This device has proven to be invaluable to me. My dust collection needs are very localized: I need to collect dust where I am doing intensive sanding with an orbital sander and nowhere else. I've been hefting around a bulky, heavy fan-driven dust filter box for years. Now all I have to do is plant this little x.0 oz. device attached to my shopvac right in front of my work, and, voila! It sucks up all that sanding dust in seconds.

Great produce! The collection hood worked very well on my miter saw. The hood catches more dust than anything I tried in the past.I agree with Dave that diagrams and parts numbers would be very beneficial. I have purchased several DC fittings only to find they did not fit.

Worked well on a sliding miter saw with dust that was previously out of control. I built a bracket to attach it to the rails on the saw, so the "funnel" is always close to the blade and moves as the angle is changed. Works well a few feet from a 1.5HP dust collector, but wouldn't recommend much smaller. Still lose a little dust from below the fitting (working on that - the pink plastic sheet is "version 1"), and some is thrown forward and not collected. Overall a huge improvement.

The product as pictured sitting on a bench top may be a bit impractical for most users as it would take up a lot of bench space. I mounted mine in the back of the bench top, allowing the back of the miter saw to sit over the opening. Along with a home made hood, this is a better use and allows the miter saw to sit deeper into the bench, taking less room.

It's a well-made product.

My only suggestion for this and other similar DC products is that Rockler would develop diagrams and parts numbers for DC fittings to run certain configurations of DC hook-ups whether a fixed system or with a quick disconnect for a shared dust collector.

I have used this on my chop saw, the lathe, I built a frame onto my table where I have my planner, and as you know, planners make lots of chips, this works like a champ, collects over 95 % of the chips.

Great product, I really like it. I use this hood behind my wood lathe and it works very well, especially while sanding. Plus I discovered sanding boards on the lathe bed in front of this hood with a random orbital sander provides virtually dust free sanding. My plan is to use another hood mounted on a board in such a way that the board can be easily clamped to the bench or other location as needed. FYI, I have a ClearVue cyclone system with LOTS of air volume.

Even though it is not designed to support clamp on lights, I put one on the top and clamped the hood to a roller stand to collect dust behind my mini lathe and giving me light at the same time. It really has helped my breathing and asthma. I'm getting another one for my work bench for sanding.

An old Craftsman dust funnel was real flemsy and didn't last very long. This Dust Fitting is real beefy. I believe it will last a long time.

Good quality product at a good price. The flange is wide enough and stiff, so mounting options are not a problem. The big 4" outlet offset near the bottom of the funnel does a great job of collecting the sawdust from my radial arm saw, in conjunction with a Delta 50-850 blower.

I used this tabletop dust fitting on my 13" planer and on the chop saw which I bought it for. I need to buy a planer hood next. A ready fantastic item. Clean up was easy.

Don't waste your money if you plan to hook it to a shop vac with a 2 1/2 hose. This is the way I had planed on using it. After spending extra money to find an adapter that would hook my vac hose to the hood I found there is not enough suction to do any good.

Using one for my table saw with great success while a second has been custom fitted for my sanding station.
Great price for such a useful accessory.

I had to modify the vacuum port to fit my Sears shop vac but it then worked very well.

Great for collecting dust when I can get it to stay connected to the hose, but tough to keep the dust collection hose secured to dust hood. The neck is too short and I am unable to find a quick connector that will fit.

It really helps to contain most of the dust when I am using my drill press to spindle sand.

Great dust catcher, good size and shape, unbeatable price. Mounted it off to the side behind the headstock. Perfect for capturing dust from sanding and fine shaving during shear cuts.

I mounted this product under my contractor saw and am very pleased with it. Its size and shape make for much more effective dust collection that did my previous set up.

Tried to use with my Sears shop vac and suction was inadequate to effectively collect sanding dust. Had to modify hood/hose connection. Would suggest using a better clamp, had trouble getting clamp to tighten. Quick clamp would be better. Bought the clamp to use for holding hood in place, didn't work very well, hood wouldn't stay in place securely.

Bought for dust collection under Radial Arm and for portable moves near other dust creating work in wood shop. Now in transition to another state so shop not active. But I used one in conjunction with shop vac to catch the dust and grime from under my refrigerator as I blew it through from front with my air compressor, hose with nozzle - worked great.

I have a 36" deep bench where I have a miter station but it is still not deep enough to accomodate the depth needed for the hood and associated fittings. The hood was returned.
