1) Submitted by Larry Kettlewell, from Topeka, KS on 8/28/2009 Customer Rating: I was in need of a replacement mitre gauge for a table saw that was "gifted" to me and that I've just recently "rehabilitated". After reading the reviews, I chose the V27. This is a very good mitre gauge for the cost. I had no difficulty in the setup and adjustment that a couple of others noted. Once aligned, I tested on a couple of scraps for 45 degree cuts. They were dead on. You could spend more, but I think the law of diminishing returns will come into play.

I have added a small fence to help stabilize my workpieces and the number of positive stops is ample for these tools. Once adjusted, the miter slot bar moves like glass.

The guide bar length is a little short for support of heavy lumber cross cuts. I bought two of these Incra miter fences. (One was for jigs, the other for regular use.) I chose this model because I supposed it to fit the slightly narrow Sears Craftsman table saw miter gauge slots. One of the ones I purchased did fit great right out of the packaging. The other had to be machined, even with all of the adjustment hardware removed, before I could get it into the slots on my Craftsman saw. Anyone should be able to adapt one themselves using black oxide sandpaper. But, there may be a little extra work required. burial flag boxes (click to see full-size picture in new window)
