Don't mess with the directions, there are several very good demonstrations on Youtube with someone acutally using the tool. I found them (the videos) helpful, and found the product useful.

I got near perfect results the first time on a 4 1/4" profile with three 3/16" beads.

I would have rated it 5 stars but for the fact that instructions are not very good and you have to make your own 3 1/2° beveled shim to make it work with 45° spring angle stock.

They don't tell you, but because of the slick plastic, you must clamp the stock in place. Use a short, thin blade. Normal length blades hit the edge of the EasyCoper frame and kick your saw out.

Worked as advertised, made beautiful copes on the first attempt, though it did take a bit of studying to figure out exactly what to do. The confusing part for me was "nipping the stub". I finally figured that out after I did one without "nipping the stub" and saw the thin strip that they talk about on their web site directions. Over all though, I'm very please with it and it helped me to cut neat, clean copes the first time out without any sweat. I'll never hang another piece of crown molding without it and without the crown molding jig, for you chop saw, that Rockler sells.

This product made coping crown so easy. I became an expert with my Jigsaw in a few tries. I used quick grips to combat fatigue of holding the coper and moulding to a table. I would not put crown up without this tool. Thank you Rockler for making my life so much easier.

Paid for itself the first day I used it. Saved my knuckles from the usual bashes and scrapes I get when using the coping saw all day, too. You'll need to use a couple of clamps to stabilize everything...your hand is not sufficient. Use a fine cut jigsaw blade, and you'll laugh at how easy it is!

I am a average carpenter, in other words I don't do it for a living, this tool is fantastic, after a few practice cuts, it was a snap! My copes came out perfect! Wow a product that actually does as advertised! I highly recommend this product. If those who cannot figure it out, probably shouldn't be doing it in the first place!

Took a while to get the hang of it, but once up to speed, the inside corners were excellent, requiring little or no filling right from the first one. The instructions were very difficult to understand as the photos were difficult to interpret. one has to actually grab a scrap piece and go to work and figure it out for yourself. A fine product, especially when mounted to a 2 x 6 with a cleat underneath to hold the fixture in a clamping Work Mate or some other type of clamp device. I am very pleased with the finished corners and glad I own the EasyCoper product.

Ever try installing crown molding in a room that's not square? That's right there no such thing as a square room! This product paid for itself on the first application. It's easy to use and takes all the guess work out installing crown molding. Throw away that coping saw, a jig saw is all you need! For the money this is the best product I have ever purchased, thanks Rockler!

Real time saver. A few practice cuts and you are ready to go. No reason to buy the expensive stuff. This does the job!

Great product. This makes coping a perfect joint a matter of a day of practice not a lifetime of experience. It is actually quicker for me to cope my joints then to miter, test fit, trim and fill as I use to. Anyone can use this though a good jig saw and proper blade are a must. I can 't say enough about this item...it truly is one of the few “labor saver” devices that works as it claims.

I am not a finish carpenter, but I am an average rough carpenter and I found this item to be a rip off as I could not even get close to reasonable results...Perhaps another product would work better. I have it in a draw until the next garage sale when I will sell it for one cent if I can get that much for it. Guess that I should have returned it... perhaps customer service will get in touch with me and I can return it for credit... otherwise this evaluation stands.

Editor's note: Peter, we offer a generous 90 day return policy. If you have purchased this within the last 90 days you'll be able to return it for refund if it has not performed to your expectations.

I recently was doing a crown molding job just after buying the easy coper. I had not tested it yet so I was using my coping saw and some muscle power. I was tired and had had enough so I grabbed the easy coper. Perfect copes, quick and easy. I love it!

The EasyCoper is the best thing since sliced bread! I made a perfect cope the first time I used this great invention. I have other coping aids and tools, but this is the best by far. I only wish I had it fifteen years ago.

I found difficult to use especially when you have
to hold the moulding with one hand and try to make
the cut with your jig saw with the other hand.
Also, you have to make to many relief cuts, I find it
much faster and get a better cope using my trusty
coping saw

I know this item received very favorable reviews from several others but I do not share their views. I found it difficult to use either with a coping saw or with my jig saw per the write up. The instructions are very mimimal and hard to see due to their size. I always like to keep the instructions but these are printed on the packaging material which makes this difficult. By far this is the only item I ever purchased from Rockler that I was disappointed in.

I don't know what I was thinking ordering this. As if coping molding is not easy enough this thing is junk and if anything makes the job a pain in the a@#! Save your money for coping saw blades.

I have yet to get the hang of it but after reading the reviews I must admit it might be me, the directions are not clear or not enough, but I will try it again.

It works, but it's not much faster than coping with a hand held saw.
It may have saved me a bit of time, but only after I'd cut about 6 or so. All in all knowing what I know now I'd only get this if I was doing crown in my entire house, not the two rooms we redid the crown in.

Prior to owning EasyCoper, I never coped anything in my life. From the very first "test" cope that I performed, every coped joint has been perfect. Just make sure that use the correct Bosch jigsaw blade.

I found it much easier, faster, and less hassle to cope 7 1/4" crown using my jigsaw and a simple zero-clearance foot I made from hardboard.
