So good, well made and cheap that after I got one I ordered another couple (as I'm always misplacing pencils anyway). Great around the workshop and one point that I don't think anyone else has mentioned, the tip is strong enough to extend so that you can mark through bracket holes - a job that I always find difficult with any other marker.

Nice pencil, IMHO. Pleasantly massive, well lays in hand. Line is also very nice for general marking. As for very fine marking - I use marking knife. Both knife and the pencil have their application in my workshop. In comparison to carpenter wooden pencils and mechanical pencils strong points are evident - this one is more comfortable to use and strogner in regard of lead strength. As for strength when fallen down - any other type of pencil will break easily if hits the floor or even bench. It just means I have to use it carefully. Good chisel can be damaged if dropped also - it does not mean it is weak point of the chisel. Thank you Rockler, nice product.

I finally have a pencil that will work in my shop. I love mechanical pencils, but the break when marking wood. This pencil is much stronger. I also looked on the internet for lead holders which this is, but this is the best price.

I like the dark heavy line it leaves. I normally like a thinner line but the points keep breaking on the pencils. I have normally used a pencil that leaves a dark line but due to the softer lead it breaks if I press hard enough to get the darker line. I like this mechanical pencil because it gives me more lead as I wear down the point without having to sharpening it. I have tried using the carpenters pencil but just don’t like the flat shape, it doesn’t hold comfortable in my hand. Thanks to the designer of this pen, it’s always in my apron ready to make my next mark. The pocket clip adds a nice feature in that it doesn’t fall out when I bend over to pick up something.

When I saw this pencil listing I immediately ordered it. Not for the value of using it in my shop but for everyday life. Most pencils leave to light and thin of a marking for me to see properly. This pencil though leaves a great dark heavy line that my eyes can see well with. Whether sharp to a point or blunt it is great. Thanks Rockler for helping a fellow out with a product to help us in everyday life.

First impressions were great, perhaps a little heavy but all that metal- it should last a lifetime. The next day it fell about 2 feet and the threaded nylon insert attaching the heavy metal tip to the heavy metal barrel sheared off rendering it useless. It didn't even break the point off the lead. I won't be buying this again.
