to cut round bases for scroll saw projects. About 2 days after I received it my wife said she needed several round bases for a craft project we were working on. I went to the garage and came back in less than 5 minutes with EXACTLY what she wanted. She was thrilled and so was I. This works great for what I need/want it to do. I can only crank my drill press down to 650 rpm but, going slow, it works just fine!

I didn't realize circle cutters existed until I stumbled upon it on another web site. I needed to cut a 2 3/4" hole and couldn't find a Forstner bit that size at the local home store. This circle cutter is like having a bunch of bunch of new bits. Cuts a nice clean hole and works great.
My observations were I wish it were a little deeper. I am cutting 1" thick holes (not 3/4") and it will not break through the other side. So I have to flip the board over and drill from the other side as well.
The size adjustment can be tricky as well. I wish it had some sizing marks on the slide to give you an idea. I made due with a tape and some math.
Lastly, I was concerned about the speed rating on the cutter. It says right on it to use only with a drill press and do not exceed 500 RPM. I have a craftsman bench top press and the slowest speed I have is 650 RPM. I went slow enough that it didn't seem to matter but I on occasion the blade did catch and stop the motor.

This product states that it will cut sheet metal. I bought it for that purpose and tried to cut a 6 in circle out of 18 gauge sheet metal. I used an rpm of 390 and a very slow plunge rate. The cutter pancaked out and only scratched the sheet metal. I went back to the store I got it from to get a replacement cutter and find out why my cutter failed. I was told that this product does not cut sheet metal and only cuts wood. I am now going back to return the cutter.

"Every time I have been in a Rockler store around the country I have left feeling that I received wonderful service and most always had exactly what I needed in stock at a fair to great price. the only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I have to drive over 45 minutes to reach the nearest Rockler store. My wife probably appreciates that distance, as I am certain that if one was as close as I wished it to be, we would have very little left in our checkbook!"
